@@simondolak6534 yup, If I had to guess it would be about 6-7 in buffers. I don’t think the buffer has been leaked. Then it could hold about the same in the buffers but less actual boxes. The size of the buffer is "software-based" so it can be changed. Expect some drama, a new meta at launch then a nerf ... Effectively, a medium size salvage ship would have been logical between the solo Vulture and the very large Reclaimer. But in fact, the Vulture has work for two crews if you take into account the cargo management and the components salvaging.
With the Vulture being ~2.7 mil, if the Fortune is more than 1.5 mil it just won't make sense IMO. Even then, the Vulture will still be a better choice because you can do basic component scavenging with the extra space alongside the cargo grid.
@Kayabis I hope from a pledge prospective it’s in with the starters. Ideally 100 or less. But, they’ll mess it up and just keep the price the same as the Prospector.
@@Guardian_Templar i realy think that the fortune could be a great ship to get into the salvage gameplay but i feel like they are just gonna give it a more previse scraper than the vulture and maybe a bit more cargo space on grid and say there you go for 150 bucks or more so yeah they are probably gonna mess up this oportunity
I'm excited for the Fortune. and hoping that it's slightly larger and more expensive than the vulture... just because my Vulture can't be melted and I want to swap it for the Fortune if at all possible. If it's cheaper, then I need to figure out what to melt, what else to upgrade to it, and what to do with my Vulture. If the theories that the cargo grids hold 12 SCU each win out, that's 24 externally plus whatever is held in the hopper. I'm assuming the cockpit and hab are one combined unit like the Propector. It'd be nice to have some cargo storage internally in-back but I suspect that door in the teaser just leads to engineering and component access. You were right about talking about the axis of the grid. For a ship, the x-axis is the width, y-axis is the height, z-axis is the length. When you corrected yourself in editing, you changed the POV to that of the viewer, looking from the side, rather than the ship.
it gives me the impression that the side panels can be moved in some kind of mechanism... between the pads you can see foldable structures. but i have no idea how this can be equipped with the boxes, especially if it is to be automated.
Might open (extend) like the Hull series so that it has more SCU storage than it looks. There’s no way you’re going to have to load this thing from the outside. Would be neat if the cargo fins rotate so that the printer can fill all of them up. Those ridges between the squares could also be conveyors that pull the boxes up onto the cargo area as they’re printed . We NEED a mid size salvage ship between Vulture and Reclaimer. Would be dumb just to make a MISC version of the Vulture.
It is a good example of why Star Citizen is taking so long to develop. They said previously that that were not planning a comveyor belt system and would stick to the manual/tractor beam cargo management that exist and is well developed. But suddenly, for one specific ships after tens of cargo and indutrial ships without it, TATA ! A conveyor belt system appears ! So they seem to have done the R&D investment anyway only for one ship knowing that means it will be asked by backers on old ships and future housing. Expect some frustration from backers who just had a Citizen Con without this feature announced.
I think a lot will depend on the hopper size and the price on the ship. At a glance it's very underwhelming when you consider the practical cargo size of the Vulture rather than the on-paper one. If it has a 12 SCU hopper, it would need to be priced accordingly in-game and as a pledge. I feel like they missed an opportunity to make the center part a 4-sided rotating spindle. With 4 x 6 SCU storage and 12 in the hopper, it's on par with the Vulture. You give up a bit of potential for convenience. If the grids can store 2 deep, that would work too. But that seems unlikely if this is intended to be a conveyor belt sort of deal.
@@synapticsqueeze3380 a rotation spinal would be very cool. I feel like they’ll keep the pledge the same as the Prospector and miss the mark. I look forward to being wrong but we’ll see.

That doesn't seem very MSIC with tedium of having to do that outside management. Hoping that is a conveyer grid.
