This is actually extremely useful information for people who were never good at understanding audio thank you very much! you broke this down for me in a very easy to understand way.
yes, I hear the threshold noise when you speak! But there is another sound filter, like "noise suppression", not "noise gate" - and it seems to work all the time, without opening the gate, not only when you are quiet. And it has only one option to go :)
Late to the party but out of all the videos I watched this one explained things in a simplified way the best. I have way more comprehension after this after watching and reading so much other confusing stuff
Hey man, I'm a music producer and I'm starting streaming myself. Very good advice here! I wasn't aware of obs having audio filters! I use ableton, so using these should be pretty easy for me. Thanks for the tips man!
Thank you very much for the video! The difference in the sound quality is impressive. I have one doubt. Do you recommend the use the obs audio filters in audio tracks that will be post treated with Audacity or similar audio softwares?
The work the actual audio software would be capable of doing is more likely to be better than filters applied in OBS, so if you do plan on doing a lot of audio improvement as part of your post recording workflow, then I suggest waiting until after your recording to use treatments. That said, It is very important that your audio be as clean as possible natively before you begin recording, so that the quality of the audio that you have to work with in the editing process is as high as it can already be.
The most important factors to having clean audio to start with are reducing noise in the space that you will be doing your recording, the characteristics of the microphone, the distance from the microphone to your face, and other areas of discipline that can be learned by talking withOther audio engineers,
i noticed, right at the end of this video, your audio input sounded much better than during the video (slight fuzzy noice while you where speaking) is there any reason for this?
great video, but i would add a limiter to the bottom of every audio source. personally, i set mine to -1 db with a 250 release time. it only takes effect when the signal rises above the threshold and is a good 'insurance' policy for insuring you don't clip.
I tried once to use plugins that I have installed myself cause I didn't like the available ones in OBS, if I remember it didn't work exactly how I wanted it. Like I had to open them or add the plugins myself every time, also it seemed that it had some problems with being used in OBS. The plugins I was using were fabfilter and Accusonus ERA Bundle Pro and some other ones. thanks for the vid can you also show how to make a soundboard that has effects and plays sounds like CDawgVA playing sound or adding reverb to his voice?
I am needing help setting sound up using obs and presonus interface . I really want a nice sound for videos but everything I do sounds metallic and bad. That was with guitar straight into interface. I did try filter and chains but I really don’t know how to do all that. That is where I need help really bad. I want the Kathy Mattea tone like listen to her on asking us to dance either live or official video. Her live tone is beautiful, both are I love her music in that it’s that perfect tone to escape to. Please if you know how to achieve even a slight bit of that both in the vocal and guitar for live stream I’d be so grateful to know how to dial that in. I don’t know how to do the production stuff. Id be the happiest singer if I could just get this right. I left my really awful video up no matter what I did it wasn’t helping but maybe you can.
@@aranhawaii I’ll do a video tmw. I keep deleting them because they sound awful. I’d love some help. I’ve not done a lot of this in this type of way. I want to have something to work from though. I was workin on it in daw but it not really what I want but it may be ok to show you. I was using we could fly Rhiannon Giddens as a reference today. What would be the best way to record for you to hear the areas you need to. It’d held if studio one just fed directly to obs not using voice meeter .
hope this works this is where i got with studio one 4 I haven't done it through obs yet. Just got done with this much. Id love to get somewhere near the original or the live version of this song called We could fly Rhiannon Giddens and Dirk Powell. I obviously have none of their equipment but i have neumann condensor mic and a shure 58 going into presonus on windows 10 into studio one, then into voice meeter and finally to obs, ultimately live.
Leave your suggested Audio tips here for others to benefit from! 🙂
I realize I am pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good website to watch newly released movies online ?

Can you Use filter to make audio better when recording a multiple sound in one microphone.
Very helpful...
Glad it was helpful!
I have found that the Expander is a much more affective and better sounding gate, no choppyness.
Love from India 😍😘
THANK YOU SIR
All the best
very good

What order should I put my settings in? Expander, Compressor, Limiter & Gain

Awesome advice!
I have 3 different audio tracks, ( game, my mic and discord )but when I go life on RUclips, no one can hear my audio. How should I fix this issue?

Yeah, audio plugins can be tricky. As for the sound effects, check out Voicemod. That's likely what CDawg uses.

Great tips! Btw, your Amazon link doesn't work anymore.
Uh oh. Which link?
While hearing our church live stream, right side of earphone sound is high why it happens??
Check to make sure audio output in OBS is set to Mono instead of Stereo and try again.
great video but why do you have joey in your banner xD
Because we did a tournament together called Tournament Arc! You can find the playlist on my channel page. :)
maybe you know an OBS Studio VST Plugin to make autotune
Just download VoiceMod. It’s awesome!
