Definitely need flight plan into EGFF…VFR approach from Swansea via J36 with Basic Service via St Hilary. Cardiff are very helpful given several flight schools operating from Cardiff, nearby St Athan and Swansea…to mention a few.

Hi Jon it's currently in for its annual. Once it comes out we can arrange a flight. We haven't rent it out to anyone so far but playing it by ear.

@26 mins: You don't neeed to throttle back to 2500 after 300ft agl. Flight manual recommends full power, full RPM, full mixture all the way to cruising alt. The O-360 are designed to take the hammering. Aircraft will climb better and forward speed will be higher, resulting in better engine cooling and shorter total climb time. Only throttle back in cruise or cruise-climb.

Yes in uncontrolled airspace and if you have the correct qualifications

2:35 aborting is NEVER to cautious. It’s the only way to guarantee everyone on the aircraft will be alive afterward. If anyone tells you that isn’t worth a few extra minutes to make some checks, their opinion holds no value.
