    How do you get the water up if you don’t have a foot value at the bottom? Found the old well pipe I can hear water when to drop a weight with fishing line but can’t get the water to suck up. Thanks

    What brand is the auger you are using? Where can I buy?

    Put plastic down to hold the dirt so you are not left with a muddy grass area. Easier to move the dirt back to the hole as well.
    After clay soil comes the sandy soil where the water is.

    So what happens when you get deep enough to make the drill rod heavier than you can lift?

    did you make the auger yourself? it looks like... a self-made...

    Wouldnt this work better with hanging weights like sand bags or something small and heavy to aid in downforce while digging when you get deeper so you don't have to push down?

    For those (like me) who hate rattly bits I recommend strips of card (cereal box) in between the joints of the steel rods...
    On a power company side note: Working with steel box sections which have the tendency to get extended over and over again directly under major power lines can prove quite interesting (just saying...)

    Where do I get an auger like yours? i use a Seymore (ebay about $60) but the loose dirt falls out as does the wet soil. I use water to hold the clay/silt/sand together. Thanks vistagraphs@gmail.com

    Excellent video. I like your set up much better than the augers you buy that you have to thread one piece into another with pipe wrenches. Did you make these yourself or did you buy them?

    Can this work on African soil?

    • @randybeard6040
      @randybeard6040 5 лет назад

      Yes if no rock is below...

    • @guilfordsmith2241
      @guilfordsmith2241 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, depending on the soil in your area (no rock). I taught a young man in Kenya to drill wells this way. In his first 6 years he drilled 240 family wells. Simple DIY deepwell hand pumps can be installed. Wells deeper than 20 meters/66 feet have been drilled this way.
