Cebuanos speak so much English, way more than the Tagalogs... i was born and i grew up in Quezon City metro manila by the way.. so you will just be fine in Cebu.

This is true. I am from manila and all of my relatives are from cebu. When I talk to my cousins we use english and not tagalog cos they’re more comfy to use it.
Cebuano kids speaks English more than Tagalog... These kids have problem in Filipino classes. 😂😂😂

Cebu City was the first Philippines' capital during Spanish period and oldest city (1565). There is the oldest street named Colon Street.
Sinulog Festival is held every 3rd Sunday of January in Cebu City.
Hope to visit Magellan's Cross, Basilica Minore de Santo Niño, Fort San Pedro and more.

I've been there in Cebu City last year and I celebrate my 31st birthday there in solea hotel and resort in Cordova but sadly I never seen the sinulog festival for over 24 years
I think it’s more specific if you use “Cebuano” instead of bisaya/visaya because there are a lot of different types of Visayan language including Capiznon, Masbateño, Hiligaynon, Romblomanon and too many to mention. Cebuano specifically is derived from the island of Cebu. Also there’s a lot of words similarities between Cebuano and Spanish language. They are also fluent in English but I bet some of them are just too shy to talk.
Next to Chavacano, the language in Visayas: Cebuano and Hiligaynon, has more Spanish words than the our national language which is Tagalog. 😊

It's okay even if you don't speak Bisaya. Cebuanos knows how to speak english very well. In fact i find them a much better English speaker compared to the Luzon area.

WOW! So glad my favorite kambal are in my home island of ubec (cebu spelled reversely) hahaha. Cebu City is the 2nd largest and important city next to Manila so basically it's not very provincial esp if you're around the downtown, midtown and uptown areas of the city where a lot of things are happening but once you move outside the city center, you'll be thrilled to find out you're just minutes away from cool mountain enclaves in Busay Hills or to the luxurious beach resorts in Mactan Island. Also, since Cebu is the first Spanish settlement in the country, you'll discover lots of the oldest streets, churches, houses and buildings built by the Spaniards back in the days. Anyways, Maayong Pagabot sa Sugbo! Bienvenidos a Cebu! Welcome to Cebu!

You should go to the Crown Regency's Sky Experience Adventure. You can walk on a ledge around the building (with harness) or ride an edge coaster ride. There's a zipline also that takes you to the other tower. Scary, but memorable.
You'll get a certificate and if you want, pictures.

Cebu is one of my favourite places to visit in the Philippines! I’ve never been to the airport though. I’ve always took a ferry from Bohol which is around 40 minutes I think

Hola Luna y Sol bienvenido a la isla de Cebu. Soy de Cebu. Hay muchas lugares a visitar en la mismo ciudad lugares historico como Magellan's Cross en la Basilica de Sto. Nino, fuerte de San Pedro, mas viejo fuerte en Filipinas y mas viejo calle es en Cebu tambien, la calle colon. En la montana en la ciudad puedes a ir a Taoist Temple en Beverly Hills y Temple of Lea en Lahug tambien y lejos arriba en la montana, hay Sirao Gardens (hermoso jarden de flores). Lo siento mi espano no esta bien, solo tratando practicar mi espanol. If you want to go South of Cebu island, you can pass by Carcar, known for its delicious lechon. And there is an old church in Carcar you can see in the walls tombs of old Cebuanos with inscriptions en the 'lapidas' still written in spanish. Our ancestor here in Cebu were fluent in spanish como mi abuelo y abuela. I also had spanish subjects in school during the 80s. You can also visit a huge Church in the South after Carcar City, Sibonga Shrine of Mary and far South you can swim with the whales in Oslob or go canyonering going to Kawasan Falls in Badian. Many bloggers always feature canyonering to Kawasan Falls. You can also go the the highest elevated mountain in Cebu, the Osmena Peak. Have Fun in Cebu ladies.

Cebu looks exhausting. Still it is good see it, especially for people from countries who do not have a lot buildings and big roads. Cebu can be nice. But Dumaguete, which is a few hours away is just better. Cebu feels like it is so big. But I glad to have seen it many times.

We just spent 2 weeks in Cebu City, in July 2023. Horrible place. Deep Poverty, Extrame Dirt, idiotic public policies, irritating and annoying, constantly backed up traffic. Tourist attractions are scaled-down and most are very disappointing, some are almost rip off level.
Realistically, 90 % of Cebu City is unbearable. 5 % is okay and only 5 % is nice.
We will avoid this city in the future, like plague.
I could give you a dozen examples, but it'd be "whining"..haha
Bohol especially or even Dumagete is far more livable and foreign tourist/expat friendly.
