I agree with your score. Especially the comment about the price and it not being hand stitched for that price point. To make it even more absurd, they will hand stitch upon request-for $100 extra!
Been binge-watching your channel for the past few days and now I think I'm becoming very picky about my next wallet LOL. Would you please post a review on El Garrote Minimalist wallet soon? I can't purchase one without hearing your thoughts first. Anyway, thanks for this channel, Mark! Love your work!
@@BC08 i dont think so. Not when it comes to wallets at least. To me handstitching makes it look like someone made an effort doing their craft and machine stitching makes it look mass produced and dull.
Id like to see you review at the “kline wallet” from loyal stricklin. I ordered one last week and I’m waiting for it to come in. I couldn’t find a single review for the “kline wallet” on youtube,so its a bit of a gamble. Thank you for the good quality reviews and good luck!
I picked up a Fat Herbie wallet last fall. It's great except for one thing. My cards seem to get stuck in there after a while. It takes a lot of effort to pull them out. Once I do and put them back in it's fine... until a couple hours later it tightens up again. Perhaps I just need to stretch the slots out a bit.
I have a shell cordovan Fat Herbie and a amaretto Johnny, the Fox in shell Cordovan love them both I all so have a horween, Dublin leather mail bag that is so shiney that the panties looks like glass I try to buy all my leather in or weed leather now
So, this would be a back pocket wallet. Would you say that the Tony is a back pocket as well? Or, could it be a front pocket wallet? Bugs is just a little too small. Thanks.
FWIW, I carry my fat herbie in my front pocket. It may be large in length and width, but it’s so thin. It can ride in your pocket along with your phone with ease
You are so right! I bought one in natural Shell Cordovan and took all my other wallets out of rotation. I carry it in my front pocket by the way and have no problems with it.
Hey! I found your contents some months ago, and I like your videos. I have a Kinda big (for me I guess) problem: I’m trying to find my wallet, but its not easy. I have some requirements: have a slot for cash, have a pocket for coins (just a little is enough), and pockets for min 6 cards, and full grain leather. I found some brand that would be good, I think: Tanners goods, Ashland. Do you have any recommendation? Thanks!
I have their Tony the Ant. I love their wallets. I want to buy a Herbie or passport wallet. Phil has commented on the hand stitching. It adds significant amount of labor but doesn't make the wallet any more structurally sound, so probably the pricing is pretty fair for what you get, so maybe that score should have been higher. While there's a higher up-front cost for their wallets, they will last you forever, or Ashland will fix them for you, which is what sold me on their products.
Naahhhh, the competition is hand stitching for less money. They warranty everything for life which is great so it's a moot point. For my money though, I want hand stitching. I've seen a machine stitch pop and slowly the line goes with it. With a saddle stitch, that can't really happen due to the way it is done. Phil and Ashland are great, but they are also trying to sell you something is all I'm saying
I think their wallets are great, but speaking overall if saddle stitching wasn’t better, then no company would do it, and advertise it as being hand stitched. Either way I like their wallets!
I wanted to ask for an advice What wallet you would recomend, in like ridge wallet(not to big, slim and like so) but that could use for cards, notes and coins?
I love this wallet! For years I thought I was looking for a smaller wallet when actually I wanted a thinner wallet. Thanks for reviewing this. 😎
I feel the exact same
Hey, hey, hey! That Horween smell is cray!

I highly recommend some shell cordovan from Ashland! Incredible leather!
That’s a vey nice wallet. I’m not a full size wallet enthusiast, but I could carry this.

I like it. Fun design but not in any way silly. Very different! But machine stitching at that price is a deal breaker for me.
Both machine and hand stitched have a lifetime warranty :)
Why though? Machine stitching actually looks better

@@andreaswahlberg100 Machine stitched looks more refined. smaller thread, more consistent looking

Love the herbie bug intro ❤

... This particular wallet reminds me of the Vaultskin City from the outside to be fair Mark.
Well to be fair, it's like the Allett Original wallet, but it does act more as a bifold.
It's a huge wallet. Would like to see dun slim wallet magnetic. That's something new concept. The detachable slim wallet inside.❤
I just ordered one. I currently have a Tony the Ant wallet.
That was an awesome review. Love fat herbie.

Have you done a video in king ranch saddle shop wallets? Was trying to browse through your channel but I don’t think I see any!
Best wallet hands down..once you carry it for a week or so and try something else..you will understand!😊

Ah so that's what BBW means

jack wolfskin kariba air wallet?
I taught it was named after Sir Fatsalot !
Lol 135 dollars, multiply that by 2 then add another 60 bucks. Beautiful wallet but the most expensive wallet I've ever seen.
The one shown in the video is $115 right now for Black Friday. The ones you are talking about are shell cordovan. Of course they cost a lot 🤦♂️
