  • Aborted take off with ATC
I abort my take off on the take off roll. Was this right decision or was I just being too cautious?
I would appreciate your input in the comments section.

You absolutely made the right call. I have zero tolerance for any performance issues in the run-up or during the takeoff roll.

I love the fact you posted this, Ronak. The commentary is excellent, and it was clearly a wise decision. But the reason I’m particularly glad is that I think it may well save lives. We’re always taught to do those checks. But if every time you do, it’s fine, it’s natural to become desensitised and fall prey to confirmation bias. What this video does is implant in the memory a time when it was not fine; a visual of something not being quite right and the decision process that followed. I’m sure I’ll be a safer pilot for watching it.

That is why I always shout "Speed is coming alive...." in your case was not even close halfway through the runway! A very wise decision. Thanks for sharing.

Very well filmed, narrated and edited short film illustrating a minor incident we've all faced. Your instinct as a diligent and cautious pilot served you well, even if maybe it would have been fine. Thank you for sharing.

Always better to be safe than sorry. We only really get one chance at everything we do. The correct decision was made

Better by far to be sat on the runway wondering if it might have made it than sat in the treeline wondering why it didnt..

In aviation, where there is doubt - there is no doubt. Stop, check, recheck and carry on. You don't need validation for this decision. Good call.

Of all the excellent comments below it's the one from Chris Bell that really nails it!
"Better by far to be sat on the runway wondering if it might have made it than sat in the treeline wondering why it didnt..."
I could think of two other things to consider: Do you think it might have been carb ice? What if the pitot tube had become blocked (even after your preflight check) low risk definitely but a possibility?

2:35 aborting is NEVER to cautious. It’s the only way to guarantee everyone on the aircraft will be alive afterward. If anyone tells you that isn’t worth a few extra minutes to make some checks, their opinion holds no value.

Dude, if you’re gut is telling you something is not right, then don’t proceed. I don’t care about checks and this and that, if you’re not comfortable, then stop

Like it's said, you'd rather be on the ground wishing you were in the air, vs being in the air wishing you were on the ground. Smart decision. What was up with the plane?

Very interesting video and always the right decision if you're not happy. one question, you say that the RPM was lower than expected, what were you expecting and what was it showing, looking at both attempts, the RPM gauge seems to be reading the same.

Thank you Keith it does. It just felt a lot slower the first time, I am not sure why

Great video and definitely the right decision to abort if it doesn't seem right!
