This was the best interview of Larkin Poe I’ve seen. The more I hear their music and get to know them as artists behind their music the bigger a fan I become.
They are amazingly well-spoken thoughtful and passionate about not only the past but the future of music they are great Representatives for the Youth and the future of music!
How interesting it is to listen to Rebecca & Megan talk about music and their love for it. Their enthusiasm and love for music just shines through. Can't wait to get the chance to see them live some day.
These girls have been making videos and posting them online for around 7 years now and a good friend turned me onto them and I was hooked from the get-go.I cant say how much I love their playing and as a guitar player myself I could not be more happy they connected with Sweetwater, because both Sweetwater and Larkin Poe are both "keepers"
I got to see them here at home in Atlanta almost two years ago, and got to meet them beforehand at a meet and greet. They are two of the nicest people, but their live performance is easily one of the best shows I have seen in years.
Two great players, who convey love for music with every song. Larkin Poe live is a treat. A small stage on a ship, a theater or anywhere else, they pour everything into the performance. Thanks Seetwater for capturing these moments- the music and the interview. Well done!
One of the attractions of their music other than the sheer goodness of it, is their connection to one another. A lot of sisters, I think, don’t have such a genuine love and like of their sibling. It’s deep and hard to explain
Mitch I just loved your interview with the ever growing musically Rebecca and Megan Lovell. I can't wait to hear more from these talented young ladies.
Excellent interview by Mitch. Always a joy hearing the ladies tell their story. So down to earth and respectful. I wish always the best for Larkin Poe.
So refreshing what these smart girls are producing. Especially with all the dull mainstream music going on. I hope they keep the roots blues DNA going in the future. 🎸🎸🖤🖤🇬🇧😎😎🏋🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️
I was at that Merlefest, when they played with Elvis Costello at the "Hillside Album Hour". Saw a few of their own sets as well. I had also seen them there in previous years as "the Lovell Sisters". They've come a long way. Nice to hear them so graciously speak of the role their mentors have played in their success.
Within the past couple of decades, I have noticed that the musical acts that manage to not-only "make it big", but also manage to sustain their careers for more than just a few years, tend to have surprisingly INTELLIGENT members. For-instance, during (let's say) the 1960s and `70s, it was still quite possible for Pop or Rock singers to be successful, and yet mainly just "know how to sing" and not know a lot else about music - , let-alone know much about the world in-general. However, especially within the Internet era, it has become the reality that if you want to have longtime success as a significant recording-artist, you really _need_ to be intelligent and learnéd about a broad range of related topics, and preferably generally intelligent, as-well. These Lovell sisters strike me as being surprisingly smart in-that-way. (I hate to congratulate one sister over the other - , but from this interview, Rebecca especially struck me as being intellectually gifted.) Finally, it very gratifying to me that they are likewise from the U.S. "Deep South" - , and do such a impressive job of dispelling the "dumb Southerner" stereotype.☺
What is their music classified as? I absolutely love this song, It has somewhat of a dirty delta blues feel to it. It's like a classic style re-invented. But what's the hybrid made of?
Larkin Poe's True north is their music in their music room on you tube and it's their Nintendo in their Nintendo in that gaming room , their true north music the basics ..! And it is so so so refressing to us that tune in . Dam shame other kids can't follow their example , hopefully they will
I can’t wait for their own solo records, when they have accumulated real life experiences and put them into song. Id say in 10 years and it will be fantastic.
Tim Pierce Yes, Jess decided on college and marriage. Interestingly, Megan is married to a touring musician (Mike Seal...Jerry Douglas’ guitar player) and Rebecca is engaged to Tyler Bryant (sorry guys...she’s taken, too). But they seem to make it work.
No it's not that unusual to play Steel in dobro tuning . It all depends on your musical background . Few players ( at least for the past 75 years ) start from scratch with a lap steel as their very first instruments . Those of us who came from dobro will predominantly play in dobro tuning . Those who come from vertical guitar , will usually use the various bottleneck tunings .
Great interview with two very well spoken young ladies. Larkin Poe is INCREDIBLE!!!
They are so grounded, insightful and wise, no BS, just nice people making extraordinary music..so inspiring
This was the best interview of Larkin Poe I’ve seen. The more I hear their music and get to know them as artists behind their music the bigger a fan I become.
They are so well spoken and fantastic ambassadors for this genre of music. They have become a bucket list concert ticket for me!
They are amazingly well-spoken thoughtful and passionate about not only the past but the future of music they are great Representatives for the Youth and the future of music!

I saw them open for Bob Seger in 2019. I was not very familiar with them. They were fantastic
I love that they're huge music nerds on top of being amazing musicians.
How interesting it is to listen to Rebecca & Megan talk about music and their love for it. Their enthusiasm and love for music just shines through. Can't wait to get the chance to see them live some day.
I've only recently discovered their music. So impressed. They are such articulate and grounded ladies. A breathe of fresh air in contemporary music.

It's so interesting how Rebecca's speaking voice is child like compared to her singing voice. She's like two different people. I LOVE THEM BOTH!!
Love them! Love to see young people and women playing blues based music!
2 Beautiful women with talents. Thank you ladies
Have got to see them twice now. If you get the chance, go see them. Awesome show and talent.

So refreshing what these smart girls are producing. Especially with all the dull mainstream music going on. I hope they keep the roots blues DNA going in the future. 🎸🎸🖤🖤🇬🇧😎😎🏋🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️

They sound great, they look great, and they seem down-to-earth. What more could you ask for?
Have been a fan for a few years now and they were right up the road in Durham last summer and I DID NOT KNOW. Still kicking my own ass about it.

What is their music classified as? I absolutely love this song, It has somewhat of a dirty delta blues feel to it. It's like a classic style re-invented. But what's the hybrid made of?
Love them ! Rock on Larkin Poe ! ;-)
Megan the middle kid, used to being ignored and getting things done
They worked the New Basement tapes with Rhianna Giddens wow .
Larkin Poe's True north is their music in their music room on you tube and it's their Nintendo in their Nintendo in that gaming room , their true north music the basics ..! And it is so so so refressing to us that tune in . Dam shame other kids can't follow their example , hopefully they will
I listened to overplay it doesn't ad anything to the music ..! Music is discreet parts well played backing the singer's NOTHING more !
Hey Rebecca, your friends at Sweetwater can hook you up with a tuner!

9:43 Rebecca stopped herself from saying "black people".😂

I can’t wait for their own solo records, when they have accumulated real life experiences and put them into song. Id say in 10 years and it will be fantastic.

There was a third sister and she rocked I don't know why she never give it up her Harmony fit into the group so beautifully!!
Shiloh Store yea their older sister got tired of the touring life she decided to settle down and take care of family

Do you like Blues? If you do, you must check them out. They are the real deal
Well, now you have!
Now you have
As well spoken as great music presenters
7:40 "I am the main songwriter for the band..." this is ego knocking at the door...
Are they cool or what?
Indeed Bernard
Poor Megan doesn’t get to talk much, great artists though!
They're too young and too hot for blues.
Yet here they are!
No they are not
