    Evidently no one on this panel is equipped to speak on colourism. Please get some dark skin women and men who actually date dark skin women to speak. How frustrating.

    The Dr. is a great example of the Dunning-Kruger effect which is concerning for someone that practices talk and psychodynamic therapy. She elevates from elitism and doesn't have a grasp of intersectionality. It's disappointing.

    Dr. Bryant is totally off, everyone is not in the position to do that...People do it to themselves because of the system, black and POC's are conditioned to make differences in complexions.

  • @Luuvdove

    Dr.Bryant is correlating compliments with opportunities. Getting cat called doesn’t mean they are getting opportunities for positions that really they are getting looked over.

  • @KG-wi6ks
    @KG-wi6ks 14 дней назад +8

    Yes there is light privilege… this is my opinion and my personal experience… I’m good looking period. However I’ve been frowned upon and even called ugly bc I am of a darker hue. It’s heartbreaking bc it’s a seed that may have been planted by the white man but it’s a plant that has been watered and nutured by black men mainly (of course not all)… the black man is very powerful by way of influence (although they experience colorism as well) therefore their influence as it pertains to seeing light skin woman as prettier then dark black women ( not all) tend to follow suit. I love all colors truly as I am not influenced by anyone but it does bother me when light skin woman act like they are in support of stopping colorism… my experience is that they tend to use the word “ugly” very comfortably. We gotta stop being fearful or uncomfortable with the “Truth” ❤

    @19:30 She flipped this topic and reversed it. She tried to make this about light-skinned repression, not colorism. Making yourself the victim after changing the subject, is part of her light-skinned privilege and sense of entitlement.

  • @lovelee3501
    @lovelee3501 15 дней назад +7

    This topic is not appropriate for this panel of colorism when there isn’t a woman of darker complexion on it but also they are missing the point of the experience of blk women. Claudia Jordan for example isn’t dark skin but she keeps it real about experienced colorism of darker skinned women her and Al were great about it on tea. These women don’t get it lol and to say it doesn’t happens as much anymore is CRAZY 😂

    I also think it goes back to slavery. The house slave vs. the field slave. House slaves were told that they were better due to the color of their skin. Colorism is ingrained in us from the time we were brought to this continent. Old folks used to say to their son:s "don't bring a woman home with a nappy head or darker than a paper bag"
