    Thanks Chad. The RDB is a great rifle and demos like this one make it more user friendly.

    I own a typical AR15 but the RDB looks very intellectually made, that said I love it.

    I’ve been very happy with my RDB17, I bought the RDB m-lok front handguard from Keltec & use a YHM Turbo T2 suppressor. Using a 5x power fixed optic from Primary Arms for a sight works well enough for me. Been happy with the handling & the accuracy from the RDB17.

      @@duMaurier15 Most likely you need to adjust the gas on it. When I first got mine it wouldn't cycle properly and would chew up rounds. I adjusted the gas and now it runs flawlessly.

    This gun has always looked awesome to me, but I got to hold one in a store today. I freaking love how it feels. It looks new, but it's used for $799 with flipup Magpul sights. I love my P11 and love my 1st & 2nd gen Sub2000 Keltecs.

    Love the Lucky Irishman bolt catch release lever. Game changer. The bolt release is too hard to push down, even using both sides together. The Lucky Irishman release lever releases with an upward palm strike on the lever. 😎👌

    • @Erick_Bloodaxe
      @Erick_Bloodaxe Год назад +1

      The trick is to reach over the top and press them both downward, that worked fine for me. That being said, the Lucky Irishman lever is, in fact, a game changer and a worthy purchase. Plus you can still do the over the top move with it too, if for some reason you decide to do that (like if you switch hands).

    • @sarge12212
      @sarge12212 Год назад +2

      @@Erick_Bloodaxe yea, mine was too tight, for the over-the-top move. I'm sure it would have loosened up. But you can insert the mag and bump the Lucky Irishman mag release in one fluid motion.

    Should update your manual. RDB manual shows there are only two screw for the front optics rails and screw 162 to fasten 105 which is different from the gun I received and the one shown. And the torque spec for the optics rail screw should be around 15-20 in lb/torque

    If someone owns one of these check the rail at the rear for movement, KelTec claims is normal and refused to resolve. Asked me to pay for shipping, send in with a note and they would look at it in person. Appreciate over a millimeter in either direction is normal according to Lynn and their gun smiths.

    so, ive been wanting this gun, but there is a few changes i would make if possible for second gen?
    make the grip replaceable with ar grips
    have a way to check the chamber
    float the barrel
    and you look like you would have an amazing gun no one could deny

    • @Erick_Bloodaxe
      @Erick_Bloodaxe Год назад +1

      Take the mag out, stick a finger in the chamber, done. Remove mag, cycle bolt, look in mag well, this is all it takes. More inconvenient than a normal rifle where you can just turn the gun over and look in, but it's not hard.

    Why did you guys cheap out on the design of the handguard? IMO it's very FUGLY and makes the rifle look like a Hi-Point which is not a good thing (no offense Hi-Point). Was there any other handguard version/design you had on the drawing board/design stage that didnt make it to the final product? Yes I know there is an upgraded Kel-tec Handguard you can buy but thats another $200+... or was this the business plan from the start? Thank you for TAKING my question.

    Dear KelTec, I would really like to have the M-Lok forend meant for the RDB Defender so I can put it on my RDB Survival. I already bought the one on the accessory page but it is a bit too long. How can I make this happen? Maybe I can trade the one I already have?

  • @MaximGhost

    4:11 That looks like a long-stroke piston. So why is the RDB marketed as a short-stroke?

    • @MaximGhost
      @MaximGhost Месяц назад

      Never mind. I found the answer ....
      The KelTec RDB has a combination of both short-stroke and long-stroke features (kinda).
      Like most short-stroke setups, the RDB has a piston that stays with the gas head and travels a short short distance to push a transfer rod ... or operating rod.
      Like most long-stroke setups, the RDB's bolt-carrier group is attached to what looks like a long and heavy piston, but is actually the operating rod.
      Since the bolt-carrier group is not attached to the piston because it's attached to the operating rod, it's technically a short-stroke system.

    The RDB is awesome, however keltec sucks. I have been trying to change the muzzle device. However, it is like trying to get blood out of a stone talking to support. I do not know how you have attached this muzzle device and what would be really helpful if you guys could have the decency to put a video up on how to remove the flash hider so that customers can fit a new muzzle brake. What is the secret source??

      @jechezeqel the AR 15 I'd the style of weapon. Not the cartridge. The 5.56 is good but the 300 is better when it comes to suppressed shooting. 230 gr bullets still make an impact.

    The gun is not "completely ambi." If it were completely ambi it would have a charging handle on both sides all of the time. Not a reversible charging handle. A dual sided charging handle.

    I just bought a brand new KelTec RDB because it liked the design features, it literally fell apart in my hands when I started to disassemble it, the rear takedown pin broke the cheap and flimsy plastic when pressed. It's in the post back to the dealer who sold it to me right now.... Don't buy a KelTec, they are junk.
