  • Roadblock after roadblock with our RV Renovation. We FINALLY get the water leaks stopped. Which means we can move forward with wall repairs and paint. Now to remove the large mirror in the kitchen (galley area). Will this RV Reno ever end? For more on RV Living
    We get the peel-and-stick wallpaper put in, paint the walls, install peel-and-stick tiles in the kitchen and move towards getting flooring in - sort of - unless we have an issue with the slide and the flooring not getting along.....
    Watch to see what happens and stay tuned to the end for a sneak peek of what's to come next week.

    Just a suggestion: maybe the leak is coming from the slide seals. Wether it be on top or the sides, those rubber gaskets don't seal properly over time. Many new slides are tripling the rubber all around so no matter how hard it rains, one, if not more, of the layers stop leaks. I am so worried about leaks on slides while I am shopping for the right one. One way to test for leaks is using a air compressor to blow on joints to see if any air comes through the other side. Another way is using a bright flashlight at night to see if any light gets through. Great video and I have a tremendous amount of respect for all the work you are doing.

    Per husband do not use mineral spirits to clean, use denatured alcohol to clean. Mineral spirits leaves an oil residue. Love you guys!

    I am not a painting professional but I am a carpenter by trade and I am appreciating watching your remodel of your rig. I did notice that you were using a 12 inch roller for your paint you need to learn how to use weenie rollers 2 inch 3“ and 6 inch. They very inexpensive and really cut down the time to apply paint to a job. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Thomyt

    If the water leak was in fact coming in from the screws, your fix will not hold. That drip rail needs to be removed and cleaned up and reinstalled using the rolled sealer like you use to install a roof vent.

    Your renovation is looking great! I had to replace part of my slide floor (wet similar to your walls). Wanted to do that type of laminate but my slide sits on top of my floor so it was going to be very tricky getting the transition to work.

    Hey it looks great, can't wait to see the finished result. I just redid the floors in my Disco as well, I have to put sliders down so it doesn't scratch the floor when moving the slides in and out. Works great. Quick question. Are your windows tinted? If so, did you guys have it done. My windows are not tinted and I think tinted windows might help with the summer time temps inside the coach.

    We just bought a Fleetwood Bounder and it looks like in the bedroom some of the wallpaper is coming down? In your bedroom did you paint over the wallpaper or peel off the old?
    Also what type of paint did you use? Was it a one coat?
    I love the videos! Thank you so much!

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад +1

      Hey there! If your wall paper is coming down, check for any water leaks. Wallpaper in an Rv is actually more of a vinyl coating so you want to paint over it. I used a Behr Marquee one coat hide paint from Home Depot. Best of luck on your Reno!

      @@GratefulGlamper thank you we will start looking for the leaks. We just picked it up so we haven’t gone through everything. The wallpaper that is peel and stick does well adhering to the wall? We have a lot of humidity where we live!

    The remodel looks great. I had to laugh because I used colored pencil to touch up spots on our laminate wood cabinets also. It does work better than the wood cover up pens. How many coats of paint did you have to use on your walls?

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад

      We only used one coat of paint. The paint is a Behr Marquee One coat hide so it doesn’t need more than 1 coat!

    Never use linoleum flooring any place you have a slide... NEVER!! its way to soft.. the rollers will rip it..
