Wednesdays will still be for "industry" videos, I am just working through some new ones and changes to my current process. Also working on a "Kavalier Business Model Breakdown" as part of that series. Let me know what else you're excited to see videos on in the coming weeks!
The Kavalier order another pair of trousers/pants as they will deteriorate I've noticed with my suits the pants tend to go quickly than the blazer so with an extra pair you can always get rid off the first pair& replace them with a second pair
Hello The Kavalier I was wondering if I should get this suit it fits my price range and I like the options , I don't really wear suits as I'm not in any professional environment I would only use it for occasions like Easter ,funerals And events like that . Also I am 16 years old , Do you think it is worth it as I won't be able to wear it for very long because I would out grow it in a couple years Thanks
Have you considered keeping a ranking for the companies you try out? It would be nice to know your ongoing preferences in MTM shirts and suits. Your willingness to experiment on our behalf is much appreciated.
I've heard mixed reviews about itaylor - a lot of reviews online about them messing up measurements on the first-round and then folks getting them re-made. Sounds like your experience - have you considered going back to them on it?
Thanks for making this. I was really on the fence about it, but it really shed some light on it, seeing a customer with background knowledge give an honest opinion.
The suit looks very nice. So does the black Henley!! I like the mini feature at the end of the video where you answer a couple of questions or comments. I'm looking forward to a Summer Casuals video--shorts, shirts, sandals, etc. Nobody does that better than you!
I would definitely be interested in seeing a video on their overcoats and outerwear. Looking forward to a ranking of all these brands that talks about material quality and shopping experience, how well they got the fit, and their long-term support/customer service.
Not sure if this helps, I spoke to Hockerty about suspender buttons and side tabs as that’s what I prefer, the gentleman said if you email or live chat once ordered with your confirmation number they can alter it their end. Likewise the jackets are half canvas from what he said. Looking forward to receiving my order from them!
Hockerty have a Half canvas construction in their suits and if you want to have sidetabs on the pants you could send an email to them and ask. They are really helpful.
I went to the site. You have to signup in order to put in your own measurements. Also the pants rise measurement sometimes showed up and sometimes didn't. Rise is very important as I have a short rise. There "chat" section was only a BOT and I got frustrated and went elsewhere.
@Quintessential Gent is correct the dress shirts come with plastic collar stays sewn inside the collar. The fit was spot on perfect sleeves perfect collar but dang no external collar stays
The Kavalier sorry I’m slow. Yes first order. Fit was spot on so I ordered a suit Sicilian grey but still in the lower end fabrics. Not having an option for external collar stays is killing me though :) I may end up with deo veritas shirting and someone else for suiting
Love all these MTM videos as I am in the process of picking a suit for my wedding for me and the groomsmen. I'm nervous about getting incorrect measurements though. Can you just go to any tailor and get measured or how should we go about that?
Just ordered a shirt from Hockerty but there was no field to enter your discount code. The site has a support ticket option where a discount can be requested. I copied and pasted the referral link you posted here in the video description. Hopefully that works..
I had a custom pea coat made by them that nailed the fit but the half wool blend was such poor quality it makes the entire thing look cheap sadly. Maybe one they’ll have higher quality wool for their coats
Hey @D. White, I'm looking after one as well and wondering if I should order. Do you think it's a total deal breaker with the material that you received?
A great video Johnny it's a 👍up from me, oh I mentioned in one of your last videos the A.O.S. Suit review of ordering an extra pair of trousers/pants, make sure you buy another pair as they will deteriorate /wear& tear if you are going To be wearing it a lot , the pants tend to go quickly rather than the blazer 👍
Have you ever considered doing a head-to-head comparison of some "Basics"-wear brands? I am inundated with ads on Facebook for a variety of brands that purport to make the most comfortable t-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants. Brands like Buck Mason, Pact, Kotn, Rhone, Sebastian Fierri, Goodlife, etc....
I have thought about it but the list seems so long with such little differentiation. Add the price tiers across the brands and I'd be looking at dozens of shirts. Something I can get to but for now I am trying to prioritize suits, shoes, underwear and "business casual" but would never rule it out.
Fair enough. I work in advertising so my style is edgier than yours in general although I still appreciate the videos. You have a lot of content supporting professional and business casual. Might broaden your audience with a few evening "comfort wear" reports. Just something for you to consider. Thanks!
Thank you for all your MTM suit videos. They are very helpful. I am looking to buy a Tux for my upcoming wedding (Budget $900), how would you compare/rank Oliver Wicks, Black Lapel, Lanieri and any others that you would recommend?
Hey Jon, funny i just came across this video, last week Hockerty agreed to send me two shirts and a blazer for my IG page and I'm really nervous as i wait for the arrival. I picked their premium wool (obviously) so im just hoping they can nail the fit based on the few measurements they ask for. Hopefully it turns out like this one- it looks like they got pretty darn close with yours!
They did a Very nice job for the Price, and for it being Poly-blend and fused. How did you get the Surgeon Shortened? That looks difficult? Do tell. Thanks Jon! P.S And Your TAN Shoes go really well with the Black. I'll have to try that look.
Good review sir. Have to disagree with you on the cuff length, it looked perfect on you, really sharp, so you’ve just convinced me to order one through Hockerty.
Hockerty not Hackerty got it wrong, + love the shirt as well it's beautiful, too long though I'm guessing all your shirts you have you've worn them tucked in, I wear mine all tucked out which doesn't look good, got to get in the habit of wearing my shirts tucked in from now on
I love the caddy that you have with the brush where did you get it? Great video. I have a confession. I am a little in love with Alain Dupetit. I beat those suits like red headed step children and feel nothing when I throw them away. The jackets are great over jeans for a more polished look, and to be honest in my field of work where I get spit on and have restraints etc (DOC Social Worker) I can make them work and not ruin good suits anymore. Thoughts?
The caddy I found at a local vintage shop for $20! I have found the same one on Ebay for upwards of $100 but don't have the name handy. I think the function of AD suits is perfect for your situation. It's like the G-shock of suits, function over form. As long as you feel good that's what I believe counts
People need to stop hating on the brown shoe, black suit combo. When I sold clothes, if I had a client who was just starting out I would lean them toward medium brown or cordovan/burgundy shoes 👞 and accessories as they are extremely versitile. They can be worn with pretty much anything
Hey Jon wondering if you could help me out. Just had an awful experience ordering a suit from Charles Tyrwhitt (planned on getting it tailored) and they put me in a bind. I need a suit by May 5 and if not mtm i would needed it asap to get the alterations done. Any suggestions? I am in Los Angeles so if you have a walk in suggestion that would help as well
Hi Eric! Suitsupply ships extremely fast OTR and so does Oliver Wicks. If you order from either company today you'll have a suit by Thursday. Very impressed with both companies OTR quality and price. The Suitsupply suit I unboxed was from their OTR line.
Thanks for the great info, very reassuring. I'm about to order wool suit and two shirts from Hockerty, hey at a shade over €300 all in how can I fail ? I'll let you have the feedback when they arrive. Keep up the vids man, solid gold.
@@kczleon735 absolutely flawless. But how did your suit turn out?
@@kczleon735 hi, how is your swui? It s fit weel?

Has to be fused. No way they wouldn't advertise that. We'll see when they answer my email
Did you find out whether it was fused or not?
I sent a request to Hockerty and they stated the jackets have a floating canvas. Thanks for the video
At that price point, def. fused.
