Aren’t you supposed to vacuum all the Freon out first? Please forgive my ignorance

How much should I pay for someone else to do this? $200 sound good if I already have the compressor? $250?

Friend of mine just got quoted $2,700. It's always an expensive job if you pay a mechanic shop to do it. Part only costs around $170. Labor markup on a compressor replacement is insane.

I got quotes ranging from $175-300 for just labor....$300 a real garage 175 a mobile mechanic.
