I would walk one of the three every time.
That’s what many pitchers did with Barry Bonds many times. Dodgers need to make someone else bat 3rd then Freeman 4th.
But the Giants had Jeff Kent, he made them pay for walking Bonds.
It’s a huge weakness so of course it’ll be exploited. Let’s see if dodgers can adjust

@@Salsuero ...Yes" I saw exactly what you saw...and the catcher framed those pitches perfectly but the umps did call two of them that were low and away...I saw when the Dodger Manager was yelling at the Ump. The rest of the pitches he challenged the hitters but he had that slider that sailed away from the hitters.

They have a serious hitting problem too. Loaded the bases 8 times only to manage 6 Ks and 1 groundout.

It's especially interesting to note how pitches in almost identical locations resulted in ball four calls in the previous inning, which allowed the dodgers to load the bases (again). In one inning the calls went the dodgers way and the next inning the same pitches went the Mets way. I'm increasingly on board with the robo ump idea, if for no other reason than a bit more consistency.
Let Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman walk.
That will give the Dodgers an easy win.

Pete Alonzo was a hero today, that was amazing.
I can't really blame Pete if at the end of the season he decides to walk, but I'm always telling people, Pete is nothing of Dave Kingman, and he actually makes contact at the right moments as well as compete for gold glove at first. He's also superfast for a guy that big! It would be ashamed if the front office gives a 'neh' and a cold shoulder to Pete and let him walk after the seasons up. I'm liking the team right now, but I so do still hate our clueless front office!

He's getting alot of pressure from the bench to produce. He's not hitting with Risp and that is a problem. You can see that he's not letting the pitch count get high. He just needs an adjustment and he'll be OK. 3 or 4 dodgers aren't producing and we know who they are and what waste it was to bring 1 back

The Mets look much more loose and focused as a team. I suppose the core have been together as team longer. The Dodgers sadly don’t look cohesive right now let’s see how they bounce back as the season progresses.

He’s better at second than shortstop. He has a cannon of an arm and great speed that made him good in right field, but his size won’t stand that kind of punishment for that many games a year.

I feel Othani's had to much pressure after coming to the Dodger. There's too many chances base loaded and he got struck out.
Even the Angels had a better bottom of lineup than this dodger one 😂 The Angels problem was the pitching side.
But Shohei can’t come up clutch. He’s 1-21 with RSIP. There are at least three games where he could’ve single-handedly won it for the dodgers. But he has no problem getting hits with no one on. 🤷🏽♂️
At least the Angels were fun to watch, they could score but couldn't hold on with their bullpen. Dodgers are straight unclutch, couldn't even take the lead at home.

@@ST-lb9ttThey could score like 5+ and still losses, the Angels offense was underrated when they were healthy, that’s the reason they could not make it to a postseason. The Rockies game last season was the Angels offense at their best.
A possible fix would be to break up the big 3 hitters in the dodger lineup. Bring Smith or Muncy to 3 Otani 4 etc.

Dodgers have have a leadership problem. You have a boss that overpays for subpar players for marketing and merchandise (Yama really should've signed with NYM IMO), and a managers that is Friedman's "Yes-Man" - We lose EVERY YEAR in October, and BADLY.
That billion thrown at 2 Japanese pitchers - albeit one of them is Ohtani - will have very little impact come October because of our defense and BP, and when we flops in the Fall, that nerd Friedman should be axed first... Vesia is our leverage lefty in the BP folks... Nuff said...
Vesia's numbers are much better this year but he does make it nerve racking. Regardless, Friedman and Gomes may not be there in a year or two if things don't change. There are fans who could have spent the money more wisely. It's a matter of time before Dodger Stadium is renamed to pay for the team.
Dodgers have got some defence practice to do, pitching hasn’t been stellar either. But it’s only April, plenty of time to work it out
Reid Garrett's stuff is nasty. With Diaz the Mets have a great 1-2 if they both stay healthy.

Top 3 of the Dodgers line up could be 1 2 and 3 in MVP voting, but if they are gonna be stranded on base so often, it'll be hard to see them make a deep playoff run. Talent alone will obviously get them to around 100 wins.

13 LOB and a terrible bullpen… I woke up early to watch the game and was half asleep and may have accidentally watched the Angels game instead of the Dodgers. Anyway, it was a terrible triple loss, but I hope this is the slap in the face that wakes them up.🤞

Most people familiar with them know the bottom of the lineup is really struggling. Some of the strategy is pitch Outman inside and make Lux hit it on the ground.

April 20th. Umpire #23 Lance Barksdale, Accuracy 92.8% on that day. It seems he gets tired and misses calls later innings from the data.

Dodgers are worse than the Angels when Ohtani was there. At least the Angels were fun to watch even when they were blowing leads. This Dodger team can't even get a lead to protect, much less blow.
Dodgers have lost momentum after a hot start. Now they are a sinking ship. Hard to believe they're still in first place. If nothing changes, this will be a disappointing season. Two problem areas need correction: 1) the Dodgers can't close games after getting out to a lead most of the games, 2) the HR game is non-existent now as Ohtani has moved onto batting average leader, and no one else is hitting HR's. As is currently , its not enough offensive production.
Just send the whole team down to triple A what’s the point of spending so much money on batters when the bullpen is the same maybe worse than other years

Most of the negative comments here are clearly absurd. None of them detail which parts of the director's decisions were problematic or which aspects of Oh-tani were at fault.
