  • For a while I’ve been interested in the idea of writing about writing; stories about the experience of being an author. When I heard about Yellowface, I hoped I had found a great example to study. The book was described as a satire of racial diversity in the publishing industry, and is by R.F. Kuang, already a successful author of the Poppy War trilogy and Babel, which gave me even more hope that this might have been the book I was looking for, but was it? Let’s find out. Spoilers ahead.

    You deserve so much more subs and likes. I just read the book and was looking for an explanation of the ending bc I wasn’t exactly sure, but thank you so much for doing this!! As an Asian myself, I found this book more closer to home as well as it giving me an idea of the writing community.

    I think my opinion on this book soured a little between recording the audio and doing the video editing. That's when I realised the book literally has a Scoobie Do ending!
