Man you are a freaking life saver. I just spent over an hour on the phone with customer service and they couldn’t figure it out how to reset it 😂

Thank you so much! Was given the stick but had a pin lock. Tried one before this that told me to press & hold the back button & the fwd button simultaneously, but all that did was magnify the screen. Must admit, I didn't think this was going to work either, as each time I pressed back, it took me right out the screen, unlike yours, but sure enough after I kept trying, it worked, so my appreciation to you.

My son was stressing me out about this fire stick. I spent about 2 hours trying different methods, this one work. Although I can log into my Amazon account, the firestick wasn't allowing me to use the new passcode. I have the 1st gen fire stick and I only had to do the trick 1 time and the window popped up to reset. I refuse to upgrade when this one works perfectly okay. Thanks so much.

Lifesaver. All their online forum guides couldn't help, and this is the only way it worked. My version has a few more steps to get back to the menu, and it worked after 3 tries.

These apps are fine Defsquid has obviously picked up a false positive in these apps.

@@cwtek1 The only problem i had was that it deleted all of my apps that were presently on my firestick
Thank you so much this works, but if like me and its the older version go to the option to factory reset, when you press the back back button it will take you back to the big main menu with but don't panic go back into my fire tv down to factory reset and again back again. It's a bit more long winded but it did work. Xx
