Proper field testing is done by mechanized infantry recruits during their training. If 18y olds bored, frustrated and pent up lads cant push the machinery to limits, nothing can :D
@@Hellsong89 Maybe so. But it also tells lot about the drivers skills. One driving teacher said that a privious experience shows. For example farmer's boy who has driven tractors or a logger who has driven logs out of forest can drive much further than a city boy, who has driven only on pavement.
Maybe it's data collection for the testing they're doing. I think you can see a camera or sensor just to the left of the bundle. There's a bunch of wires and computers inside the vehicle at 2:18 as well. edit: At 2:33 he says the vehicle is wired with various testing system to get enough data to verify the design.
Looks like an updated Stalwart with armour and optimised for multi role unlike the stalwart which was just a load carrier. Wonder if the Patria has any amphibious capability?
Both 1st and 2nd gen of 8x8 as well as currently in preparation 8x8 XP made in Poland (KTO Rosomak, (c)KTO Rosomak XP) are fully amphibiously capable. Poland is the largest manufacturer and user of the AMV Patria 8x8 platforms in all variants and configurations - over 1000 vehicles now.
At least this has doors rather than having to climb through the roof hatches. Guess it isn't amphibious like the stalwart was, hopefully a transmission that doesn't wind up when on tarmac as well.
Interesting video, and great machine naturally, but why such a prominent military analitical source as Jane's is makes such a dummy videos. Voice over is horrible. It feels like the anchor has his head inside a bucket.
Technically you can purchase one, though you require special license to drive it in Finland if i recall right.. also you need to be pretty rich as one of those costs pretty penny.
Of course they do, domestic ones naturally and friendly foreign ones when their country is looking for new vehicles and opening a selection for participants to enter. Or are you asking why Jane's didn't drag a random British captain with them to drive a random foreign vehicle? "Blimey, what on Earth am I doing here, freezing in this godforsaken place?" the poor captain would be asking.
Looks a lot like a modernized version of the German Fuchs. I know, all wheeled military vehicles look alike, but compare the two. The resemblance really goes further than the usual same-ness between military vehicles. I'm not accusing it of being a ripoff, but the extreme resemblance made me think about whether it would be a good replacement for the Fuchs, which isn't just operated by Germany, but also by other NATO countries. I think even the USA have a small number of the "mobile laboratory" version of the Fuchs in operation, because that seems to be the only such vehicle in NATO use, which is able to detect and analyze chemical, biological and nuclear threats. The Germans are also using the Fuchs for other specialized roles, like a radio jammer version. The point being, the Fuchs is getting old and this might be a fitting replacement. Patria, or whatever the name of the producer of this is, should think about developing a mobile laboratory and a radio jammer version. The German Army has the Boxer 4x4 now, but that thing is way bigger and heavier than the Fuchs, kind of overkill for such specialized roles, so having a smaller alternative and a direct replacement for the Fuchs might be interesting for them.
This Patria 6 x 6 is designed based on the Patria (Sisu) XA-180 (Pasi) series. The first XA-180 was made in 1980. This is a more affordable version of it. All these APCs look more or less Russian BTR, which has been produced since 1960.
The Bundeswehr is actually testing the Patria 6x6 to replace the Fuchs because of the design commonality and driving characteristics these vehicles share.
You have no idea what you are talking about. 8x8 was the first real application of the modular 4gen APC platform. It was manufactured in thousands across 30 equipment versions and types. Also, it's battle-proven.
BTR Lazar 3 is more suitable for the gendarmerie, internal troops, the national guard, but not for the army, the installation of glass blocks in the body, very much weakens it, it is a potential vulnerability that will be fired
Patria also has a significant drawback is a huge panoramic glass in the driver's cabin, it will be there to shoot large-caliber machine guns and large-caliber sniper rifles with armor-piercing ammunition
Swedish SEP wash modern, Patria is old. Mr Reinfeld tell us the logic about sweden bying Patria when SEP ws modern och based on Tech from Stridsfordon 90????????????????????????????????????????????
The Finns are testing thier new rally car!

How many troops does one carry?

What is the deal with this bundle of wires hanging on the side of the vehicle?

Yep, I missed that first time around.
@@shanerooney7288 Me too actually, only went back and looked because of your comment. Gotta stop watching everything on 2x speed. Input.
Yes, test and evaluation period

Mass Effect Vehicle, Nice
I'm glad we have your channel to inform, the Aus govt doesn't have a clue what their defence policy is. China, now you chance.
Looks a lot like the Sisu XA-180 type.
Thats its big brother...
Looks like an.Alvis Stalwart to me from 50 years ago.
it's a button for it.
6x6 has been back in fashion for a while now
I was just thinking the very same thing, what happened to Alvis?
At least this has doors rather than having to climb through the roof hatches. Guess it isn't amphibious like the stalwart was, hopefully a transmission that doesn't wind up when on tarmac as well.
@Draken even better then, to be fair looks like it could swim!

Looks a little bit as old Pasi XA-180
because it is just basically an upgraded and modernized PASI
barış içinde kulanın.. sevgilli kardeşlerimiz.. fin halkı
Needs subtitles.
Lazar 3 ? 🤒🤣😥🇫🇮💪
不错的越野车
Looks same as the old one.
And thats about it. Everything else is new design.
Памперсы не замерзли?
Develop some for civilian use.
Technically you can purchase one, though you require special license to drive it in Finland if i recall right.. also you need to be pretty rich as one of those costs pretty penny.
Prisioner carrier lol
2 mln PLN for so-called "Basic" which does not include tactical equipment nor weaponry.
Blitar kota patria.. hahaha
They never allow real soldiers to test vehicles.
Of course they do, domestic ones naturally and friendly foreign ones when their country is looking for new vehicles and opening a selection for participants to enter. The real soldiers are not posting videos on youtube. Why on earth would any armed force do vlog about all the zillion things they are testing :D

LAZAR 3💪 SERBIEN🇷🇸🇷🇸💪
Srbija Srbima much better! (For the money)

Lazar 3 is better
Dex Dex No
Different vehicle category, idiotic comparison.
Dimetropteryx Patria is better
Sorry but Abrams is better then Lazar 3
For that use Patria has the more expensive AMV, which is the most widely exported contemporary wheeled IFV/multi-role APC in the world.
They just copied the Stalwart
This is not funny.
The 6x6 is based on the Finnish made APC PASI(XA-180) from the 80s.
