The famous players don’t grind it out as GAs, positions coaches and coordinators at Unknown U and work their way up like non famous former players. Sanders immediately got a HC gig post his high school HC career. That’s not the norm but the exception. The grind isn’t for everyone and neither is coaching, in general.
I kinda understand you but from my vantage point more schools should do this because the day of the good old boy round table is over. So many unqualified white dudes have got opportunities now black dudes getting The chance.

In his prime, he won even after prison.
