Paul's voice is criminally underrated!
Incredibly moving song...
The last time I saw my father alive he was in a hospice bed. I poured my heart out for an hour at his bedside, clearing out years of things between us. In the end I told him how much I loved him and asked him to just let go. I like to believe it was all that he was hanging on for. Two hours after I got home I got the call that he had passed. I can never hear this song without thinking of our last time together...
My old man is fading. I thank God every day that he and I are good.
Savor every moment, please….
My father and I had a very rocky relationship, dad was old school, never said “I love you son” in words.. sometimes he would mumble it…. The very last time we spoke on the phone ( he died 5 hours later, due to a massive heart attack) he clearly said, I love you Tim……. I was shocked…. But I treasure those words every day now….. God bless you all
This just made me cry something crazy. 😣😣 I am so sorry but happy you can treasure his lasting words with you forever. May he rest in peace 🩷🩷🩷
Thank you Sis……. This is why I treasure you and your work…. You have a real heart and soul….. And you aren’t afraid to show it…
great lyrics to this song !
I bought the vynil single for my dad. We had our moments of dispute and silences. But when he passed we were good.
Only regret was I didn't get to say goodbye, because I wasn't there that morning.
We did everything together. Watched football (English), boxing, formula one. Rode motorbikes together, played badminton, attented church. We even worked together, he gave me my grounding in engineering.
29 years later, still miss him.
This song is timeless ! Doesn’t matter who is right or wrong ! If you have differences with your loved ones make that call ! The opportunity you are passing up today might very well be the one you wish you had tomorrow !!
Yes! You are the first reactor i've heard that actually understood the meaning of the piece.
Oh he's part of Genesis too. 😁
Ashley, you are so very, very nice. Lovely reaction. Your so perfection in your reaction is so lovely. Wow to you Ash. Great Care from Peaky Blinders Country, BIRMINGHAM, GB, England. X
The choir in this song reminds me of the choir in another '80s song, "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Foreigner.
I played this song with my boys, and let them everything I do is to better their lives better and one day they will understand. My older son now a parent now tell me he now understands and see the value of what I said to his dispite our differences.
So nice to hear you again. Still dig your vibe.
Thanks to the Patreon. “The Living Years” is a late 80’s pop classic. And quite a poignant song as well. Great reaction, Ashley. Challenging times and all, your family is _still_ your family. ✌🏽
Good band. Mike Rutherford, the guitarist is the founder of the band. He was formerly in Genesis along with Phil Collins. “All I need is a miracle” and Silent running are good songs also
Excellent reaction! ❤️✌️😎💀☠️
Oh if only we got one more chance, maybe in another place we can put things right x
Amazing song
Fantastic reaction ❤
Excellent respectful reaction,
Unfortunately I had many arguments with my father which I regret now ofcourse. When we found out he had stomach cancer my feelings for him turned my perspective for him & adored him every single day. On the day he passed away I was with my mom & dad, as ofcourse she needed a little help of her feelings for him, I was also heartbroken naturally & shall never forget how he passed in such a sad way. My mom died of Alzeimers disease a few years later. We just have to accept that life goes on but never forget your wonderful parents. RIP Mom & Dad 💔💔💔💔
This is a great song.
I have made this very mistake and now I have it with me forever .
Love this song ❤and so did my father.. I miss him 😢
Miss my father too😢 He always could make you laugh so hard til your tummy hurts.
The line that I believe is the most important is 'you can listen as well as you hear." Hearing doesn't need concentration but listening does, it requires effort. This was a song my dad used to play decades ago it meant nothing to me as a kid but now I understand what it meant to my dad. I never met my dad's dad, he died before I was born but my dad always told us his dad shot at him when he was 16 years old after an argument but my dad never said anything but good things about my grandad to me and my sisters....sorry for rambling.
All time classic ,which we can all relate
My Father and I were best friends later in my life (of course) because as usual the older you get the smarter your parents get my father always told me and he was correct as most of the times he was but when I was growing up we went head to head and even though he taught me how to LOVE music as even today I ply the drums and he taught me how to do sooo many things with my hands that I don't have to call anyone to fix stuff for me I was with him the day he went to be with my Mother and not a day goes by that I don"t miss him and even though we were close I wish I would have told him how much I Loved him and admired him in all things and I'm just glad we were best friends and he was my best man at my wedding and he will always be my HERO.
The 80s was the greatest decade in music history ever it told stories it was poetry it was Atmospheric often Dark but created a everlasting sound that todays music will never have which is manufactured crap soo glad i lived the magical 80s.
1. Nas - Black Girl Lost 2. Mokenstef - He's Mine 3. The Lost Boys - Renee. Real playa music.
You do a great job. you deserve the best songs, These songs deep, you'll feel them.
You need to check out "All I Need is a Miracle" and "Silent Running" as someone else commented, you won't be disappointed!
I have a brother who moved away when he was 17,never called his mom and she went to her grave not knowing why he never called, and I used to do service work going to people's houses and it was alarming how many kids move out and never call their parents
they had some more great songs.....MIKE RUTHERFORD was also member of GENESIS with his guitar.....and PAUL CARRECK the fantastic lead singer is still singing this song.......a timeless masterpiece
good one....
My son who is now 31 and is married with his own son said when he was 10 years old that time is non refundable. He was always good at math and likely didn’t realize the insightful quote he said. Don’t let anger on bitterness ruin relationships and let people know you love them. Tomorrow is never promised.
Love this song and your reaction. Please try reacting to Eva CASSIDY OVER the RAINBOW LIVE
😢
I'm always quoting that first line of the song whenever I encounter these generational rivalries... but it's interesting now that every generation is blaming the ones that follow. I never did that, because the preceding generation is supposed to teach the succeeding generation, so if they're lost, then it's the preceding generation's fault.
Now stop for a minute and picture that song being a top 40 radio hit in heavy rotation. It was.
xx. Eva Cassidy's version of somewhere over the rainbow is as something and a half btw. x
Please check out Tank- Nothing On and NE-YO -Mirror
Anyone notice the difference in reaction to this song between males and females?
RUFF ENDZ-NO MORE
I smh when I hear someone 'warned' her about this song. When this was on the radio I don't recall the DJ warning everyone to have tissues nearby, or am I missing something? What's the purpose of warning someone? Anyone know?
passend zum Thema: James Blunt - Monsters 😢 😢
Listen to Change the World by Eric Clapton.
I really like your channel, but the songs you are reacting to can be better, We I first start watching your channel you were olaying Mint Condition, Johnny Gill, Ton t Terry and more. What's happened? Here ate 3 songs that will pop. 1. Anquette - I Will Always Be There For You 2. Melvin Riley - Who's Is It and Morris Day - Don't Wait For Me. Trust me, these songs will hit. No disrespect to what I've been seeing lately. You need the real.
Really dude!? It don't get much better than this.
