Just wanted to say this one is one of my favorites of your vids (amongst the ones I have seen so far). The way it is structured, starting with a run on the basic chord forms followed by the harmonics played in arpeggio and then tackling the impro. This approach makes a lot of sense to me personally and I find it helps understanding what we are doing and why we are doing this way. And that is turn makes it stick in my bad old brain. ( watching this vid over and over again also made me fall in love with that Kanji of yours. Now I want the exact same one Soooo baaad!). Thank you !

Find the choice of this Charlie Parker blues, to illustrate the material covered, to be excellent too. Around 30 years ago I was listening a lot to Bird's work. They're oldies, but still a lot of good stuff to pick up, such as in this example the very clever way in which he uses the Bflat M7 followed by a B flat m7. I had suscribed to GW for 2 or 3 months before Oct, and will likely join again. I put it on pause as I focused on some classical pieces for a little while. I am stunned you actually take sometime to respond to my mssg here. Very kind of you.

Hi, Tomo. The last 1, 6, 2, 5 you have the 6th playing as D7. Should it be Dmin7 or is either one correct? Thank you so much for your teaching. Im also a wisdom student.
Hi I am late to answer but as Tomo said it can be either dominant quality or minor quality. It works because 6 is the V of ii, you can use 7b9 chord it sounds awesome and is common in jazz.

Mr. Tomo( goat)...i have new pro strat ...i am thinking about putting different pickups in..what would you suggest for blues sound like srv..i was thinking fat 50's pickup or Texas special...but also heard of big dipper pickups that are in john Mayer signature strat ..so out of those 3 what would you suggest for best tone?
If u want something like srv and similar to john buy fishman single coils (they can have both 60's voicing as well as tex mex) but only if u dont mind active pickups. Alternatives: John Mayer: Seymour duncan makes jazzy pickups and custom shop models of big dippers Or Klien jazzy kats Or Lollar blackface people say blonde face but blackface are just more like johns pickups. Also getting big dippers nowadays is very tough because his guitars with fender were all limited runs and fender never sold his pickups separartely. Srv: I think to nail his tone fenders taxas specials or tex mex work great or any pickup that has a higher output than usual.
inv, I think Strat pickups usually sound great as they are. I think there are WAY too many people trying to sound like SRV, which they never do, it was all in his fingers and attitude.

チャーリー・パーカー好きのなのでとても参考になりました！とはいえ今の技量では難易度が高すぎて弾けません（笑） （コードは何とか理解できるのですがアルペジオが難しいです）
今取り組んでるのは毎日の運指練習とトライアドを少しずつですが弾くようにしてます。後はスイングしながらB♭ブルースと枯葉のバッキングを。枯葉ではコードを声に出しながら弾くようにしようと考えてます。色々と自分の欠点を考えそうした方が思いました。トライアドでも必ず度数を声に出して覚えるようにしようと思ってます。
紙に書くこと（これはトモ先生の仰っていたことですが）、声に出すことが大事かなと考えました。
このような目まぐるしいコート進行は僕にはまだ早いですね^^;
でもおまけで弾いてくれたコードソロとかとても美しくて感動しました！ウェス・モンゴメリーとか大好きなのでこういったコードソロに憧れます！
これだけ運指が忙しいのに本当にフィンガーノイズが出ないのには驚きです！（DVDやGuitarWisdomでも感じましたが）

Tomo how can you mute when strumming the R37 chord? I find it challenging to mute the high B & E strings. Any solution?

Hi, Tomo. The last 1, 6, 2, 5 you have the 6th playing as D7. Should it be Dmin7 or is either one correct? Thank you so much for your teaching. Im also a wisdom student.

Hi I am late to answer but as Tomo said it can be either dominant quality or minor quality. It works because 6 is the V of ii, you can use 7b9 chord it sounds awesome and is common in jazz.

Mr. Tomo( goat)...i have new pro strat ...i am thinking about putting different pickups in..what would you suggest for blues sound like srv..i was thinking fat 50's pickup or Texas special...but also heard of big dipper pickups that are in john Mayer signature strat ..so out of those 3 what would you suggest for best tone?
If u want something like srv and similar to john buy fishman single coils (they can have both 60's voicing as well as tex mex) but only if u dont mind active pickups. Alternatives:
John Mayer:
Seymour duncan makes jazzy pickups and custom shop models of big dippers
Or
Klien jazzy kats
Or
Lollar blackface people say blonde face but blackface are just more like johns pickups.
Also getting big dippers nowadays is very tough because his guitars with fender were all limited runs and fender never sold his pickups separartely.
Srv:
I think to nail his tone fenders taxas specials or tex mex work great or any pickup that has a higher output than usual.
I prefer the Grinning Dog Pickups from Japan!!
inv, I think Strat pickups usually sound great as they are. I think there are WAY too many people trying to sound like SRV, which they never do, it was all in his fingers and attitude.
i dont play with a pick. i like the feel of using my fingers. is that ok?

I think he’s playing the 1-3-5-maj7 going into the next octave for each chord
Sorry I meant 1-3-5-7 but then depending on the chord each of those are flat/major. He says “triads + 7”
