Just ordered the pro,found them for 80$ on Amazon,,,,,i had the freerider and loved them,mine had a pretty stiff sole like the pro you are describing and thats what i like about them!!
i just ordered the pro. i am using the regular freerider. i have no complains whatsoever, adidas is just having a sale on the pros so i figured i try them out! i do like how they look a little more slim appearing than the freeriders.
I do not own the regular freerider and returned them, but from my memory the regular freerider should have more toe room because its more flexible with less toe protection, cheers

Just grabbed a pair of the freeriders and I love them. Was riding with just regular stiff soled shoes before and man what a difference these made.
Yeah I can still remember when I switched from tennis shoes to my first freerider pro's, insane difference!!! almost like being clipped in
