The vocal rider I believe is supposed to be a vocal automation tool to balance out the signal before the compressor. The floor should be to remove low noise like a noise gate. Atleast I think…. Haha great video! Thank you!
Yeah, that’s what I thought at first. I use the vocal rider plug-in from Waves for volume automation occasionally. I appreciate your time checking the video out. 🙏🏾
I can respect that. Although my mix was not the actual final mix, it sounds better now than it does in the video. I gave the vocals more presence with the Spirit than I did with my own mix.
I believe that. meant no disrespect with my comment. I am audio engineer myself, and I recently replaced my vocal chain with the spirit because it saves so much time getting me closer to a final sound, then I just tweak after it. plus, I think the vocal rider is better than waves vocal rider for sure.@@jaunti
@@BobbyCrane oh, you’re good. No offense was taken. I know the Spirit could save a lot of time. I rather go the old-fashioned way because that’s what I’m used to. There are other plugins that are just as good as the Spirit. I’ll be doing a comparison video with those and the Spirit next month.
ohh im excited for that. My only critique of The Spirit is that I wish the compressor had some more variability, and a De-Esser would've been clutch.@@jaunti
@@BobbyCrane A de-esser on the Spirit would be a game changer, so I am excited too, even though I have to ask Cradle for another free trial because I forgot to use it after accidentally activating it and could not shoot the video for it earlier this month.

I like The Spirit sound more I think. It has a cool harmonic high end that feels present but not harsh.
