I'm finding with LumaFusion the biggest learning curve has to do with files, media, all things related to importing exporting. First I had to learn the difference between files on iPad and my files in the cloud. Something simple like that, but if I don't know, I don't know. So it's been a slow progression. If I toggle the external drive, but I don't use the external drive, does that affect my video? Or is external drive just has me covered if I'm using an external drive? Thank you guys, you're all wonderful.
Thank you for this note. Yes, it can be a steep curve, but it sounds like you're tackling it deliberately and smartly. To answer your question--External Drive Editing can be turned on or off, with no effect to your videos or the speed of edit. What it is there for is to enable you to work on big projects without taking up a ton of storage on your edit device. Our Support team are happy to answer any questions you might have--small or large--just pop them a note: lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support'). Happy editing!
Hi thank you. I am new to LumaFusion can I ask -- I am new to video editing….. do you have a particular SSD drive ( size or brand )you would recommend ? I have just purchased a drone and want to do video for some fun. Any suggestions I would appreciate
Hi there, thanks for your interest. In general, any USC-c SSD with read/write speeds of 1050 Mbps or better will work. We recommend you have your drive formatted APFS (iOS likes that format better), and use the data cable that was included with your drive (charge cables will connect, but can't move data fast enough for reliable editing). Here's an article we wrote about it: luma-touch.helpscoutdocs.com/article/211-what-ssd-should-i-get-for-my-lumafusion-projects-and-how-should-i-format-it
At this point there is no practical in/out bus for internet on iOS devices that can move enough data for a real-time edit. If that changes, we'll certainly make it a priority to offer this functionality in LumaFusion.
Is it possible to work local in iPad? I’m trying to import files from other folder to LF and I'm sick of looking for an option that should be easily accessible...
Hey there, the answer is YES. You'll want to use the "Linked Folders" Library source. If you don't see it in the list of sources, tap Add/Edit Sources and drag it across to the "In Use" column. Here's an article about it from our Reference Guide: lumatouch.clickhelp.co/articles/lumafusion-reference-guide-publication/files
If you do not have access to any Mac, you can still use the drive--just be aware there might be performance and data reliability issues when editing on your iOS device. This is why we strongly recommend the APFS format. Wish I had better news for you on that. This is an Apple requirement, not a LumaFusion one.
On my iMac I can’t find any video exported to renders folder. The rendered folder is present but is empty Usually in finder I can see the tendered folder , acess the video and then eg wrote to a dvd . Now I can’t locate the folder in finder. Where is it?
That's no fun. We'll need a bit more information to give you a reliable answer--please reach out to our Support team: lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support'). Thanks and Happy editing!
hello, I GOT A QUESTION... im new on lumafusion after using filmora for long time on windows, now i got a samsung tab s9ultra which include a MicroSD slot, can i store and edit my projects on luma from sd's? thks
Hi there. Yes, you can store your projects there, but you won't be able to edit directly from the SD card in the way described in this video. It functions as a connected archive when used this way, so you'd be able to store your important projects OFF the device's main storage, by exporting a LumaFusion Project Package onto the SD card, then deleting it from the device.
Oh no! If your new device is the same platform as the old one, the download should be free--just log into the same Apple or Play Store ID you used to purchase originally. If you have trouble, get ahold of our Support team: lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support'). Happy editing!
Luma fusion is being a life safe for us, thank you for bringing important information- hello from Arizona

Hello from Brazil
Do not have a Mac to format it. Is there another way or I still can use it without that apfs format with my iPad Pro
