It's not weird at all, colorblind people only see value and not hue in specific colors, so it's no wonder they gravitate towards high value contrast paint schemes. In fact, in some ways, colorblind people are better than non-colorblind people at distinguishing subtle shifts in saturation and brightness - I've heard of people specifically asking their colorblind relatives to judge if the paint colors match when painting walls because they can notice stuff that would be very hard to distinguish otherwise.

As a color blind person im always hesitant to mix colors, it can be tricky to tell whats what on your palette at times so i always paint straight out the bottle using the labels to guide me. (Another reason i don’t like citadel paints) leading to very saturated and contrasting minis if I don’t weather them down a lot

That has a nice been-painted-a-hundred-times industrial machine look to it. It also looks like it would be a great base for painting marble or other stones, the transparency of the layers means you could sponge/stipple some metallic paint lightly between coats of speedpaint to get that glittery look of real stone. Drift into different contrast tones to make different types of stone... see, this is why this channel is great, it gets you thinking about the painting possibilities.
