Evidently no one on this panel is equipped to speak on colourism. Please get some dark skin women and men who actually date dark skin women to speak. How frustrating.
The Dr. is a great example of the Dunning-Kruger effect which is concerning for someone that practices talk and psychodynamic therapy. She elevates from elitism and doesn't have a grasp of intersectionality. It's disappointing.
Dr. Bryant is totally off, everyone is not in the position to do that...People do it to themselves because of the system, black and POC's are conditioned to make differences in complexions.
Dr.Bryant is correlating compliments with opportunities. Getting cat called doesn’t mean they are getting opportunities for positions that really they are getting looked over.
Yes there is light privilege… this is my opinion and my personal experience… I’m good looking period. However I’ve been frowned upon and even called ugly bc I am of a darker hue. It’s heartbreaking bc it’s a seed that may have been planted by the white man but it’s a plant that has been watered and nutured by black men mainly (of course not all)… the black man is very powerful by way of influence (although they experience colorism as well) therefore their influence as it pertains to seeing light skin woman as prettier then dark black women ( not all) tend to follow suit. I love all colors truly as I am not influenced by anyone but it does bother me when light skin woman act like they are in support of stopping colorism… my experience is that they tend to use the word “ugly” very comfortably. We gotta stop being fearful or uncomfortable with the “Truth” ❤
@19:30 She flipped this topic and reversed it. She tried to make this about light-skinned repression, not colorism. Making yourself the victim after changing the subject, is part of her light-skinned privilege and sense of entitlement.
This topic is not appropriate for this panel of colorism when there isn’t a woman of darker complexion on it but also they are missing the point of the experience of blk women. Claudia Jordan for example isn’t dark skin but she keeps it real about experienced colorism of darker skinned women her and Al were great about it on tea. These women don’t get it lol and to say it doesn’t happens as much anymore is CRAZY 😂
If the "Pop the Balloon or Find Love" show is any indicator, then the choice of most singles is darker complected mates. I was pleasantly surprised to see how often lighter people are told they are "too light".
It's all about edifying your children.....I have two daughters and I tell them all the time they are pretty, oooh I love your hair. You are so smart, girl the world is your oyster. . It has to start from home....great point Dr. Bryant. and Willie.
Telling your children they're beautiful is great. But if the world doesn't share your sentiments the children will have a different experience outside of the home and it will still impact them.
YALL NEED A BLK WOMAN THAT COME FROM TWO BLK PEOPLE ON THE SHOW!!! ALL THESE TOPICS ABOUT BLK WOMEN AND NO DISRESPECT THESE TWO WOMEN DONT HAVE THE FULL BLK EXPERIENCE AND CANT SPEAK FOR US ON EVERY TOPIC!
Correct she’s not licensed and counseling as a “life coach” while making it seem like she’s a Dr who can diagnose. Getting away with illegal misrepresentation
I was loving her but she starting to get annoying.. like relax I love how the men stood on business with her today!!!! Just speaking for herself! Bro it’s a whole world!
@37:27 It is crazy the he's going on a whole diatribe about being obsessed with light eyes and skin...can he not read the room! This segment was a mess and uninformed. Next time find some dark-skinned black ppl to be on this show!!!
People are usually attracted to what's different from them. I mostly had light skin guys to approach me because I'm dark skinned. Very seldom a dark skinned guy would approach me.
This isn't true from a psychological standpoint. If you look at studies, people tend to be attracted to people who look like them. This is indicative of a good self-esteem because you are attracted to your own mirror-image.
Now I just got to the part they said both blk men on the show have light women? Lol just skip this topic all together they outta touch. This my 2nd time watching the show I hope it’s not always like this
I never thought Zendaya was really all that, I knew she was in because not only had light skin but she was skinny lol I like my women with butt and hips and thighs
@16:51 "He said a lot of things that people were afraid to say about a lot of things that are happening in the country." TRANSLATION: He spoke against I$R@EL'S occupation and repression of the P@LESTINI@NS. He also used the now prohibited G-word to discuss it.
@7:20 They just skipped over the human rights aspect, and went straight for talking about money. This lawsuit is also about how they weren't fed and how their rights were violated.
I also think it goes back to slavery. The house slave vs. the field slave. House slaves were told that they were better due to the color of their skin. Colorism is ingrained in us from the time we were brought to this continent. Old folks used to say to their son:s "don't bring a woman home with a nappy head or darker than a paper bag"
Why is this conversation being had with two biracial women and no brown/dark skin women? They should not be speaking for us. I have an issue with the fact that there is not a darkskin woman on the show at all.
It's just you. Light skinned is a spectrum- there isn't just one shade of beige that is considered light skin. I mean she's not even light-Brown skinned- that would be Sanaa Lathan's complexion, so yes she is light skinned.
He said what he said!! “I love you Dr. Bryant but what you say sometimes is straight up bulls**t” 😂😂
Yes that was funny and true!
Thank you!
It needed to be said.
Evidently no one on this panel is equipped to speak on colourism. Please get some dark skin women and men who actually date dark skin women to speak. How frustrating.
RIGHT THEY PISSED ME OFF EXCEPT WILLIE BUT HE DIDNT GO IN DEEPER
The fact that they don't have a dark brown woman speaks to colorism itself.
I agree 100%
@ FACTS REAL FACTS!!! NOT REALIZING THEIR HELPING THE AGENDA TO GET RID OF BLK WOMEN AND PUT A BIRACIAL LOOK ON US
Urgh 😒 This conversation was the worst regarding colorism... Where is the brown skinned point of view?
Glad I wasn’t tripping! This was terrible
The Dr. is a great example of the Dunning-Kruger effect which is concerning for someone that practices talk and psychodynamic therapy. She elevates from elitism and doesn't have a grasp of intersectionality. It's disappointing.
Yall definitely needed a someone to give a different perspective who was a dark skin women.
He said child you been light skin your whole life 😂😂😂 thx u sir bc she sometimes just be overkill 😂😂😂
I love this show! Dr. B does hog the conversation some times!😂😂😂
Whoppi I’m so sorry you had to experience this bullsht. You are BEAUTIFUL and we all can see it! ✨✨✨✨
Dr. Bryant is totally off, everyone is not in the position to do that...People do it to themselves because of the system, black and POC's are conditioned to make differences in complexions.
Maybe having a dark skinned person on the panel as a guest would've helped.
Oh! This is definitely some truth talk! It was funny how Dr. Bryant called out her two co-hosts's women
Dr.Bryant is correlating compliments with opportunities. Getting cat called doesn’t mean they are getting opportunities for positions that really they are getting looked over.

Excuse my typos
He spoke about colorism in terms of opportunity, Cheyenne spoke about men hollering at her and her friends.
When you’re sitting in the privilege it’s hard to see outside of yourself.
@19:30 She flipped this topic and reversed it. She tried to make this about light-skinned repression, not colorism. Making yourself the victim after changing the subject, is part of her light-skinned privilege and sense of entitlement.
Dr. Bryant loves to hear herself talk. Even if it’s Bulls***
ABSOLUTELY WILD LIKE GIRL WHAT
Today’s show and yesterday’s show were great. I enjoyed how the dialogue was presented. The topics were interesting. Great job!!!
If the "Pop the Balloon or Find Love" show is any indicator, then the choice of most singles is darker complected mates. I was pleasantly surprised to see how often lighter people are told they are "too light".

I would like for this show to have more have intellectually elevated conversations.
24:13 the Dr is trippin. How can she not understand the power structure controls this perception.
Yeah this conversation missed the mark. 😑
I am cringing.
TT been bringing it, Great topics and guest !!
And Dr. Bryant why do you think they may have that mindset? Be honest
Dr. Bryant is not a doctor.
I'm brown skin and my sister is light skinned and I have noticed the difference in how she is viewed versus how I am viewed.
Right according to the bio on her website She’s a life coach with a masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy.
@@Nanbebe7 Her website says: Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology
Correct she’s not licensed and counseling as a “life coach” while making it seem like she’s a Dr who can diagnose. Getting away with illegal misrepresentation
@@DramaTherapyHub Understandable! I didn't know she wasn't licensed. You're right, she can't call herself a practitioner. Wow!
I saw you on All The Queens Men Brii Renee!!!
Dr. B talk to much very annoying. 😂
OMG!!! I love this show but without her. She is freaking exhausting!
Totally agree
I was loving her but she starting to get annoying.. like relax I love how the men stood on business with her today!!!! Just speaking for herself! Bro it’s a whole world!
@37:27 It is crazy the he's going on a whole diatribe about being obsessed with light eyes and skin...can he not read the room! This segment was a mess and uninformed. Next time find some dark-skinned black ppl to be on this show!!!
I'm flabbergasted that he sat there and said all this. He's literally perpetuating colourism and featurism in a conversation about colourism.
Dr. B runs her mouth entirely too much! It makes me not want to watch. She thinks she is an expert in everything!
People are usually attracted to what's different from them. I mostly had light skin guys to approach me because I'm dark skinned. Very seldom a dark skinned guy would approach me.
That’s interesting because I’m golden brown and mostly golden brown men talk to me more than anything
This my 2nd time watching the show I hope it’s not always like this
Still talking over each other!! Dr. B hogging the show!! Use that bell for Next Person!!!
I never thought Zendaya was really all that, I knew she was in because not only had light skin but she was skinny lol I like my women with butt and hips and thighs
How do you guys have a colorism conversation amd leave dark skinned women out of the conversation? 🤦🏿♂️
I’m careful with conversations about racism and colorism because sometimes people can hide their insecurities behind racism and colorism.
I agree.
@16:51 "He said a lot of things that people were afraid to say about a lot of things that are happening in the country." TRANSLATION: He spoke against I$R@EL'S occupation and repression of the P@LESTINI@NS. He also used the now prohibited G-word to discuss it.
This is not a good panel....start over please.
@7:20 They just skipped over the human rights aspect, and went straight for talking about money. This lawsuit is also about how they weren't fed and how their rights were violated.
I don't recall the colorism in the 80's, this pretty much started in the community in the 90's.
It was definitely going on in the 80s lol
I also think it goes back to slavery. The house slave vs. the field slave. House slaves were told that they were better due to the color of their skin. Colorism is ingrained in us from the time we were brought to this continent. Old folks used to say to their son:s "don't bring a woman home with a nappy head or darker than a paper bag"
All house slaves weren't mixed or light skinned and all field slaves weren't dark skinned.
25:00 thank god!
I prayed the same thing lol I always wanted to be darker but I have every shade of kid lol and I taught them at a early age they are beautiful 🥰
Love the show first time watching
love from germany
what is a purpose partner 🤨
Why is this conversation being had with two biracial women and no brown/dark skin women? They should not be speaking for us. I have an issue with the fact that there is not a darkskin woman on the show at all.
EXACTLY!!! IM LIKE WAIT WHAT AINT BOTH YALL BIRACIAL 🙄🙄🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ HOW DARE YALL SPEAK FOR US! THEEEEEN MISS THE ENTIRE MARK
I love how Dr. B flipped it on the men
These men won’t keep it real. Dark men usually want a light woman
She so fine in brown pants she look like Aliesha keys
This episode is extremely tone deaf, production please do better. Also, Dr.Bryant stop comparing yourself to every topic that comes up.
She is so fake why is she on the show they don't need to get rid of her and get a dark woman
Is it just me? Dr Bryant is not "light skinned" she is more brown skinned.
Brown where? Whoopi is brown. Tika Sumpter is brown. She's light skinned.
It's just you. Light skinned is a spectrum- there isn't just one shade of beige that is considered light skin. I mean she's not even light-Brown skinned- that would be Sanaa Lathan's complexion, so yes she is light skinned.
