    Macbeth comparing his enemies to snakes brings to mind Matthew 10:16 "Be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves."
    Macbeth was as harmful as a venomous snake, but was a bit of a bird brain, all things considered.

      Not wise as serpent at all. Bird brain? That's a better idea.

      @@NibblePop Macbeth was clever in the way a drug addict is clever. He could figure out how to become King of Scotland, but not how to not hurt himself or those he loves.
      The best clue that he's not very bright is when he is interacting with the Weird Sisters, who are performing literal necromancy, and threatens them with "an everlasting curse" if they don't tell him what he wants to know. On a straightforward level, it's like me threatening to beat up a mixed martial arts champion, and when you remember "weird" meaning "uncanny" comes from the modern understanding of this play, and that at the time of the writing the term was still more related to the Norse concept of "Wyrd," meaning "fate" or "destiny." He's literally cursing fate, cursing the Three Fates, as if that would DO anything.

    Ma'am in my opinion Macbeth is hiding things from his wife because he became egoistic and thinks he doesn't need anybody's approval before doing anything.

      And perhaps he subconsciously wishes to protect her soul from further damage

    Mam in 12:03 , Macbeth has invited Banquo by saying that Lady Macbeth will give him special attention...which sense is meant here by the phrase 'special attention' ?

    • @NibblePop
      @NibblePop  3 года назад

      Well he apparently meant special treatment in the sense that Bandho was his nearest mate. But actually this is ironic because Banquo would be dead soon

      @@NibblePop but he might have said we have arranged a special treatment or attention whatever is said or he might have told Banquo that a special arrangement is waiting for you...something like that...but he said he will be given a special attention by Lady M.
      Somehow is Macbeth trying to tempt Banquo for inviting him in the castle by using the weak point of every men having natural attraction towards anti gendered person ?
      As he could have done anything, could go deepest of any depth to achieve what he wanted.

      @@smitarahaman8430 ouch, that's a really unique angle here. Hey, why not. I guess you have unfolded a mystery for me here dear. However, you must remember that Macbeth is talking about these things to lady M and not Banquo. This is more like a result of his guilty mind leading to these verbal slips.

    May be there were three murderers because somehow Shakespeare wanted to symbolize those 3 witches as 3 murderers..
