Notable fights of Initial D regarding to the Takumi's approach to downhill why he's fast:
AE86 vs EK9 - Racing without seeing (it is also part of the fujiwara zone in the manga, it is said that fujiwara zone is also changes his concentration to another level)
Suzuki Capuccino vs AE86 - Importance of Lightweight and balance in downhill
AE86 vs S2000 - One hand steer and (after the fight he learned to change the rhythm of the racing line, leads to Fujiwara Zone)
ae86 vs evo 6 - Late Braking of Takumi to counter ABS (ryosuke also mentions that AE86 is tuned for downhill races)
AE86 vs Impreza STI - he learned to visualize the line of the AE86 and the STI (chasing the ghost of one another)
AE86 vs MRS - over the limit braking

@@scubasteveae86alemar74 I can add input and pick your brain on this topic. Analytically, one thing that each of the stages drivers had was their tenacious delivery with their technique by maintaining their composure. Yet In each, the deciding factors were similar from Takeshi to God Arm. In GT my favorite and preferred car is the NSX. I started off with regular FR and started working on my own concept for driving. Now ghost lines in my opinion, can be measured in increments, but the application is a good tactic. Takumi does it every time but his is different. He is not racing the other driver per se, more of that they’re an obstacle to pass kinda like a road hazard. However it was tested when he raced vs Impreza. Now, he thought that going his pace with his course knowledge, he could amp it up to 1000 since no one could see him at that level. At that time, the Impreza didn’t let him get away and denied each escape. How does this apply? Ghost lines are key in Ryoksuke’s human stopwatch theory. Which maps out each sectors key time and where the driver should be at during a specific point. Take it as the ghost matrix from GT where your fasted lap is weighted towards the tracks record and flow. If sector 3, one should be there at 1:15, but your matrix is at 1:17.5 then the driver knows he’s off pace by 2.5 secs. In a sense they are counting as they drive in deep focus. Which links to the Zero Theory. I can go on more but it’ll be a lot to type.

Good analysis as always. There is still one topic I would like you put your insight on how lightweight cars has its advantage on the downhill racing in the touge (Mountain pass). I think many people still doesn't know what is the feeling of driving in the limit in a downhill with a steep elevation. The amount of g-forces you will receive, the timing of the brakes, driving into tight corners/roads (low speed corners), and perfect downshifting in order not to spun out. Many people believe that horsepower is really a factor in driving downhill when in fact not, the only thing you need is perfect driving sense and the balls to go faster. This is one example I would like to narrate. ruclips.net/video/EFjakgypqSs/видео.html as you can see the smaller lightweight motorcycle overtakes the big bikes amidst its horsepower difference. The lightweight advantage as well as perfect driving sense is a great comparison on how lightweight and control is an important factor in the downhill of the mountain pass

There’s not much to it, that’s just when he actually locked in
Godarm is able to go very fast using weird lines because he’s driving close to the true limit of the car. He did this to mess with his rival Takumi, basically Jedi mind tricks.
It’s often quicker to be at the limit on a slightly sloppy line, than to follow a perfect line while being under the limit. That is what he was yapping about in the race.
Beginners tend to try and follow a perfect line while they’re neglecting car control & sensitivity which is arguably more important than memorising some good line
So when Godarm drives at the limit and uses a proper line, he will be even faster than before.
Godarm drove closer to his car’s limit than Takumi drove to his 86’s. If Takumi is using 80% of the true total grip his car has, Godarm is using 90 or 95% of his
It’s physically impossible to drive consistently at the theoretical absolute 100% limit of a car’s grip, however the challenge in qualifying laps is to see who gets the closest. This is basically the reason why Takumi was able to beat guys who had faster cars, because even though he was sliding around, that sliding was closer to the limit than the other guy’s sliding or grip run.

Hey, remember me? I am back. Great video! You should also go a little more in depth about where Takumi's raw natural talent came from. Obviously it came from Bunta, who is the most talented driver in Initial D, but maybe after your video series about God Arm is done, you can look into why Bunta is such an amazing driver.
The reason behind Bunta being the fastest isn't just because he is way more skilled, but just because he drives faster. Most people don't realize from watching the show that they aren't driving that fast in Initial D. The race between Takumi and God Arm was at max 50-60 MPH. And that is a good average for many of the Initial D races. They don't try to go much faster because it is too dangerous.
When Takumi realizes that it was Bunta driving the Imprezza when Takumi was dusted by it, Takumi says something along the lines of, 'There is only one person in this world, so stupid, so crazy enough to drive that dangerously fast'. This really shows that Bunta is just crazy enough to drive faster than that at which other drivers, even the most professionals, decide to stop.
When it comes to my own playstyle in games such as Gran Turismo Sport, I have lots of intuition. I tend to know when people are about to break, or when people are about to crash, and adjust myself accordingly. I also similarly end up driving like God Arm in races, taking several different lines, ending up all with the same ending time. Unlike he does though, most of my talent doesn't come naturally or strategically. I kind of just end up not thinking when I am racing. My best racing times came from when I blacked out, just entering my thoughts. Minutes later I would see that I have improved my times by several seconds.
Obviously, I gained skill by practicing a lot but not thinking about the race helps me make better subconscious decisions during it. I think you are right though talking about how the driver in front sets the pace. I really see that a lot racing in Gran Turismo. When you are racing someone slower, or more relaxed, I tend to pick up that same pace. In that case however, I use that to my advantage being the one behind to change the pace, being aggressive and causing my opponent to crack under pressure. That is something you didn't explain. Well, you did, but not simple that way.
Being behind someone can make someone crack under pressure, but that means you can change the pace being behind them, almost controlling them, as they might react to that and change the pace accordingly to your style, basically meaning you reverse engineer the pace. And all that gives you a huge advantage. That is basically the style I use, though I can't reverse engineer my ghost during time attacks. I can only follow it, and despite how much my line changes, I always end up with the same time.
I would talk more about all this, but this comment is really really long. I should just stop here. Maybe you can add me on PlayStation and go over tips with me in Gran Turismo Sport. Like I said, I tend to just not think, and while that can reward me, it just doesn't help me improve. Absorbing the information from your videos has helped me master techniques such as the slip angle technique I talked to you about before. Maybe we could even race while we play.
If you want to add me, my PS4 username is FuFu-SamaRSD. RSD is the name of my team, Redline Star Dust. My profile will mention that. Would be amazing to talk with you. I am almost inspired to make my own Initial D videos from watching yours, though I am real lazy and would have to force myself to edit videos and find images, doing research and whatnot. Hope to see you soon.
Keep up the amazing work. Again, sorry for the long long comment.

Also this is just a joke but.. Maybe try explaining how the Irohazaka Jump works. You know when Kai races Takumi and does the jump. Technically it is impossible, but maybe you could explain how it can be done realistically for an actual advantage.
People tell me that it is just a fake part of the show that just makes the race more exciting, that it realistically would just break your suspension and not give you any advantage, but I am pretty sure that might be wrong. Obviously, everything in Initial D is dramatized, and you could explain that it makes everything fake, but we know that Initial D uses theoretically real techniques, so why would this be fake too?
Maybe you could explain in a shorter episode how the Irohazaka Jump can be viable in a race if done correctly, and how you might be able to get an advantage from it.
      Just a suggestion. Thank you.

Anyways, pretty soon I plan on making my own RUclips channel to make street racing videos that are educational. It is gonna be called Street Racing Theory. It is essentially a class that goes over anything street racing, like how Music Theory is a class that goes over anything music. When things start rolling with that channel, I will let you know, and it would be fun to do collaborations maybe.
Also, I am working on a document that is my own personal theory of street racing. Like how Ryosuke has his theory, but obviously mine has my own stuff. If you want to see it, I can link it here so you can go over it if you are curious.
I will be gone for a week so I may or may not reply to anything, but tomorrow I pack up to go to vacation in West Virginia, and while I am there I am gonna be checking out an amazing touge that I will make mine one day. It is very narrow and dangerous and I have a plan to tackle it. If you are curious, it is called Fayette Station. It starts on the north side of the New River Gorge Bridge, goes down the side of the cliff there, down to the bottom of the gorge, across a small bridge called Fayette Station Bridge, and back up the other side. It is a one way tourist road that is totally empty at night.
