PLEEEEASE turn down the volume on your background music! It's great, but it makes watching the video at one volume impossible when other people are in the house. You know I love ya!
@@francisbombus3949 I'm mainly talking about when the background music is louder than the person talking. It hard to understanding what they are saying.
2nd that. The music files, at least, from RUclips library has max volume at almost 0db. I usually give them -12db to-18db depending on the music and scene, make them peak around -18db while voice track at -12db. I didn't know about these numbers in the beginning so I recorded a clip of new broadcast and took the voice level of -12db from that.
I agree with Dave on music. When you use 6X7, since you have a camera with a mirror up option, I will use that function since it has a big mirror, which sometimes affects the image.
Great results! Couple things that might help for next time. If your camera has mirror lockup, it helps keep things sharp (don’t think Pentax 67 has it though). Also, instead of putting your lens at infinity, maybe try to use hyperfocal distance, by setting your infinity mark at the smallest F stop you are using (ie F22). If you set your focus point to infinity, your not maximizing your depth of field.
@@Haitian_Vagabond you need to press the DOF preview switch on the camera, normally located on or near the lens. For some cameras, it’s also used for stop down metering.
great vid, love that location! i just borrowed my friends P67, the timing of this vid release couldn’t have been any better. thank you for the inspiration as always!
Just need to clear something. First time using shuttle release cable. I can still use it with a selected shutter speed. Like 1/10 or 1/30.? I don't have steady hands.
Can you do a video on that light meter app .....tried to understand it and play with it on my digital camera before i trust it on my film but i seem to get over exposed images
I just LOVE Pentax 6x7. I wish I will be able to afford one soon. Beautiful shots btw. But I would've picked Ektar100, I think it's the best for golden hour shots
You getting scared by that statue reminded me of myself because there's a statue of a guy sitting down reading at the library near me and I it scares me EVERY time because it's in the entrance but it's not obvious because you have to turn to walk in and it's just sitting right there like in your face lmao
Photo's look good! Also, thanks for suggesting the light app. I downloaded it for android and it's a must have. My rangefinder's light meter is broken.
Great images but they would have probably been sharper if you focused at the hyperfocal distance. For the 105mm at f22 it would be around 8.5 meters. There are plenty of apps that help with calculating the hyperfocal at every aperture, I use them all the time when shooting 120
@@KingJvpes @VeloRydr also makes the same comment. Exploiting the hyperfocal distance is the right way to do it. On many manual lenses, the depth of focus at each aperture is often marked, so it is easy to use. One more thing is that optical diffraction can reduce sharpness for very small apertures, so you may also need to take this into account. The smallest spot on the film measured in micrometres is approximately f-number x 4/3. Thus, for example, at f/22 this is about 29 µm or 0.00115 inches.
I like that you continue to pursue that elusive shot. Keep that spark going and providing great content. Maybe try making video of macro photography, stop action or star trails? #MinoltaGang.
I cheer his argument to go out and shoot, if just to stay in practice. I suffer from the same problem of getting in a rut and need to take his advice. As to his Pentax 67, I wonder if he realizes that the prism he removed for this video has a built-in TTL meter powered from the camera. It's a very accurate meter and avoids the use of those sketchy phone apps. He also has the mirror release which allows you to compose your image, then manually release the mirror to its "up" position, if you are worrying about the adverse effect of mirror slap. (Never store the camera with the mirror locked up, as this function continues to draw power from the battery, and it can drain a battery in less than 24 hours.) For various reasons, the 105mm lens would not make my list of landscape lenses, but if the only one you've got, so be it. The 75mm 4.5 and 55mm 4.0 are exceptional.
I love your videos! But the difference in volumes between your music and your voice always makes me turn the volume up and down which gets super inconvenient
I've shot Lomo 100 on our Pentax and have mixed results. The first rolls were good, but some rolls I picked up last year has some crazy grain. Hope you are careful removing the prism the chain that connects to the lens can get damaged.
A 105mm is equivalent to approximately 60 mm in 35 format- would you be shooting these images with a 60mm lens if you were shooting in 35 format? Focal length aside, the 2.4 aperture is fairly useless for landscapes unless you are looking for no depth of field. Closed down a couple stops is far more common for landscapes. Heck, a headshot at 5.6 will only get you nose to ears in focus. Almost. When folks see the 105 2.4 bandied about all they think of is how fast and sharp the lens is without bothering to figure actual usage. Both a 90 2.8 and the 55 mm are better choices.
Great video. You would get better depth of field putting the infinity mark at F22 and not focusing at infinity. Or Hyperfocal Focusing would be good too. Just a thought. Great shots.
Actually, both are the same! jajaj hyperfocal is just focus in the closest distance possible that mantains the infinity focus sign of the lens in the limit of the focus range, according on what focal lenght and diaphragm you are using. :)
You took out the prism finder without lens then you put thr lens...that is how you break thr coupling chain (happened to me and paid 200 bucks to get it repaired). Seat the prism THEN the lens. Never take off the prism finder with the lens on.
What a beast of a camera compared to my little Bessa :-D Cool images man, I really dig the statue one. By the way did you count for the reciprocity failure of the film?
Didn't know you're a Filipino too, I've been watching your vlogs since I got my first analog which was the Nikon F3... I've been enjoying it ever since! Thank you for being one of the film vloggers! #FilmIsAlive
Hey man, good on you for getting out there. Landscapes have to be one of the most rewarding types of photography when printed large and seeing thsoe results. Check out work from guys like Alex Burke. Keep it up
I am fearing that cable release will whip against the lens front element. And extending that tripod that all the way with out first using the legs put the heavy weight 6x7 at risk of tipping over speaker fiddle like a rapper lots of hand nivements and fumbling this will happen sooner or later. Much growth and exploration to do good luck. This is my bread and butter gear for areo photography my once upon if time paycheck

was about to mention the MLU myself, great tip! BTW there is a version of the Pentax 6x7 that actually has the MLU (fortunately I got this version).

The King of camera slaps.
Putting out another banger of a photography video, love watching your videos man

That golden hour light though!! 😎😎😎
Hey KJ! Your words ring true. Thanks for sharing your video. I always carry my film camera everywhere I go. You never know what you capture.
Great video! ESP the one with the “lady.” Haha. Question, how do you set the ASA if you only have the waist level viewfinder?
love it man. always important to keep fresh with doing new things! btw you're no landscape rookie, those shots were killer

Fishing and Photography in the same video!! you sir get a like.
I love your videos so much. You take great photos with film 🎞 cameras ! Keep up the good work !
What tripod was he using ?
I have a question. Why did you choose f22 over the other options available on the app. I have a problem understanding why you choose certain f stops
Haha, I totally thought that was a person too!
The two photos at 7:48 look dope! Try Velvia 50 next time, it's amazing for that kind of work.
Hey dude. Just wondering where you got that grip for the Pentax?
Love the shots bro. Did you use the mirror lock up for these shots? I'm looking into getting a 6x7 with the mirror lock up in the near future.
So good, dude. More landscape videos!
That’s a cool spot, and the photos looked great.
how come the images are not upside down when in landscape in the veiwfinder?
Hahaha “excuse me miss lady you scared the living shit out of me”, dope shots they turned out great, I really like the color that film produces!

hi, is that medium format?
