    I’ve been binge watching all of your videos lol. I appreciate all the info. I’ll be joining a little older at 35 w/ 2 kids, so I feel a little funny about it. But it is what it is, never too late right? Thanks again…👌🏼🙏🏼

    Hey, thanks for sharing this information. I am a Firefighter/Paramedic. I worked for my fire department for 7 years and it was time for a change so I left. I am considering AF Reserves so I have been gathering as much information as I can.

    Hi! Thank you for the videos. I have a few questions about being in the reserve:
    1) How does vacation/leave work for reservists? I know that active duty get 30 days off during the year but since reservists only work one weekend a month and two weeks a year, do you get time off? Let's say that you want to travel with friends or family several times during the year, to another state or country. Can you do that as long as you're back for drill weekends or do you have to ask for time off/permission every time?
    2) Are you completely free to do whatever you want with the civilian part of your life? As a dancer for example, could you be on a TV show or something like that? Or are there any restrictions on what you are allowed to do?
    3) I've heard that reservists get deployed even more often than active duty, is this true? Not everyone wants to get deployed.
    4) If you decide that the reserve is not for you, can you apply for separation before your contract ends? Can you go inactive any time during your contract?
    Thank youu!!! :)

    • @ABeautifulMix
      @ABeautifulMix  Год назад +3

      Hey hey!! Of course.
      1) Your civilian life is yours. Travel as much as want! As along as you make it to drill in one piece you’re good .
      2) There aren’t any restrictions on what your civilian job can be! Choose what makes sense for you.
      3) All reservists can get deployed. Depending on your job the likelihood increases. Typically the Admin type positions don’t get deployed frequently at all. For ex I know a member who was admin active duty for 7 years and had no deployments. So for a reservist it would be even less.
      4) Separation before your contract ends would be a rare occasion I believe. However there are programs such as Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) where you’re technically inactive but you still fulfill the length of your contract. This would be a great question for a recruiter!

      Thanks for replying! If you don't mind, I have a couple more questions:
      - As a reservists with Tricare Reserve Select, can you go to any civilian doctor or continue going to the same civilian doctors you had before joining the military? Can you make appointments with civilian doctors any time? And can you take any prescription medication they give to you or do you have to inform the military first?
      - Do you do physical training on drill weekends? Is it on both days or only one time during the weekend?
      And when you do pt, do you wear the same uniform you'll be wearing for the rest of the day or do you wear workout clothes? And do they let you take a shower on base after? I couldn't imagine doing pt, sweating and not taking a shower right after lol.
      Thank you for explaining! :)

    Thank you for all the information. I didn’t know you were a flight medic. Are you AE? I’m at tech school now as a 4N. I literally just took mod 5 yesterday and will soon be taking NREMT.

    Hello! I have a few questions (: was the asvab hard to pass? I want to join as reserves and I recently had a surgery on March regarding my tailbone and my tailbone is pretty sensitive when there's an amount of good pressure applied. Like I can barely do a situp. Do you think this will affect my process for joining? Or at BMT?

    • @ABeautifulMix
      @ABeautifulMix  Год назад

      Hi Lola! The ASVAB can be intimidating but if you set aside time to study (you can use an asvab app) and get used to seeing the questions that will help for sure. As far as your tailbone, sit-ups are a part of our PT test and are done regularly for PT days so this would be a concern I’d share with a recruiter to confirm.

      @ABeautifulMix  2 года назад

      Soo we’ve got a few options that help assist with tuition . Tuition Assistance (4,500) very fiscal year , and the 2 GI Bills. I’d recommend looking up all the options to see what’s best way to fund your school!

    I am in school right now and thinking about joining after I graduate do you know if they contribute to loans that you already have?

    • @ABeautifulMix
      @ABeautifulMix  2 года назад +1

      I don’t think so. I joined with loans and I haven’t heard of any way to do that. The only loan forgiveness program I’ve seen is the Public Service Loan Forgiveness and that’s directly tied to serving and length of payments.
