    what is the expected life time of a motor like this in a ford focus or b-max?

  • @RaciocinioPlease
    @RaciocinioPlease 8 лет назад +1

    Great video,excellent job!...I am stuck between a focus with an ecoboost of 74 kw or bigger ecoboost with 99kw...do you feel like the 74kw is enough for mainly town driving? This bmax does look too lazy with it...focus is not so much bigger...

    • @SuperchargedMagazine
      @SuperchargedMagazine  8 лет назад +2

      First of all thank you very much. The Focus with 74kW might be alright but i would buy the more powerful version if the price difference is not that huge. We drove a 2016 Ford Focus Station Wagon with 92kW. It was perfect for the city and also good on the Autobahn. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/TkJE30hfQr4/видео.html Greetings ;)

      thanks a lot man for the link..It is very useful...BTW...many people argue that the eco-boost motors are not designed to live long enough (300000+ km)...have you had any experiences or heard bad about the life or such motors in general-...? thanks

      someone on a forum had the 3.5 ecoboost in an f150 it has over 482000 km not the same engine but same principle .my 1.0 fiesta has over 80k and so far seems to be the most solid thing about the car .

    If you would drive at this speed in France:
    1.You would lose your Driver's license on the spot for going +50km/h over the speed limit on highways (130km/h)!
    2.You'd get a category 4 ticket of €1500 if it is you first time; €3750 if you did it before!
    3.If you had a previous category 4 ticket you can go to jail up to 3 months and your car can be confiscated.
    4.You won't be able to retake your driver's License exam for 3 years!
    5.To retake you Driver's license after 3 years, you'll need to spend about €2000 for 20 hours of driving classes at a driving school, pass a written test, and a road test.
    In France half people fail their first attempt and have to pay an extra 10 hours at €50/hour.
    Don't you feel lucky to be German?

    • @SuperchargedMagazine
      @SuperchargedMagazine  8 лет назад +3

      +will10024 Wow, that's harsh. If you drive 70+km/h over the speed limits outside towns you ''only'' lose your license temporarily for 3 months, pay 600€ and get 2 ''penalty'' points. At 8 points you lose it permanently, unless you take a test, which determines if you are psychologically able to drive. Colloquially Germans call it ''Idiot Test''.

      here in virginia you get arrested for going 100mph but you can still text its fucking retarded .

    • @wumpty93
      @wumpty93 5 лет назад

      @Geloof Hoop en Liefde In the UK you have 6 points as a new driver which then get's upgraded to 12 points after 2 years. Going over the speed limit by 11+ mph on a motorway gets you 3 points and 50% of your weekly income taken away from you in a fine.
      21+mph over the limit gets you 4-6 points and 100% of your weekly income taken away from you in a fine.
      Finally going 31+ over the limit get you 6 points and 150% of your weekly income taken away from you in a fine. The speed limit for motorways are 70mph but nobody does it making the average pushed up to 80-90+ and very rarely 100+ if you're brave enough. The maximum fine for speeding on the motorway is £2500 and £1000 if done on any other road.

    What is the range of this car, on a full tank?

    • @deprisonne
      @deprisonne 8 лет назад +2

      +Tom Jardine I own the 1.0 EcoBoost 120hp variant since early 2014. Depending on how you drive it you reach 600-800km (370-500 miles). If you drive mostly on country roads at 70-100kph (45-60mph) or in the city the car is at it's best taking around 5l/100km (56 mpg[UK]). If you drive mostly on highways and stay under 130kph (80mph) you will get around 6.5l/100 km (43 mpg[UK]). If you drive it at top speed (~120mph) for a longer period of time it will not burn but consume a lot of fuel: 11l/100km (25mpg).
      Again these numbers only apply to constant loads. The car consumes the least when you drive at optimal speeds, high gears and when you accelerate quickly to target speed and stay there.
