When you are shooting S-Log, you want to overexpose by approx. one stop and a half. Sony actually recommends 61 IRE for S-Log3 and 59 for S-Log 2 but everyone acknowledges this is too low and you could end up with excessive noise in your image. By opening the aperture, that is, overexposing the image, you are increasing the signal (aka light hitting the sensor) and improving the signal to noise ratio. Since S-Log has so much headroom or exposure latitude, you are not really losing anything by over-exposing. At 70%, you are about a stop over, so that's getting you in the ballpark. We are only about 1/2 stop more than that.
thank you for this with no shitty music to distract
Very very nice thank you. Why do you set black levels at -3? And also I thought the ideal / native iso was 2000 on this camera? Thx again
Awesome video! May I ask what lens are you using on your fs7?
Thank you so much for video. it is very helpful
Thank you very much! And thank you for subscribing. We spent several months working through the menu system and studying the camera.
Can you Please do a a video like this one but for the Sony fs7 - mark 2; please?
One more question since you’re so knowledgeable. I’m used to set zebra at 70% for skin color but you set it way higher if I’m correct. How come?
