Thanks so much for the info. I made the commitment to purchase this vehicle back in October of 2021. I can't wait to take delivery and hit the road. Counting the days.😊
This is why they will fail. They should be manufacturing the rv in the US to keep import duty and shipping prices from bloating the costs. What a dumb strategy
Amazing information here Scott... One, you may be in and Oasi soon. Sounds very cool, and you may be going from Lillie to.... Willie?!? (get it Wingamm, so it starts with a "W"... I'm HILARIOUS!) 😝 Two, Oasi is close to getting the van to the US market... another game changer that will make the traditional motorhome companies take notice. Three, the price is reasonable, especially since you get all your dishes included! OMG! Number four is amazing... the service plan is truly innovative, having mobile RV tech repair go to you! One comment... you are so very undervalued Scott. You have brought an amazing amount of light to the RV industry in so many ways, and your partnership with Wingamm just shows how hard you work at getting information out to the rest of us. Your impact is profound and lasting and you deserve more praise for the insightful work you do. Good fortune in your travels, and as always, be seeing you!
I really wish they could start getting a few orders filled. I think some are beginning to loose hope according to the facebook group. I still think it is worth the wait. I still have hopes for Roadtrek with it foreign ownership to start with some of their european designs.
I’m starting to think that seeing a Wingamm in the US just isn’t going to happen. Does not speak well of the company or give you faith in buying one and knowing it will be maintained.
Well done Scott. 👍👍 I’d say about the only thing missing is whether or not the cabin AC can handle USA cooling demands and run efficiently on battery power. Hopefully your future in-person stay in one can shed some light there.
No additional word on the larger models other than they are “coming soon” to USA, but can say the Teams are totally focused on getting the 540.1 into the hands of customers Summer 2023 first .
@@gosmall.livelarge Okay, I can understand that - I am sure you will keep us posted just the same. Lastly, Great Informative Videos Always. YOU ARE THE ONE - to go for for ALL B Vans and Builds. Bravo Scott!
Wow, Scott, that little van checks all of my “needs” boxes but one: Would it comfortably sleep two adult guys in two beds? That’s why I’m hoping Wingamm will roll out the 610ST very soon after the 540i. I think I could solo in the 540i but a bit more storage space would be nice and I wouldn’t need to haul my recumbent trike outside. Your, “Central American” style cassette use idea is intriguing and sounds doable too. Having spent a bit of time in Central and South America, I’m used to the drill. If it extends the dump duration as much as you say, it’s brilliant! Thanks for the really encouraging video. I’ve been following this little coach for a long time and it sounds perfect for my use.
Hi Scott. What happened with these guys? They were inundating us with updates when they were raising money but now, complete radio silence. Plus there is absolutely no contact info on their website. Have we been duped? It’s feeling very sketchy now. I truly hope that you are in contact with Tony and will let him know that this is a very poor way to conduct business and implore him to do better. Please update the investors!
Hi Scott! Do you know what the heck has happened with Wingamm in the US? Did it just never happen? Haven’t had much luck online finding more information. Appreciate hearing what you know. Many thanks!
Scott, good video. Thanks for posting. I watched the video on the lithium battery system. It appears that each expansion lithium battery only has 23 amp hours of energy. So for three batteries, that would be 69 amp hours. This would certainly not be enough to run much for very long. Am I missing something?
Correct, but with 12v A/C and significantly better living module construction there will be much less heat / cool transfer VS a steel van with some insulation. We will have to see when they get here.
Hi Scott, excited about the arrival of the Italian competition. Don’t you think it’s a bit pricey considering what they sell it for in Italy? And that does not include any of your mentioned upgrades😳😊
Having traveled to Europe many times, and the last time in Oct 2022, I find most things are les expensive in Europe. Considering a Travato with lithium is about $150K one gets a very different and better designed arguably RV for the same money.
All the videos I’ve seen on the Wingamm, shows them built on a Fiat chassis. Am I understanding correctly that going forward , at least for the US , they’re going to be built on the Ram Promaster platform?
I just bought a Travato in April 2023 because the Oasi wasn't yet available for purchase. I'm in love with my Travato, but I'm still really loving the Oasi and might consider buying it when its finally available for purchase. Any updates on when we can actually buy one of these?
I have long bemoaned the fact that European (or even Aussie/New Zealand)-style small semi-integrated rigs like this were not sold in the U.S. European roads are crawling with them and most, like these, feature a dropdown bed and a cassette toilet. The Class "B+" rigs we can get are all far too lengthy (usually 25' or so) and also tend to be a few inches wider than these Oasi rigs as well. Even their bigger 610 models will only be about 20 feet in length, which is still two feet shorter than a long wheelbase Transit and only a foot longer than the ubiquitous F-150 crew shortbed that every fifth driver in the U.S. seems to have. This slightly slimmer profile and very reasonable length should keep these things pretty easy to park and maneuver, which is key. I am still a few years away from buying so I hope these are well-entrenched and maybe Hymer, Rapido, or Fleurette and a couple of other brands are here by then as well.
I like it. But the rv market is tanking due to rising interest rates and given that even small rvs like this one are starting to go into the multiple $100,000 range. The whole point of rv living is to be able to live more cheaply than in a home. Also, that mattress setup is sweet. But it will likely grow mold if they dont vent it on the bottom. Airstream learned that the heard way.
Scott, Wingamm would NOT work with my desire to add lap belts to the two "jumpseats" on their 610ST model. Just as they suggest the 540 can sleep 4 (by using the lounge), the 610 can sleep 6 (by using the lounge), BUT they won't support the addition of lap belts to seat 6. It's frustrating that Wingamm would not bother to at least install 4 anchor belts on their frame for me to add the lap belts on my own. BTW: Leisure Travel and Embassy RV both install lep belts on similarly-designed floorplans. When I asked Terry Minix about having Embassy add 4 lap belts to the sofas (in the Dolphin S), he was unwilling to do so. A few months later I NOW seat 4 lap belts FACTORY-INSTALLED. Terry@Embassy is listening closely to customers and making meaningful changes, Wingamm is NOT.
Hello Scott, I am interested in the larger Winghamm 610. I looked it up and love it, a bed in the back, large storage, can fit a scooter, or bike, opens at both sides. large BR. shower, with shower doors!! Do you know if other models, such as this one are coming to the US? Thank you Scott.
Going from a black tank to cassette is a different world. Even if you use 3 cassettes empty them 1 a month is going to be bad, also remember those cassette will want to vent when it get gets warm, I fear that you will have a bad experience with this system, can you talk them into loaning you one for two month as a real world review and experience?
I think it's terrific that you are considering the purchase of a Wingamm Oasi 540.1. Lily has aged pretty gracefully, but there will come a time when she wants to retire. Should you buy and then not absolutely love your Wingamm, you can always replace it with another Travato.
Hello, if you are full timing, which you are, 610 may be a better fit, make sure you consider that option before you jump in. Also, my two cents is, if you are covering the electrical system, it would be helpful if you just give us the total Watt-hrs that the max lithium package provides and watts usage of the A/C, that will really be helpful info (and that applies to any RV that you cover). Thanks for the video!
You told us how the Wingamms would be serviced after delivery. Will they be inspected and serviced or prepped for delivery once they get to the USA, as other brands of new vehicles are dealer prepped? Where will people take delivery? From a practical standpoint, I cannot imagine everyone will have to pick them up at whatever dock the ship arrives at. Although, living in Massachusetts, Boston would be handy for me. Wouldn't it make sense to have Wingamm dealerships in the US? Is there any plan to? I doubt I am the only person who would like to see one in person before ordering and also be able to see the availale decor options in person. Perhaps in the future after they are up and running and start introducing the other models to the US. Thank you for the update. I look forward to watching all your videos.
This is a fantastic design, without a doubt. I love it, and am seriously considering one of these. But I'm having a hard time justifying $145K on a Promaster chassis. Maybe with 4WD.
Why didn't Stellantis ship the chassis direct to Italy? More delays due to shipping approx 28 days each way. How long is the assembly time? Then customs.
I would love to see one in person, but they are no where near the South other than the Tampa show. Speaking of the South, do you think the AC could keep up with our 100 degree heat and high humidity? Fingers crossed it can because it's perfect for us.
I saw them but I am wondering if they have plans to increase the fridge size which bring me to this question. How would you adjust going from a spacious fridge (in the Travato) to a lot smaller one? (I cook all my meals and I am not into going to the market multiple times a week or month)
Hi Bearly. We will be doing more content on their lithium system. One big difference is the living module is an insulated fiberglass shell instead of a steel van with insulation stuffed in, which means the A/C and heating system wouldn’t need to work as hard to keep the coach comfy.
One time they said that the 540 AC system was DC rather than AC current. This would mean that DC would come directly from the batteries not though an inverter as in USA RVs . I wonder if their AC compressor runs on 12V or 24V or ?V
We are looking for a 19’ RV with DRY BATH (separate toilet and shower using a smart wall design... NOT plastic shower curtains) like the Roadtrek Pilot and a drop down bed from the ceiling like the Wingamm Oasi. Hope there is an RV manufacturer that can put these two key features into ONE 19’ RV. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@gabys2 Yup which just bites the big one. Like everything else it costs more here. If they built a factory here they could drop the price since you wouldn't be paying for shipping charges.
Hi Laurie. USA vs EURO, if you have traveled there you know most things are half price there VS here. And quality is usually better there too. thanks for watching
i would be curious how much it cost to fix that shell if you get in a wreck like you did on your van awhile back. Can they just patch it or would they have to replace the entire shell??
I still live in a house, don't own a RV or trailer. Emptying of a cassette toilet seems awful. If you had 15 gallons of waste in cassettes how about they offer a 15 gallon black tank option?
YES! YES! YES! Bring on the DISRUPTION! I love it when the USA RV Cartel's get sand kicked in there faces in there own sandbox. Yeah baby! bring it on Wingamm. Thanks for your coverage of this Scott. 🤘
Oh, that's too bad. The ease and convenience since I switched to the Laveo has been excellent. It also helps that being a guy and going #1 is quite a bit easier and more convenient than it is for women. I don't go #1 in my Laveo. I have several different things I do and use for that.
@@DrBlazer50 On the Laveo, nce you use it and the bag closes, can you open it again and use it for additional times or is it a once only bag. They seem quite expensive!
Seems to me to have more chance of clogging with toilet tissue in the cassette toilet tank. Which makes it more difficult to quickly empty. Difficult enough to get the TT out of regular black tank, from my experience.
Inefficient and very expensive for the customer to send the chassis from Mexico to US, back to Italy, then back to US, and then forcing the US customer to pay for the import fee back to US! Seems like a hard pass. Getting mighty expensive, especially for a limited Promaster chassis.
Why dont they build them in the USA? Why not buy the vans in Italy, where they are made? The vans sell for so much less in Europe, I guess we have to pay the extra shipping cost and duties :-( Still these vans are better then anything we can buy in North America.
Unfortunately the cassette toilet is a nonstarter for me. And in today’s world of batteries why on earth would you even start with AGM batteries? You can find a 100AH LiPos battery for less than $500 so why not make it a standard equipment considering the already high price.
Not all that glitters is gold. Cassette toilet, nor option to change to water flush 👎 No separation of living areas 👎 Added Li+ battery storage likely inadequate to boondock 👎 Doesn’t come standard with a microwave 👎 Can’t use table if the bed is down 👎 Bathroom access in middle of night involves going down a ladder 👎 Solar is a gimmick and useless in terms of Li+ charging. Just a way to raise the price 👎 Refrigerator is on the smaller size 👎 No thanks, I’ll be passing on the Wingamm

Oh, that's too bad. The ease and convenience since I switched to the Laveo has been excellent. It also helps that being a guy and going #1 is quite a bit easier and more convenient than it is for women. I don't go #1 in my Laveo. I have several different things I do and use for that.
Good to know !
@@DrBlazer50 On the Laveo, nce you use it and the bag closes, can you open it again and use it for additional times or is it a once only bag. They seem quite expensive!
4 wheel drive yet?
Hi Erin. The Promaster van platform only comes in front wheel drive.
@@gosmall.livelarge 😢
How much are these things ?
About $180,000 I think
A 4x4 drivetrain would be nice.
Good to know
To all the people complaining about the cassette toilet, seriously the van is less than 6m, what would you expect.
thx Briss
Why do you say you can't use toilet paper with the cassette toilet?
Seems to me to have more chance of clogging with toilet tissue in the cassette toilet tank. Which makes it more difficult to quickly empty. Difficult enough to get the TT out of regular black tank, from my experience.
It's so much more costly than the European version was.
Most everything in USA compared to Europe i more expensive with usually lesser quality and design aesthetics… why do we think that is?
Much money for what it is!
Hi Maggy. Assuming in you have seen with a $150,000 class b van RV will get you, compared to this very different rig? thx for watching
Inefficient and very expensive for the customer to send the chassis from Mexico to US, back to Italy, then back to US, and then forcing the US customer to pay for the import fee back to US! Seems like a hard pass. Getting mighty expensive, especially for a limited Promaster chassis.
thx JW
Incredibly stupid and destined to fail
Why dont they build them in the USA? Why not buy the vans in Italy, where they are made? The vans sell for so much less in Europe, I guess we have to pay the extra shipping cost and duties :-( Still these vans are better then anything we can buy in North America.
work in progress
Only Fiat Ducato van is available in Italy. No Promasters and no dealers to fix Ducatos in the USA.
@@SandyOstroff l thought that is what Promaster is.
@@Lracnolip body wise but the engine and drivetrain are Fiat and diesel in EU.
Yay
Howdy
$150000, and all the options are on top of that? No AWD or 4WD like the Sprinter. Too much of the European version mark up!
Hey 343… when you consider what a 4x4 Sprinter camper van goes for $160K to $225k, not an exact comparison… but Oasi deliver more bang for buck IMHO
Unfortunately the cassette toilet is a nonstarter for me. And in today’s world of batteries why on earth would you even start with AGM batteries? You can find a 100AH LiPos battery for less than $500 so why not make it a standard equipment considering the already high price.
thx Errr
Why didn’t they go directly from MX to IT? Seems like really wasteful logistics to go from MX to Boston and then to IT…. Seems dumb.
Maybe in time they will build here
Not all that glitters is gold.
Cassette toilet, nor option to change to water flush 👎
No separation of living areas 👎
Added Li+ battery storage likely inadequate to boondock 👎
Doesn’t come standard with a microwave 👎
Can’t use table if the bed is down 👎
Bathroom access in middle of night involves going down a ladder 👎
Solar is a gimmick and useless in terms of Li+ charging. Just a way to raise the price 👎
Refrigerator is on the smaller size 👎
No thanks, I’ll be passing on the Wingamm
Thanks for your feedback
155k landed with no upgrades, on that chass, 😂
Thx Vince
Grossly overpriced.

GB thx. Always working to get better
here's what I hear. blah blah blah, i'm a talking head youtuber. more blah blah blag about a soon to fail american version of an awesome euro brand.
Thank you for your helpful comment Billy
Need a QUIET air conditioner for that rig.
Got it!
