  • As we continue to search for a dream tiny house or tiny living situation, we continue to tour tiny homes, park model RV's, cabins, mobile homes, manufactured homes, HUD homes, ADU's and even modular foldable type homes.
    In this video, we toured a Tiny House made by Avery Cabin Company in Hamilton, Alabama (ANSI Park Model Tiny Home). You can find Avery Cabins at multiple dealers or you can buy direct from their factory!
    This is their model AC-129 and it is 399 square feet. Here is a link to the floor plan:
    averycabin.com...
    This home has NO loft. What it does have, in true RV fashion is a BUNK HOUSE! A perfect second home for the lake, with room for a couple grandkids when they come to visit. Or, a main residence if local ordinances allow you to live full time in a Park Model RV. You could easily sleep six in this home - two in the bunks, two in the main bedroom and two on a sleeper sofa if you choose to add one.
    The home has an entire list of standard features that you can view on Avery's website or on our community page! In the video, we discuss some of the upgrades this home has.
    Here is the MANUFACTURER'S website, but keep in mind, the site is still under construction, so has some incomplete information.

      Calorie restriction. The calorie intake is somewhat flexible and changes as you lose weight of course. You calculate your needed calories for your current weight and activity level, then reduce it by however many calories depending on how much weight you want to lose in a time frame. Counting is not fun, but after a while, you get to the point you can guess calories in foods pretty accurately and we don't limit our food choices. If we want to eat a piece of cake, we do. It just limits calories for other meals during the day!

    This is nice, glad to hear that Avery is responding to comments and concerns. I haven't watched every video, but I have an idea for a park model that I have not seen (but might or might not exist): how about a mono slope roof with clerestory or transom windows on the tall side of the mono slope roof, then on the outside instead of having the porch on one end, set it up so a full length porch could go along the side with the porch roof attaching just below the clerestory/transom windows, and leaving the possibility of a garage off the end where the home you are showing has the porch. The large side porch would be spacious enough (potentially another 399 sq. ft.) to have a nice size hot tub, a pool table or a ping pong table and some really nice outdoor furniture and a nice grill.

      We have had similar ideas in our design plans and yours are amazing. We videoed a tiny home late last year that is set up so that you could do that. The home is from Solid Structure Portable Buildings. It is a one-off custom they built as their bread and butter is building log cabin kits. Here's the video:

      @@50pluslife360 Thanks for the link - what a deal on that unfinished shed from Solid Structures. You should do a follow up with Roman and see what fun ideas he has developed as he transitions into the company owner.

      Yes we went back once and owe them another visit soon. They had that one sold at the time and were finishing it for the customer. He asked us to come up with a design but we’ve been so busy with renovations at our house we haven’t had time yet. They are open to suggestions so maybe you could contact them!

    Great video. Just started watching your channel. My husband and I are also looking for the right tiny house situation for us. Unfortunately, we live in New England and most of the manufactures are in the south. There are a few in New Hampshire and one in Maine. Both are pricey. Because hey this is the Northeast and WAY too expensive. I wish we could tolerate the heat in Alabama. It really seems tiny friendly. We want our own piece of ground. I can’t see renting .

    • @50pluslife360
      @50pluslife360  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for your support and nice comment. The heat is something you learn to get used to and your body adapts to. Seven months a year it isn't bad at all and a few weeks it's actually quite cold - cool to NE standards. It's only the summer and blackberry summer that get hot. That's when everyone goes to the Gulf to cool off, stays in the AC or gets on their Harleys to feel the breeze in their knees! Good news is there is no lack of natural Vitamin D and seratonin.

    Is the wood pressure treated for termites and can the bunkbeds be removed and closets instead?

    • @50pluslife360
      @50pluslife360  Месяц назад

      Interior wood would not be pressure treated. It can be polyurethaned or painted for a nominal fee. Pressure treated interior wood isn’t healthy as it leeches chemicals as it cures. External wood is either pressure treated or painted as is typical. Avery Cabin Company may be able to replace the bunks with closets. You would have to contact them and ask.

    First thing I'd do is tear out the kitchen and start over - the person who designed the kitchen obviously doesn't cook. Makes no sense to have the sink and stove at a right angle to each other. No landing area to the right of the stove, and landing area to the left is inaccessible for anything but counter top storage. Narrow the width of the counter facing the living area, move the sink to the left and put the stove up against the outside wall, in line with the sink.
