Like John Cleese said, (and I'm paraphrasing here) it's important to be kind, but if you design your society around the sensitivities of its most neurotic members, you end up with a neurotic society. That's no good for anyone.
@KYLE RITTENHOUSE - COMMUNIST EXTERMINATOR Yes, but we shouldn't be confusing people's beliefs with their statements. That's how we get the ridiculous thinking patterns of the modern leftists. If something is true, it's still true no matter who says it or who repeats it. PS - John Cleese is the GOAT.
@@annatar6453 women are More neurotic than men..that’s exactly why women think men are toxic. No we aren’t. You want neurotic, look at putin. He’s got boomer energy to spare. We want men without the misogyny.
@KYLE RITTENHOUSE - COMMUNIST EXTERMINATOR I would say the Cleese quote is the perfect place to use it. This is not deep thought, it is blatant common sense. You do not need extreme intellect or insight, to see the wisdom in the cleese quote (or paraphrase). That is the beauty of a real insightful quote, is that the wisdom is unavoidable. Cleese has a whole range of more subtle humour, but this is not it. It is sledge hammer bluntness.
The problem is what people today are pathologising as toxic, like Liquid Death and Huel. So people are going to not pay attention when someone is calling out genuine toxicity.
Ya, he said it, but he missed the cause. The lack of movement, exercise, healthy diet, healthy habits, will drop testosterone in any man. Add the average human is far fatter then we used to be, why would we be fucking? What we need to focus on is not the lack of sex or what is masculine, we need to focus on shutting down fast food, replacing video games with physical sports a bit more, just get moving. Said the man just sitting at his computer....
As a conservative (at this point, I refuse to actually use the words “Republican” and “Democrat”, because both parties are so far from where they started out), it feels a little weird to praise a liberal, but on both sides, everyone is so measured, so careful, so calculated in the way that they speak, that it’s refreshing to see someone like Bill just say what he thinks and not care what anyone thinks or says about it
It’s intellectual dishonesty. It’s why the president of Ukraine is so magnetic, he’s genuine. American politicians are faking it. We know it, but our confirmation bias only allows us to see it in opposing parties. Americans need to design a bullshit detector.
@@alinaitzal1173 I agree. To me, liberal means exactly what you said, and conservative just means “doesn’t spend ridiculous amounts of money over-regulating the citizenry”. The fact that our government can’t figure out how to do both is insane to me lol

That "declining sperm count" graph animation had me dead lololol And Bill is so spot on here. I've definitely had two women try to lecture me, on separate occasions, for simply holding the door open for them on the way into the bank. It's like "YES. I KNOW YOU CAN OPEN YOUR OWN DOOR.....I WAS JUST A STRANGER TRYING TO DO SOMETHING POLITE"
Seriously, some people need to chill out! I hold the door for strangers, too. Why do some women have to act like this is an assault on their sense of self?
I open the door for anybody. So to me its not a problem. I see a person behind me, holds it open and walks in. Problem solved. Its funny how this is a massive debate though
@Reo Sho It's a great irony of life that few want to speak for all while not realizing no one gave those few permission to do so. This is where confusion takes root. Also, about women who complain, men holding a door open could translate to wanting sex, and that paranoia is a whole other ball of yikes that needs to be addressed.

Because he had an ardent Christian VP. Dubya's VP was the Military Industrial Complex. Half of Biden's $1.5t "Infrastructure" spending goes to the MIC. Obama caused Putin to take Crimea and now Biden causes Putin to take East Ukraine. This War can end now! All you have to do is back NATO off. Kennedy didn't tolerate Russia encroaching on USA space in the 60s, why should Russia tolerate NATO now? DNP hypocrisy unlimited. Biden caused this War. Wake up America! I worked on the "Erin Brockovich" case and read a lot of literature about the results of environmental toxicity. The most significant symptom that struck me was decreased sperm count, high miscarriages and low egg count. The human body responds to an undesirable environment by not allowing reproduction...
That must have been an extremely interesting case. I personally believe that we are being secretly poisoned against our will for larger agenda including the inability to effectively reproduce.

I still dont really feel like "toxic masculinity" is a thing. Masculinity is masculinity, being toxic is being toxic. Anyone can be toxic, it's not gender specific.
Masculinity, men have and women have it too depending on the person. In my opinion, the toxic part comes in when it is used to project bullying behaviour, mentally or physically.
It is a thing. There are plenty of instances in my country. There are degrees to it though which is should be acceptable, but beyond a certain level it can be borderline monstrous.
I am 65 and 50 years ago, my mother was working as a researcher on studies for the Forestry Service. The government was doing research on how pollution was affecting wildlife. It was reported that there are a lot of endocrine disruptors in our environment which can harm endocrine systems of life on this planet. Endocrine disruptors like lead, mercury, plastics ( source of much pcbs) and the contamination of water with various drugs include birth control hormones. At the time my mom ( keep in mind this was 50 yrs ago), told me that water pollution had a link to newborns becoming homosexual. I at the time was dealing with a boy I had a crush on coming out of the closet and telling me he was gay. I think my mom was trying to comfort me, in a weird way. So, I said are you saying Patrick had no choice? Should I let him know that? Which she said oh no, forget I said anything! It is part of a government study and I really shouldn't have said anything. I think this was about the time homosexual behavior in Ibis in Florida were link to mercury poisoning. There is now a deformity in many fish species that are not normally Hermaphrodite, called intersex disorder caused by water pollution. Fish like the smallmouth bass, are growing eggs in their testes. This makes most sterile, and is causing a sharp decline in the smallmouth bass population. So, men and women not having a sex drive, less testosterone and progesterone? Maybe we are all becoming gender-less. Asexuality on the rise? One person I know that claims to be asexual, says no one turns her on. She has no desire for sex. She had relationships in the past, and said that she realized she rather just be alone.
Agreed on what you said regarding endocrine disruptors. Science has known about this for at least 40 - 50 years. As for asexuals, there are hundreds of thousands of us. We're here & we're queer. There's no "claiming"-I'm a 50+ yr old virgin with no sense of what it's like to even have a crush on someone. Don't have to be ashamed anymore. And I DON'T have to watch Bill Maher anymore. I keep trying, but every segment I watch now offends me. The pandemic has turned him from funny douche to not-funny, bitter UberDouche.
As far as asexuality goes, it's probably worth mentioning that for a long time asexuals were being mislabeled as bisexuals in research because if the Kinsey scale wasn't used, both bisexuals and asexuals could fall under the description of "little/no preference" or "equal attraction to both sexes" (even if that attraction was basically 0) so now it's likely being reported more accurately. Also better sex ed helps, if people know that most people feel attraction and pleasure, and aren't thinking about it in terms of "purity" or "sin" orwhatever else, then they might be more prompted to seek an explanation when they don't feel those things.
God I love Bill BURR. Maher, I don't laugh out loud at. He's mildly funny and has good guests. Bill Burr has had me laugh so hard it hurt. And he says it better too.
I read in a book on human evolution that if you time-transported Homo erectus from 1.8 million years ago to Manhattan and dressed them up, everybody would just assume it's a rare foreigner, maybe a little dumb one, but there would be no big difference (they no longer looked un-human, more likely than not they could speak, etc)
It’s possible to be a man who’s compassionate, kind, sensitive and loving AND be ready to stand your ground and defend when necessary. My WWII Medic Grandfather is an example. I like to think of myself as a little more rugged than the average lefty.
Consistent with the professed long-term desired “hard exterior soft interior” “type” expressed as what a woman wants. In the short term they do not want that kind of guy depending of life stage and circumstance, in my opinion.
Exactly. Women don't want big asshole dudes that go around picking fights. But they doesn't mean they don't want men that are "lethal", in the sense that they're willing to fight and die for family when the wolf is at the door.
Yes I agree and there is also a deep rooted attraction to someone who is tough, can provide and protect you and your family, handy and strong. This is just nature ingrained in us, what we needed to survive. I'm a woman who spends weeks alone hunting in the woods and if I am successful you wouldn't believe how much that turns women on. All of a sudden I get a lot more attention and women are gushing over me. It's so weird, I was like wow, our animal instincts are still very much alive.
I was raised as a nice guy, but I've been trying to become a good man. I think the big key a lot of men in my generation are missing is to put a low priority on entertainment and a high priority on learning how to do stuff/competence
You have absolutely nailed it there. Women like men who CAN DO STUFF! And men like themselves when they CAN DO STUFF! But there is so much entertainment in our hand now (phones, people) that young men have lost the need to DO STUFF. I think Maher was spot on. BUT YOU WERE SPOT ON-ER!!
I disagree. Women are capable of doing a lot more these days than in the past, and for those things they can't do, they have money they can use to pay someone to do it for them. As men, we have to compete constantly for women's attention nowadays because of the mobile phone. She's not even going to be paying attention to you while you fix that broken sink for her--she's going to be on the phone texting with Rick from the gym. If you're not more entertaining than that screen in front of her, good luck buddy
No he didn't. You just made that up. And “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution, and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great,” was an accurate, credible and reasonable statement.

I never really thought about it until my wife brought it up. We have a little boy who’s now 7 but when he was about 3 or 4 she was really upset because Of how popular culture was framing all men and boys as being predisposed to violence and toxic masculinity. She couldn’t believe that there are people and a popular thought that he was destined to be horrible to people. Frankly I never gave it much thought but seeing her feeling damn near guilty pissed me off. Enough of this bs. Toxic men raise toxic men. We need good strong men just as much as we need mothers for our children
Most boys are prone to low level violence. Show me a boy who does wrestle or play rough. It's bred into us, and we learn to keep it under control as we get older.
100% gold. As Abraham Lincoln wrote "Right makes Might". If a boy is raised with a strong family values and strong belief in principled morality then strength will stem through the core of his soul when he becomes a full grown man. This is not toxic masculity. This is virtue we're talking about.
Okay, Esther Perel - world famous clinical psychologist and relationship therapist - with a husband and two sons of her own - talks about this frequently - and on you tube - (and also one of founding feminists in the 60's always said this too) - that we've had the women's revolution where we've come a long my way but there's still work to be done. BUT we (women, men, people, the world) need a MEN'S revolution of sorts to. What's needed isn't to neuter men or make men and women the same or make women dominant, but to understand the differences, make equality of opportunity but not eliminate merit, and have and do what we all need to thrive. We need "strong" independent women AND men. Why would it be any other way? Steven Covey says the goal in relationships isn't codependency it's interdependence and to have that, both people need to be independent (independent so you can be interdependent).
Ah Bill, Zelenskyy is hot because he’s a hero, he’s the truest public servant, willing to die for his country. That level of commitment and that level of bravery is hot. There’s nothing toxic about it.
@@JC18630 yeah, it's society that lumps the two together. I'm pretty sure Bill is saying that the problem is that positive masculine qualities are being called toxic just because they are masculine. I don't think he's revering toxicity or saying that that is what women are attracted to.
The other reason for less sex would be that in America it's kinda hard to find time to date when everyone needs 3 different jobs to afford rent and gas

Say, "A is like coffee: even when you decaffeinate it, there's still a little caffeine in there."
I don't think Bill understands the difference between male toxicity and manliness. Volodymyr is both war leader and loving family man. And yes he's muy caliente. Women are leaving the country because they are bringing out with them the children and the elderly to care for. Don't forget the Ukrainian Army has 36,000 women in active combat, more than any standing army in the world.
What’s the difference between toxic and masculine, Zelensky isn’t doing “family man” anything? His wife and children left and rather than playing poppa he’s stayed behind in a warzone to fight or die. A war leader is someone involved in war are you saying war and violence are associated manliness? Women are fleeing because they don’t want to fight. Women are not physically built to compete with men. Wtf is manliness? Being a man is being willing to stare death in the face, suppress your emotions, grab your pair, and face it head on with no fear. Toxicity isn’t a thing, it’s completely subjective and it’s that rhetoric of wanting to pass on your duty, your job to women that is what’s turning us into a society of useless men.
@jimstr10 Source? From all that I have read wife and children remain in Ukraine. He doesn’t have to choose between “playing poppa” and leading the country. He can lead the country and be strong and have his family show solidarity by not leaving. Some women are fleeing. Some are remaining to fight. The Ukrainian people have a strong sense of pride and will fight their occupiers no matter their gender. Some have no choice but to leave with their children but they don’t feel good about it. Most women who are fleeing are not doing so bc they don’t want to flight but bc the have an obligation to keep their children safe. Courage and determination is present in every Ukrainian. Glory to Ukraine
@@jimstr10 Ahem. Got your facts wrong. 1) His family stays in Ukraine. 2) we know difference between a good man and a toxic one. 3) again I remind you the Ukrainian army has more women in active combat that any in the world. Get the difference? 5) you are conveniently ignoring that women are primary caregivers for children and the aged, assuming many pro-social roles, plus are the reason you exist ~ don't forget. Good day to you.
That last line lol! What makes Zelenski sexy is more than him being a charismatic leader, tough, heroic, brave and a "man's man" - he's also funny, intelligent, successful, heart-full, and a loving father and husband - (plus a leader of a country and not in his 70s), and that's why women are swooning again. He is the manifestation of the new definition of power and balanced masculinity. Thank god men have someone admirable to look to who manifest those qualities to a sublime degree. Putin (and his ilk) are The Old, Zelenski is The New.
Excellent comment, and so much more to the point than Bill's lazy, stereo-typed and old-fart grievance-fuelled rant disguised as comedy. The only funny thing in this bit was when the graphic collapsed from being flaccid. And that was surely designed by his staff.
Oh really, how do you know he’s funny, intelligent, heart full? We’re you swooning over him back then when you saw those qualities in him? Or was it when he decided to don the military suit and go to battle whilst women and kids ran off?
@@markmiller6111 "how do you know he’s funny, intelligent, heart full?" Because he said, I don't need a ride, I need help." That covers the first two. We know he's heart-full because he's still there.
There are plenty of women these days who seem to have a constant chip on their shoulders towards men in general. I was admonished for holding a door open for a lady (as I always do) when she quipped "I can open my own door" and then got even more upset when I replied "yes ma'am". As if somehow I was implying that she wasn't able to open a door, being a woman and all. I didn't respond after her outburst, instead just let her continue living a miserable life. But this is becoming more and more common, as masculinity in general seems to have been lumped in with the toxic side. There are still things in our DNA as men that we do better than women, and vice versa. Recognition and respect from both sides is the key, and I'm not sure we are heading in that direction as a society.
In Canada it's normal for people to open doors for each other. Could be either a man or a women that will open it for you. The most important thing though is to say "Thank You" rudeness will not be tolerated. Anyways now you know.
That just sounds like a rude person to be honest. Depends on how you did it though. If it was clear the you did it only because she was a woman I would get irritated too but if you do that for everyone (as you should) it was just rude behavior by her
Preach it, Bill - I am so sick of us telling men they can't be, well, men. Just because some men are low-lifes doesn't mean we can't celebrate and honor legitimate, non-toxic masculinity that gets crap done! I appreciate that my husband's instinct is to fix and protect - I don't find that toxic, it's hot!.
Yeah well his point about it being ultimately on men is ridiculous. After about 20 seconds of a conversation with a young woman these days the indoctrination is so obvious and overwhelming you'd rather be talking to a brick. Best advice is go overseas and find a woman that still isn't brainwashed and has some traditional sensibilities and values. There are still actual strong women looking for strong men. Slipper slope doesn't even begin to explain what the West went through over the last 50 years. It's going to take generations or real culture war to dig out of this hell.
It's a fun rant, but gotta say, it's pretty ironic he's basing his whole "toxic masculinity is a good thing" rant on how brave Volodymyr Zelenskyy is, but we wouldn't have to endure this war if the dude attacking him wasn't such an egomaniac. I'd argue Putin is the poster child for "toxic" masculinity: Impulsive, irrational, driven to violence. I don't think anyone's definition for toxic masculinity would come close to what Volodymyr Zelenskyy is exemplifying: dignified, brave, measured...
@@brentsievers What that means is it is the same masculinity that attacks and it is the same that defends represented by Russians and Ukrainian men, world is full of grey my dude it is not black and white, Men and Women are different it just evolution and some of the traits in masculinity is toxic and so is some trait on femininity but in the west from kindergarten only is treated as a problem to be dealt with and the other is ignored, at the end of the day women like strong and brave men and there is nothing anyone can do about it
I think a lot of the drop-off in sex can be attributed to how freaking overworked Americans are and how stressful our lives have become trying to get by and get ahead. We work longer hours for less net gain and usually in a family both parents work FT now. It's difficult to get amped up for sex when all you really want to do is fall asleep watching TV on the couch.

Depends on your job. Many of us have jobs that weren't a thing 30 years ago. I do desktop support and coding. Im sitting at a desk in my office at home for 10 hours. When I'm done I want to go walking, go to the gym, play some guitar, etc.. And later on have some sex. 4 days working, 3 days off. Now if you work construction, yeah you got a point. Love him or hate him, but Bill has really become a cultural force over the last few years. Millions of views on social media and I’ve noticed his new rules segment is covered by all the entertainment trade papers and tmz every week too.
This is the flashpoint of the country's pendulum swinging back from the hard left, toward the middle again. Note that nearly every New Rules closer, the last 6 months, has all been rooted with leftist fundamentals as what is being dragged in the mud. These are *all* right-wing rebuttals and gripes, just presented politely and witty through the mouth of a beloved classic liberal. And that is fine. Liberals need to speak up when it comes to the fringe on the left. Because right now, the fringe's ideas are the MAINSTREAM DOCTRINE of the entire left. Time to swing back. It was inevitable anyway. These phases are maximum 15 years, as history has shown. People get tired of the browbeating and lunacy, and change. Last time was the evangelical "moral majority" social grip of the 80's into the 90's.

Bill was very correct when he said that today guys asking a girl out is seen as aggressive. I have seen several posts on social media lately of girls asking for advice. It was different people with the same question. Seems a young man asked a girl out on 2 different occasions. The girl said no twice, then asked if she should report the guy to the police for sexual assault. I asked if the males had put their hands on them at any point or said anything offensive. Both said no. I then told them that the guys didn't do anything wrong, they just simply expressed an interest in taking them out. Well...the responses I got from lots of people made it seem as if I had just told the gals to lay back and enjoy it. Total, absolute insanity. So, watch it guys...not sure how you're supposed to ask someone on a date anymore. This has turned into a very bizarre world.
@Deborah King, yup and this is exactly why men and women aren't having as much sex. Men are afraid (not of women) but of being accused of rape, sexual harassment, or some other type of abuse simply for expressing their attraction or mere interest. And yes, I understand that cat-calling and other such behavior can be problematic (although some women actually enjoy cat-calling if done a certain way) but merely asking a woman out or even just voicing how attractive we think she is, in my opinion, is not wrong in any way. All she has to do is say she's not interested and that's it, both parties move on. It's like people today have forgotten that we are, at the most basic level, biological beings. And biological beings have instincts, including the instinct to engage in sex. But it turns out that we are now trying to criminalize this instinct. It's really a sad thing.
@@deborahking5610 Well I get why it in some circumstances it can be a problem. The issue is that if a guy does it in a non-empathetic way, the lady can get uncomfortable, and I understand that can border on harassment (especially if he doesn't back off). But even so, rejection is inevitable in such encounters, and even if done right it can be uncomfortable for both parties. I guess that some people take that inevitable discomfort as something that should be avoided and therefore labels it as harassment even though it's not.
@@juanlambda27 Interesting thing about the cat-calling: I think it's cultural. Both cat-calling as well as the negative way we mostly view it in the West. I'm not a woman but I can imagine it's like shining a big bright light on somebody who just wants to be left alone. You can't assume that somebody suddenly wants to be the object of attention especially if you're just walking to the shop or something. So I understand the negativity around this. But I remember meeting a Colombian lady some years ago in Germany. She was amazed that the German guys didn't flirt with her in public - in Colombia, that was apparently the norm, and she actually enjoyed it. In Germany, you keep your distance, at least in public. Culture plays a big role in these things.
They've done studies recently here in the UK and found that college students, particularly men are having far less sex than they were, and part of the reasons as Bill said were fears of "toxic masculinity", more and more young men are wary of approaching women because of the fear they'll be accused of sexual harassment, so they choose not to bother, and as a result they're having less sex
"men are wary of approaching women because of the fear they'll be accused of sexual harassment, so they choose not to bother, and as a result they're having less sex"...you describe this as though it's a problem rather than a GOOD thing.

I wish that when I was younger, I'd been told to be bold and assertive instead of been told to be meek and unthreatening. I'm not saying I'd have been a manly-man now if I had, but the messages I got made me double down on my worst habits. I had to learn, late and with difficulty, that no matter how much the world told me to sit down and shut up, it would actually reward me for standing up and making my voice heard.
I think there's value both in being assertive as well as unthreatening. Yet that's a very hard balance to achieve and usually end up going to the extremes (by becoming either an aggressive bully or a defenseless push-over.)
At least you are male and can stay relatively desirable into your 50s. I feel a lot worse for women who were taught to disregard their most fertile years, then in the blink of an eye realize what it means to be 35.

@@aktob316 I shouldn’t have to say this, it should be obvious, but “toxic masculinity” doesn’t mean that men are toxic or that masculinity is de facto toxic. Rather, it means that extreme forms of traits traditionally associated with masculinity, like aggression and stoicism, are toxic. Rightwingers, however, like to pretend the phrase is an attack on men because it’s a quick way of derailing a conversation about rigid gender norms, and allows them to pretend that feminism is some sort of plot against men. @@wordzmyth Absolutely! Some traits traditionally associated with masculinity are positive, like being a protector or being strong, as you said. I don't think anyone is saying the Ukrainian guy is being toxic - it's Putin who is displaying toxic masculinity by starting a war to show other what a tough guy he is.
I'm sorry Bill, but before the war, Selensky was the type of guy you're complaining about. You can't judge if someone is a brave man or not until it gets really serious. I know an Austrian sea captain, he lives with his mother and has a bit of the attitude of a nobleman, this man supplied Split and other ports at night and new moon from sea during the Yugoslav war while the Serbian cannons were waiting for him and his crew.
Bill doesn't let facts get in the way of making controversial statements. He's gone from being a decent commentator and panel host to being someone addicted to controversy. He completely ignored that men were required to stay and that despite that fact, 15 percent of the Ukraine army are women. That was an inconvenience however to the rhetoric he was slinging. He's just defending himself now because he knows we've labeled him sexist, which he is.
I don't know where this came from. As if Maher is the personification of macho. Zelensky is a regular guy. Putin is the "man's man," the "stud" who poses with his shirt off. The unassuming Zelensky keeps at his post as the Russian army closes in and despite the very real possibility of being assassinated. Studmuffin Putin is afraid to get nearer than shouting distance of his own advisors.
^^ THIS. Exactly this. Would give you 100 thumbs up if I could. The toxic masculinity all those hated "feminazis" have been complaining about all along is the kind that gave us frigging PUTIN. Zelenskyi didn't feel the need to ride shirtless to prove how much of a "man's man" he was. He chose a career in comedy after getting a law degree and didn't take himself too seriously. Watch old clips of him doing Ukraine's "Dancing with the stars" and he wears a costume that's basically PINK. Who of those "real men" Maher talks about would have the balls to do that? And when the war came, Zelenskyi rose to the occasion with impeccable courage, but he's not the kind of braggart "rah rah hero". I mean just listen to how he speaks. He's always kind, and feels for people's losses. He's also resolute BUT THAT'S NO CONTRADICTION. Why do people always think, that men can't be kind AND resolute if necessary? Zelenskyi is exactly what progressives and feminists would see as a good, modern man. No wonder so many think he's irresistibly sexy. That's because he's exactly the OPPOSITE of the toxic overly "masculine" braggadiocious guy.
The decline in sex is directly related to the increase in mental anguish of recent years. It's a massive mental health problem! And yes, male energy is a beautiful thing, especially when combined with a healthy emotional intelligence.
Agreed....that, and the fact that we're fucking exhausted all the time. I come home from work everyday and to be honest, I'm rarely in "the mood" -im too tired and stressed out and just wanna lie down for a bit and close my eyes so I can relax for a few minutes without someone bugging me about some bullshit.
I love how some people are finally seeing what normal people have been pointing out for years. Though pro-woman/pro-girl recognition has been a good thing we've raised a whole generation of little boys who've never seen anything pro-man/pro-boy. In fact they've seen just the opposite. Boys wanting to be more like girls because girls are now the epitome of goodness. Masculinity is not toxic in of itself. Masculinity is what makes men be brave, to protect those they love with their lives, to be strong for the weak. When those parts of masculinity are used to hurt others it's not because masculinity is bad it's because as a child this person raised without a good, moral male role model.
There is more to this. The horrible diets and condition most people are in (most western countries are at around 75% overweight or obese with terrible diets and most have no exercise as part of there life). Some of this is of a direct consequence of the movement to needing both people in a marriage to work for so many more families then before. There have been a lot of consequences to the changes, some for the better and some for the worse. But for some reason the worse is discouraged from being discussed and it isn't just going to go away.

Finally-Sperm counts are not low because of feminism. They’re low because of microplastics in the environment. They disrupt the endocrine system.
Microplastics are one part of it, then there's heating food in plastic containers, as well as the fact technology has allowed us to become sedentary which itself lowers testosterone.
Esther Perel - world famous clinical psychologist and relationship therapist - with a husband and two sons of her own - talks about this frequently - and on you tube - (and also one of founding feminists in the 60's always said this too) - that we've had the women's revolution where we've come a long my way but there's still work to be done.
As far as testosterone and low sperm count, I've just recently learned some really important things about that. Yes about microplastics but also plastics in general (#5 is the safest) and heating and storing food in plastic but also plastics in general - soft plastcs are the worst. But healthy fats (omega 3's, realolive oil) versus omega 6's - "vegetable" aka seed oils are necessary for proper endocrine / hormone levels and functions for females AND males. Omega 6 fats being SIGNIFICANTLY detrimental. And there's a legitimate famous modern study - a few actually and covered in some you tube vids too but I can't think of the names - where the sperm counts of the males in the rural agro chemical heavy (herbicides, pesticides, all the "cides" - Monsanto country basically) communities of Oklahoma were compared to the urban males in Minneapolis. The difference in sperm count was striking it was something like half. And that's just the males. I wonder what the equivalent effect to females is. And they weren't even farrm workers - they just lived in the rural agro heavy communities. Come to think of it, I wonder what electromagnetic radiation is doing to us too from all our phones, ipads, computers, wifi and technology. Along with sedentary lives, and high refined carbs / diabetic lifestyles. It's become too expensive to live and that effects every aspect of our lives. Stress from your job. How is that possible. You're treated like a child. No wonder sex is down. Who has any energy, confidence or self esteem left? Liberal just means open and fair minded... I would hate to be called a democrat or a Republican.

I still dont really feel like "toxic masculinity" is a thing. Masculinity is masculinity, being toxic is being toxic. Anyone can be toxic, it's not gender specific.
Masculinity is not gender specific. Women can exhibit toxic masculinity.
@@TheAMW How about exhibiting navel gazing drivel and and preaching deliberately over-analyzed truisms? Also non gender specific?

1000%
However, this is too balanced for today’s polarised society to understand and accept. There has to be a debate.
@@DianaDeLuna Maher is not only halariously funny, but he is spot on.

Definitely! Good men raise good men.
And some people nontoxic parents raise serial killers.

Plus men are turned back at the border.
Thank you. One of the few in the comments that I agree with what the difference is between toxic masculinity and manliness.
What makes Zelenski sexy is more than him being a charismatic leader, tough, heroic, brave and a "man's man" - he's also funny, intelligent, successful, heart-full, and a loving father and husband - (plus a leader of a country and not in his 70s), and that's why women are swooning again.

Preach it, Bill - I am so sick of us telling men they can't be, well, men.

In which country was this if I may ask? I live in South Africa (well at least for now) and this sounds outright bizarre.
@@GiDaOne America. It seems that we have a LOT of problems these days.

Hil Pei it also has to do with American women being incredibly fat and unpleasant and not being worth approaching. Takes 2 to tango here.
Emotional Intelligence is BS. Don't go flaunting around that pseudoscience.
Bill Smashing it!! & to think he and I were galaxies apart in our opinions in recent years.
Strong Work Brother!!🤙🏽
I find that he's common sense most of the time He's got a few points where you're like "No dude... just no" but.. We're adults as conservatives and we can hear that and not lose our minds.
"There are no feminists in a housefire!" - Bill Burr

Lol like that metrosexual would ever run to a housefire
@@briancarpenter6413 I know for sure that you wouldn't run into a fire.
I also know you wouldn't stand up to Ukrainian women throwing Molotov cocktails at you.
@@churrothiev8387 to be fair - who would?
Bull, we have many female fire fighters in our country, so Bill Burr can think again.
It’s not “masculinity” it’s competence. Someone who gets things done.
That's your opinion, not a fact. Speak for yourself.
Thank you. It’s annoying when these faux pundits distort something to make a point. He knows all masculinity isn’t toxic masculinity. He can make fun of it all he wants, but when a man can’t stand up for another man without the fear of being called “gay” and being ostracized, it’s pretty toxic. A lot of it isn’t how they act with women, it’s how they act with each other. For example it’s okay not to talk about tits and sports all the time. It should be okay to go a little deeper. Doesn’t have to be a lot-just a little.
@@tarmin1711 Trump = toxic masculinity. He’s gross. Zelensky = non-toxic masculinity. It’s hot. Being a hero is definitely non-toxic. Why do you think women like fire fighters?
Get it?
No. it’s masculinity. there’s nothing erotic about getting something done in itself. if that was the case home depot employees would be the studs of all studs. masculinity is passion.
Except in a war situation, the people doing the hardest, really ugly stuff are men. It’s not a sin to appreciate the contributions of men, regardless of the feminist rot coming out of universities today.
Billy Badass here praised the Vietnam war, which no one supports, even though he was old enough to fight but too weak to go. 🤫🤫
@lochnessamonster1912
I have no idea how he feels about the Vietnam War but he turned 18 just a few months before the helicopters left Saigon. Do the math. He was born in 56. I get it, you're a hater of Bill Maher.
Zelensky isn't any kind of example of 'toxic' masculinity though, like Bill seems to suggest. He's just straight up masculine. Putin on the other hand..
I don't think most women have a problem with good, positive masculinity.
He didn't say that, or even suggest that. He said that Zelensky manifests masculinity, as he certainly does, but there is pressure in the contemporary society to rid men of their natural impulses that define them as men because they _may_ cause toxic behavior towards women and other people, but at the end of the day, that ultimately does not help anybody, especially women who find what men have become after that conditioning unattractive.
Dude, he is straight up killing Russians and sending the women away so the men can be left alone to do it. There is nothing more "toxic" than that, and it's great
@@musikinspace His country is being invaded. Of course he's defending himself. That's not an example of toxicity.
@@clayman1980 Seems to me he suggests it in the line "You can think masculinity is toxic, or you can think Z is awesome, but you can't do both." Sounds like he's equating toxicity with masculinity in a way that I don't think women actually do.
I agree with your point about "pressure in the contemporary society to rid men of their natural impulses" but I don't think Z is counter example to this. If you were to use him as a counter example you'd have find a group of people that think his behavior is toxic - something I haven't heard anyone say.
@@johnnyjohnny2650 Exactly. I can only speak for myself, as one woman, but I think Zelensky's masculinity is the opposite of toxic - he is honest and modest, and was not afraid to ridicule himself as a comedian. Contrast that with Putin and you get the difference between positive and toxic masculinity.

Love you Bill. On one hand…I saw men from US volunteering to go IN to Ukraine and just thought damn I love men, these are real men. On the other hand… I always supported myself financially and I still fix all the appliances around the house. Never been scared of the dark. Growing up my dad took care of me and mom ran the business. But if there were suspicious persons driving around our cul-du-sac Dad would get out the laser pointer.
If anyone's interested and unfamiliar, I've been learning a lot about how to combat the toxic environment with nutrition and lifestyle changes from you tube channels Eric Berg and Thomas De Lauer. Those have been the most useful for me for learning nutritional science.
@@tinaperez7393 Thanks for your comments Tina! Yes my family uses concentrated herbal nutritional products to offset the effects of all the different plastics and toxins we are exposed to daily. I wish more people were interested in taking control of their own wellness.

I’ve never had to play your episodes over and over again. The BEST one of all time Bill Maher!
Bravo - I'd say Bill pretty much hits the nail on the head with this one.
The sex drought is due to stress. Everyone has so much stress in their everyday lives, it's at a toxic level so sex drives decrease.
It's become too expensive to live and that effects every aspect of our lives. Stress from your job. Corporations actually expect employees (who really have no stake in whether the company makes money or not), to think of them like a family, work more than 40 hrs with no increase in pay then expect you to give 100% and increase that by 10% every year then hold it against you in your annual review of not met. How is that possible. You're treated like a child. No wonder sex is down. Who has any energy, confidence or self esteem left?
We need to demand and build better, more affordable, happier lives to increase desires for sex.
This is also true. Hoping to someday escape the corporate world for the reasons you very clearly expressed.
Well shit, when I'm stressed out, I reach out to my lady friend and bang it out for a week.
Lots of people have been stuck with the kids at home, and caring for elderly parents more, weight gain from stress, people have to feel pretty and relaxed before they feel like being intimate with their partner. Others aren't meeting people to have a partner because you can't have love at first sight wearing a damn mask, and socializing has dropped over the last 2 years. It is crazy, and it's making people go crazy lacking affection and human touch, even if they don't realize it.
10% increase in your annual review?! Oh how I wish! ^_^
