It’s almost a cultural thing like cockfighting. Because many of these ppl grew up watching it and surrounded by they so desensitized they repeat the cycle. Never seeing a reason the respect the animal. When I was 10 I moved into my new neighborhood in Brooklyn and there was a neighbor not much older than me, in the business of breeding strong dogs snd making them fight. I never heard of such a thing before, and upon seeing glimpses of it, didn’t really strike me as insane. My understanding was “hey fight because that’s what animals do.” Nah terrible! Few years later I got to know the neighbor and even bonded with the new dogs. And he didn’t like me being nice to them. My family got a cam corder, and I recorded some things, and behind the camera I got really concerned. I was looking at the men watching and smiling and being extremely into it, and one the dogs I bonded with was extremely unhappy, stressed... WTF are these men doing. Later that summer my friend came by me to spend the whole day, we went in the the garage where the puppies were in cages, and we just gave them a lot of attention and tried to play with them. Another large dog we have played games with him and just being super nice. And one of my favorites a striped pittie named Bounce was always excited to see me l, he even ran away from his home and made a B-line right st my gate. That says alot. Anyway that same summer day, the guy comes home, being annoyed that we were playing with the dogs. Mind you I never saw any sense of fear or aggression from the animals towards us. He told us to stay away and so we did. Also, I never told my friend some of these dogs fight. A week later, my favorite dog Bounce was gone. The man said he had to get rid of him. Because me and my friend “broke” him. He didn’t want to be aggressive or fight. He told me he sold him to some kid for $20. I shouted GOOD! Other incidents in that neighborhood, young kids would throw their puppies over the fence in the pittie ring to “make them stronger”because as one kid claim he wanted his dog to fight. So here’s this kid around 9yrs old thinking this is okay.
PumpkinEskobarr ..thanks for sharing. I think the insane smiles on the men you saw was also related to their insane need to gamble. Nothing is too bad to happen to those men.

I've had my fair share of the most amazing breed of dog in my opinion! My latest is a bait dog throw away and she's still awesome. Even though the first two years of her life experiences were to say the least deplorable. She's still an amazing very sweet and loving girl💗 who's b.f.f. is a cat and she's so good with my 3 kids. I was skeptical about bringing her in with my kids at first. But there's a reason she was a bait dog and not a fighter. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

They're still aggressive either way, it's like humans each race or ethnicity has their own characteristics that even if it doesn't apply to each individual as a whole there's still a stereotype that defines each person depending on the place they're from. And most stereotypes are some how true ask the white folks lol
carlos campos first of all Originally they weren’t even bred for dog fighting in the 18-19 hundreds these dogs were nicknamed “nanny dogs” because of how gentle and protective they were towards children. But recently (like 50 years ago) dog fights became a thing And because of this dogs strong build and protective nature they tried to make these dogs ‘fight ready’ and they didn’t particularly breed them to be aggressive, no of course not that required the dog to be in some kind of health, instead they took puppies from people (or bred non fighting, strong dogs) and isolated them, and beat them and didn’t care for them eventually turning this dog into something it wasn’t. It isn’t like races in humans It’s abuse Like how some abusive households raise sociopaths But how this dog reacts to aggression isn’t planning a murder It’s fighting

Wow. Those two ladies really saved her life! If she'd ended up in a shelter - she wouldn't have made it. And even if she had been adopted - she would have been a fearful, aggressive dog. Great job ladies and Maddie! 💞
Scumbags who use dogs for fighting, whether at the beginning, (taking them from their moms early) to training, to watching/betting, don't deserve to live in this world. Maddy thankfully didn't suffer too long and found an awesome mom! She's a beautiful dog!! Happy living your best life ever, Maddy!!
Yes, it's interesting. It would seem that the guy who "threw" the puppy away had decided to save her. Many people who are involved in things like dog-fighting rings are there not because they are into it but because they've been roped in somehow-- as with all criminal enterprises. Anyway, some piece of humanity in that person decided to remove Maddie from the situation.
I’ve tried fostering dogs twice. They both never left. My uncle’s dog hangs out here most of the day too and I even get bummed when he has to go home at night.
I've been fostering for 6 years. It does not get easy but you get used to seeing them go. And you got to remind yourself that you do it for them and they gotta keep moving on so you can help the next dog. I keep in contact with the adopters and get regular updates. It is sweet.
@@memyselfi726 That's a great mindset. Unfortunately, I really can't let go off any dog that I would foster. I would make connections that would be too deep and too strong to let them leave me.

So I truly am interested in knowing how you know that and how they did that. Cuz quite honestly, that's awesome!
The problem is a great deal of dogfighting rings have just gone underground once they're made illegal. And because they're underground the numbers are impossible to accurately assess. So I hate to tell you, but there very likely _is_ still dogfighting in your state, it's just underground. I would give anything for it to be totally eliminated but if we pretend a problem no longer exists we can't properly combat it. It's an unfortunate reality that animal cruelty exists everywhere, to some degree, but different places (cities, states, or countries) have different degrees of severity.

I absolutely hate people who force pit bulls into becoming fighting dogs by taking them away from their moms when they're puppies. So sickening. I'm so relieved Maddie was put in good hands and not marked as a dog to be put down. This happens too often with pit bulls, whether they're puppies or adult dogs, and these heroes in this vid proves that there's a better alternative to helping these dogs than putting them down.
caitlinjane92 So shelters have trainers who work with the dogs so they've a better chance of getting a home.
Maddie’s adorable! I don’t know what kind of person would like to destroy her, but I’m glad she got the help she needed. She’s pure love!
Sweet dog! 👍❤️👏👏👏. Is this what they call a doggie bag?!! 😁😁😁
I just donated some money to Mr. Bones and Company, the people in this video who are saving and helping dogs. Please, everyone, if you can donate to them, too, even if it's just a small amount, please consider helping them out. They're doing such a wonderful thing, they deserve all the financial help they can get. --Darren

Thank God she was rescued. I don't even want to think about what her life would have been like if she hadn't been.
