Labor rate to work on the truck $175 per hour. Then the industry only wants to pay $100 hour to operate the truck. It just doesn't add up. Labor rate to replace your starter should have been half that much in my opinion.
@@DrivingByBrailleYou want a business that you can trust to treat you right so it’s like, yeah I need to get this done or it worse. But I will say this, once you do that starter a half dozen times you will never be afraid of it again.
Wish all the Walmarts had on-site parking. A lot of people complain about Walmart. I've never had an issue. The check in procedure is always the same, and the people actually seem to enjoy their job.
Need to clean the fuel screen likely has algae in the screen. Produce loads are hard on the units. They shutdown for high discharge and the evap usually freezes over due to the moisture from the onions. The temp it's set for it won't initiate a defrost. Try doing manual defrost or stop and run heat temporarily to thaw the coil and then put it in cool.
Nice into and nice hood. It’s amazing how much work these trucks can be and with older models it can be hard to find parts. I’m paying a shop tomorrow for a job I should be able to do myself as well. In short it’s the throttle position sensor. It is not fun to drive when one of those can’t read your throttle position on hills. Hopefully it gets done and then I won’t have to stall for the 6’th time. Glad to see you’re decent 👌
I had to replace one on mine. Wasn't a huge job. I think on the Cascadia you have to replaced the whole pedal? probably on these newer trucks they can be a bitch. Yeah. Does weird things when they go out. I tell people to try and do as much as possible. I really should have done the starter myself. Pretty sure I had all the tools. $1,000 I could've saved. Oh Well.
@@DrivingByBraille Yeah that’s a bummer. I kick myself in the head all the time when I come to realize I should’ve done something sooner. But it happens. Update I my problem I’ve actually blew a head gasket and it was giving it the same symptoms as a faulty TPS would. So now it’s about to get reeeaaaaal expensive…
The heat is not helping out the wildfires out there I seen the fire map be safe driver... I'm at the part where you said you're going to Wisconsin no fire there right now LOL
Are you legal to run in CA? I have the same truck and have been told that I cannot run in CA. Is there still a temporary permit for 1000mi to run pre-emission in CA? Thanks
No I don’t run. Don’t want to run. And I think they can fine you.. or turn you around? Not sure on what they are doing to non-compliant trucks. But I do know they are making it fall on the broker. So unless you send in a carb complaint letter or whatever they are asking for. Now, if you’re leased onto a carrier who has carb complaint trucks and brokers already know your carrier is good, might be able to sneak in? Be interesting to know
Thanks! I wanted to put another coat on it. Will do that when I go home and hopefully they have the paint back in stock. And then throw a clear coat on her.
Was set at 55° but did not know that. It’s not doing it now. Does it have to be set below a certain temp? I dropped it to 40 and it went into defrost come to think of it
I think there is a video. But I was trying to change the starter on the Mack. Had 2 extensions on it. was using a power ratchet. ended up losing the bolt to the started, but also ran the ratchet right into the Oil filter housing, couldn't switch directions because the switch is on the back of the ratchet. Was new to all this. Ended up cracking the aluminum oil filter housing trying to get it out. Never did. Ended up taking it to a shop. Had to pull the turbo, EGR cooler and exhaust to get to the filter housing. Was an expensive ordeal.
Like the intro
I've hauled produce my whole career.... Loading hot onions is completely normal. Unless it's winter 😂
Staging lot like a real business. What a novel approach!

Agree. It was a stupid move and regret not doing it myself.

Walmart for the win🎉

If it is set at 60 degrees that is why it won’t defrost
