I announced at the beginning who all was there, and to see you call these guys hype men is dispectful, just so you know, Roy Davis jr, dj skull, dj pierre, Rio and myself j.r.Jordan that's who you called hype men, dj spanky, Pierre and herb j are the 1st acid makers, and fantasy girl is the 1st acid vocal track, again these are the people you called "hype men"....
I can't believe he would trade those analog TB's for AIRA, even for one song. So plastic, so harsh sounding, so fake compared to the actual TB's he his using. Particularly at 41:20.
qwertkiba Wrong. He uses the new TB. He tweaks the knobs of it, which the vocoder does not have on the upper part, and he also uses the touch screen. All this can be seen at 41:20 if you cared even to look.
Wave Strike if you cared to see too , he is using 4 !!! orignal tb303s , the vocoder is conected with the mic , and the vt3 comes in the end just for a couple of tracks , maybe for promotional reasons.
The TB-3 sounds legit. I have a TB-3 and a X0xb0x. The TB-3 is pretty close to the original, but I think the X0xb0x sounds better - especially when it has a bass boost mod. Why not using Roland's new machine? It sounds good and is easy to use in live performances. However, I would love to own a real TB-303, too. But dropping over $2k for a 30 y/o used bass synth with only two waveforms is hart to justify. Especially, when there are VSTs and clones out there, which come really close. When you want more Acid in today's music, show the bedroom producers and live performers tools they can afford. - Yes, you can make legit Acid tracks with a TB-3, X0xb0x and so on. Even the Volca Bass sounds cool in its own way, when you use the right sequencer to sends the accent (as velocity peak) through MIDI.

Joe Julet For me acid house was as much the period in time rather than a type of music ie late 80s although that 303 sound is what a lot of poeple mean by acid. I guess for me its the prominance of the kick and snare, house tends to be a bit slower and kik snare kik snare with where techno is more stomping with emphasis on the kik. There was 140bpm stuff coming out of Germany, Belgium and Netherlands in about 94 that was labeled acid techno yet it was more like trance meets early hard house. Point being its only a words anyway. My philosophy on music has always been if its a good tune then buy/play it, trust me you miss out on so much good music by worrying about genres. I promise you a lot of producers dont have a clue what type of music they are making especially the older lot.

It almost sounds like its clipping. It sounds muted in the high-end and sorta, hollow on the low end.
