I had one recently where two properties had issues with dripping tun-dish one was the expansion vessel so quick fix the other one had the cold and expansion connection piped the wrong way round.. fair few years old so im surprised that one wasn't picked up before but then again these unvented cylinders seem to slip under the radar.. Would be good to get a video of you servicing a combination valve.
I had a Vaillant in the loft that did the same thing with the condensate pipe. They only got it rectified after the roof leaked when the lead flashing corroded. Soil vent was 2 metres away 😂
I did exactly the same thing on a unvented recently. They were in the middle of nowhere so I said I’ll do all 3 as prevention is better than the cure. Two other people had been before me. Couldn’t work that one out. Top video mate!
Good idea putting a bend on the concrete pipe,I’ll be trying that out as I have move that pipe were it can be cleaned and checked this is working, as they original was on the wall that I’m now covered with a bulkhead for my walk-in shower .👍👍👍🏴🏴 Happy St George’s Day🏴🏴🏴
Ive got almost the exact same job to do. Fernox TF1 filter is leaking from all seals but i found a new/old stock one on ebay for £65. Auto air vent aswell but its a system boiler so that poxy pipe is not in the way😁👍🏼
Had a plumber friend go to a Worcester last week for a service... Took the case off and got a sudden smell of gas. British Gas serviced it 4 years ago and left the test point open (on the gas valve i think). His question to me was (i am a joiner) why did it not explode?
Ignition is sealed within burner so no form of ignition and gas has to have correct mix with air to cause an explosion 5-15% if remember right… them lucky thou to be honest
I know, stepped back at end and don’t know why I did so much 40mm 😅 always like to come off a stack connection in bigger bore pipe just to stop anything blocking them up
@@stepbackandthink if that don’t get boxed in il eat my hat, already said In video and on comment didn’t like the way it looked in end but I always post everything I do good or bad
@@bluebulldog_uk I can imagine, literally changed a main hex on a junior last job today in Aldridge, hex was straightforward but trying to get the electrode connections off was just pain and frustration.
@@smartboilercompany1983 them connections can be an absolute pain sometimes someone suggested long nose spark plug pliers before to help get them off not tried it yet thou
Anyone had an install that they have had to put right? Let me know in the comments
Thanks you all again for your support much appreciated 🙌👍

Thanks mate appreciate the support 🙌👍
Yes mate thanks for the mention! 🙌🏾 It's so frustrating that worcester make a simple task like an aav into a pig of a job! Great video man 👊🏾
No problem mate, saw you had a nightmare with one and it really was an absolute pain you wasn’t lying 😂🙌👍
Great tip with the benders I did not know that 😮
Thanks mate, only learnt that one myself about 18 months ago
I always do my best but there is always someone better
Screwfix use to sell the oring kits they were selling them off about 2 years ago for £1.98 I got 2 as spears
Top job Luke. You can’t be too careful. ❤
Thanks mate 🙌👍
Condense was leaking??
I had a chain wrench on mine I couldn’t get the top off gave it up I need to swap it out in the summer
Never knew you could use the bender on the condense pipe cheers. I don’t know how these installers get away with such bad work. Another great video 👍
Thanks mate, yeah when I found out that tip 18 months ago changed the way I do them now 👍
Personally, i always fit a tundish with a built-in NRV when connecting into a soil pipe

Happy at George’s day pal thanks for the support 🙌👍

That pipe is a pain! Glad it isn’t in way for you…fernox TF1 leaking is not a surprise, only have to look at them and they leak 😂👍
Love that condense 😮😮
Nice job o that condense mate👍👍
Thanks mate 👍
BG management love the worcesters! Us engineers hate them! The plastic is crap and just leaks like crazy now
I've come across junior's were they have left the plug in the expansion hole , so it's never had any expansion
Seen a few of them on my travels as well 👍
The Aav the lug at the back is so you can put a long screwdriver on it and twist. 2 min job 👍👌
Il try again next time around, I have used that technique before on other Worcester’s but you can’t get it in the pipework is just ridiculous around
Nothing like making it easy for you guys lol
Always take the pump head off - makes it 10x easier to get into the AAV, even on the Greenstar ErP models which are a bit easier.
Only hear for the Woosta comments 😂
Best boilers ever, what’s wrong with you all !
#yamyam!
😂 this one is crap design 😂

Yes 40 cdi today 22mm gas looked in book and it says 20 miebar no way did he have that lol
Never mess about with unvented bits always worth replacing as call backs are not a good look.
Yeah call backs always end up costing in long run
😊😊😊😊😊
🙌👍
🤘😎🤘

Worcester is no different than a ferrari everything sharp under the bonnet 🤣🤣🤣
Rip your hands to shreds sometimes they do
Tbf you could have just used 21.5mm to that stack as its internal.
Yup. That was an ugly installation.
@@stepbackandthink as my dad always used to say, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows arse lol 😂

Worcester boilers really can be a pain, so be of the designers must never have worked on a boiler in there life.
Went up to Worcester and asked them if there repair engineers help design them, apparently not 😂

Why do engineers continue to recommend Worcesters 🤦♂️ horrendous to work
Stupid place for auto air vent
I hate Worcester boilers almost as much as ideal. They haven’t been designed by a repair engineer.
Poor design on that AAV and always end up with cuts whenever I repair a Worcester
And black eyes
Which combi would you recommend, ive been recommended gloworm engery 7. But not too sure about it..
Mate you look tired in this video.
Long hours mate, slowing down a bit now so can catch up with myself 👍
