Not since the video on Kaimere’s Probiscians have I been so thrilled to hear of the unexpected success of a clade!!! Of course, their heritage might be instilling bias within me, but nonetheless I’m yet again thrilled to learn even more about the diversity of this world! Social sirenians aren’t what I ever expected, but what I always needed, and it’s nice to hear that the Kentarim are peaceful towards another Afrothere! Honestly, I just need a plush Amunkiko at this point! While not directly related, a question I’ve had for a while is whether or not the Skinchangers of Kaimere could (theoretically, regardless if they do) adopt the morphology of some of these more derived animals, such as these Sirenians and their Probiscian cousins- or are their forms restricted to common and partially carnivorous animals? I can’t help but long to be one of these hypothetical skinchangers- I really want to imagine a Kentarim Skinchanger using this ability to communicate (and maybe even establish a formal alliance and trade) with the Chuga. One final curiosity- though it’s clear where my own biases lie, do you have a particular Kaimeran animal you would wish to be your skinchanger form? Wonderful video, as always- please never stop worldbuilding!
Thank you so much! Skin changers just tent to be social carnivores. Plenty of others out there, and sirenians and chuga are both perfectly viable! Given my love of the sea (as you can imagine by having my fantasy world built around a body of water rather than land being the focal point) I’d probably go with a sea lion or dolphin/small mosasaur!
There some herbivores that Skin-chnagers can transform into, but mainly dangerous herbivores who can defend themselves, like the two specie of Kangaroo who live in the Houze Prairie. Because the Skin-Changer inherit the same animal from their ancestor who change into animal (thank to the magic) because, folowing the urrent main theory, it's was in instinctive counter attack to a specific specie who attack them. For example, when a Kaimeran was attack and hurt by a lion, the magic turn him into a lion to defend himself. So, techniquely, all the harmless animals who not attack people in normal time are not elligible. But if Sirenian was aggressive creatue and attack people, here, this will be as viable and likely. Either I've been curious I've been watching your videos for a long time now how did the tiger fail where the lion exceeded cuz I know tigers are in more areas on the continent but Lions only are in two areas just curious😊
Random question : in a previous commentary in the previous video about the Homotherium of Kaimere, you awnser me that the Tiger of Kaimere have currently one single population who live exlusively in the Cresent Jungle, and his current "revised" specialize form is his current form to perfectly live in this habitat. So, with what you said, must the original generalist form (the one he has before his "revision") be perceived as an extinct form of the species when its range on Kaimere was larger and wider ? In all case, seeing a species of big cat go from a generalist behavior (Tiger first/original form) to a more specialized behavior (Current "revised" Crescent Tiger form) by undergoing an anatomical and color change in the process to better to be adapted to its only environment in which it can move, is interesting to follow ! And you last question ! The Tiger of Kaimere is obviousely not our current tiger, Panthera tigris. So, the Kaimeran Tiger is base on what genus of specie of extinct big cat ?
It is a descendant of a prehistoric cousin of Panthera tigris. It has since evolved into its own species. Since it diverged a bit before Panthera fossilis diverged from the ancestor of Panthera leo, but people still call P. fossilis and spelaea lions, I call this animal the Kaimeran tiger. Modern tigers all have a common ancestor around 100k years ago and this animal was harvested 1.5 million years ago, so you can imagine it’s a very different animal. I still call it a tiger since that’s its closest relative and even though they have yellow fur and more striped rosettes than proper stripes, it’s still very similar to tigers in behavior and appearance aside from superficial color/pattern

But at the moment he ressemble and look like a tiger in a way or an other in term of appearances and behaviors, we are all satisfied and like you said, can be like a tiger specie without problems. Even if some will prefers the ancient origins with the Trinil Tiger and deceived a little by this, for me, I prefer this one than the first because it's make more sens and is a credible origin, since the Trinil Tiger appears at 1,3 millions years to 700 000 years and can't be the ancestor of the Kaimeran Tiger where you said his ancestors came from a period before 1,3 million years.... But here, the problem is resolve ! To be honest, I was a little worried about his revision, but in final you was right and made well this change !
I love manatees. Sirenians are incredible animals. The Gao looks and lives a lot like the Amazonian manatee of our own world. Wait a minute, who's the Amukyuk descended from?

On earth, there 4 species of Sirenian, 3 species of Manatee and only one specie of Dugong. Here, On Kaimere, and just in the Known World area, there 6 species of Sirenian, 4 species of Dugongs and only 1 specie of Manatee (but maybe there others Manatee specie outside the region, ho known, case to follow for others videos). Despite Manatee and Dugong being very similar by far, there many differences between these two kind of Sirenian (the two being in two different families : the Dugong and Steller Sea Cow/Wa'Ayok in the Dugongidae, and the Manatee in the Trichechidea). First, the main caracteristic which makes it very easy to distinguish the two types from each other, is the shape/form of their caudal tails/ rear fin which they use to propel themselves. In the Dugong, the tail is triangular (similar to most of the fishes like shark), thus in the Manatee, the tail is competely round. In term of behaviors, the two kind are very similar life, but the Dugongs will prefer to live in open water/ocean than the Manatee who prefer to live most in estuaries, littoral or completely in freshwater area like lake or great rivers in the interior of the mainland.

(sorry i'm a linguistics major and love finding patterns and breaking down the roots of words in conlangs) ("gao" also feels like it might be from a different language than the term "amun", perhaps bc the gao dont live in the inland sea so only those on the northern and western continents would see them while the amun can be encountered by just about any culture that has any sort of coastal territory (apart from the ppl of Kaishel). Of course, that could just be me looking too much into the frequency or infrequency of sounds)
Because Kaimere is bigger and ,overall, way warmer than earth, and taking into account that like on earth the seas and oceans recovers the biggest surface of the planet than the continents all reunited, it's not surprising at all that every aquatic/marine mammals or reptiles on earth and introduce of Kaimere received all a diversity success equal or even better on Kaimere. Because there much more place and food thank to the size of the planet/oceans and the hot temperature, who let all this all this "small" marine community enough place and subsistence to live together without too much problem ! In all famillies and groups, even compared to the current stats on earth for the groups always alive on this later, there much more species diversity, testifying to this fact, despite the admittedly great but nevertheless fair competition here.
Here's some facts of Objecian Sirenians: They often live in kelp forests due to Objecia's colder climate, which causes a lack of seaweed meadows. Another reason: Very aggressive predators. Out at the seaweed meadows, Spiked Sharks guard the seaweed meadows. Any Sirenian that goes there will get eaten. Despite it being unlikely, Objecia has a few species of Sirenians. 3 look like Manatees, while the other 5 look more like Dugongs.
And also, Objecia's Sirenians are scared of boats. At least there aren't many boats on Objecia, as the objects prefer taking the train across the ocean using glass tunnels.
Sure that will be cool to have these animal But keenan said clearly that because there was any real harvest during the Tyrant Dynasty who took place in parallel of much of the Cenozoic until 15 million years ago on both Earth and Kaimere, and it was only after this key date that the Portal began to take hold again species of the earth in kaimere, this means that all eras before 15 million years ago as well as the species that lived there can be forgotten! That means that we can forget the Paleogene (with Paleocene, Eocene and Oligocene), and all of the Lower Miocene (with the Aquitanian and the Burdigalian subdivisions eras). It's only starting to the beginning of the superior Miocene we can ask. That means no little three hoof horses, any Gastornis, any Uintatherium, any Brontotherium, any Basilosaurus, Ambulocetus, Leptictidium, Boverisuchus etc... or relatives and descendants of these later on Kaimere too ! But at the same time, that will make too many animals/groups/clades/families. Even as exciting and beloved we love them all and wish they were there, on the planet to make, and realistiquely, most of them would most likely not be alive on Kaimere today.

It was harvested from the northern Atlantic 800k years ago, alongside the steppe mammoth and Panthera fossilis. This is in the same genus as the Steller’s sea cow, but a different species.

In this case, like you explain yourself in one of your Facebook account post, the hydrodamalis gigas was harvested in Kaimere and evolve into a new specie. At 800K years ago, there was only one specie of this genus and it's was the same who became extinct by man (only one specie of Hydrodamalis is reconize) and at this era, her repartition range was bigger than the one when she was discovered by mariner. It's was a relical specie when men discovers this specie. Like others sister specie, for example, there were the Bison priscus, who is the direct ancestor of the current European bison (bison bonasus). And because this extinct specie is the most closely related specie to this current specie rather than the American bison (bison bison), the term sister specie is valid. This scientific term is one of these terms in science to be carefull because he can make a lot of misunderstanding and mistake !

So for the need of the video, and the universe of Kaimere, we will said that there were Steller Sea Cow in the Atlantic and were harvested in Kaimere to become the Wa'Ayok. Because it's the most famous specie and because it's impossible that a non describe specie of the genus can't live instead because 800k years ago was a very recent time in geological term and if there were fossils of a unidentify specie of the genus who live in permanence in this area, we should find at least some of these since a very long time. With a very small population of Steller Sea Cow or even accidental lost specimens outside their repartion range, it's normal to find any fossil, even more if the specimens in question were harvested. In addition, Hydrodamalis was thé closest specie in term of repartition range to the area of the 800k years ago harvest. The others being even more distant repartition range.
I love the anaconda inspired coloring of the sea serpent! (At least I would assume so) Also, couldn’t some kaimerans just use long boats like viking ships to hunt in the kelp forest? As they have a shallow draft they are well suited to going up river and through shallow water. This design would also help with keeping it from getting tangled up in any kelp.
Heck yeah! Anacondas and a few other pythons worked together to inspire that design. The Akanuk have some ships with shallow hulls for such hunts, but most of their crafts have deep hulls and outriggers for lots of storage and stable ocean travel. They do have crafts more catered to hunting in kelp forests, but even that can be dangerous
The Sirenian are named from the mythological Sirens/mermaids of European culture (the fish like woman, ones, not the greek bird ones, despite the word siren refering this later kind thus mermaid refereing the fish like kind), because it's these animals who are the main major inspiration from this fantastical creature ! It's because mariner and explorators on boat, especially during the Christophe Colomb era and the first time of the colonisation of America, see these creature from far that, after misindentification and mistake from these people, they thought to be, and have seen, woman with the inferior of their body to be fish like ! When we compared a current sirenian with a generic mermaid of our cultur .... well ... it's true the sexyness and the beautiful aspect is not really apparent and the explorators must see the from verrrry far to made this result, but overall, it's true there some similarities wan make some confusion ! Ironiquely, on Kaimere, there Sirenian and true mermaids as the same time ! (there many mermaids species, created by the First Children, and are homunculi like the Harpies or demons).
The Wa'Ayok is a sister specie of the Steller Sea Cow (Hydrodamalis gigas), the famous specie badly know to become extinct in only 27 years (a record), but haven't any real overall differences between her and the others. This specie is the biggest current Sirenian specie in the Known World. She a perfect cold adapted animal, and is mainly a surface marine creature because her body is made to float as naturally as possible. This ability was the big weakness for the Steller Sea Cow on earth since she was by this fact a easy target for the hunters. But the Wa'Ayok is not a specie who is hunted by anyone, and even if the case happen, his existence is not treaten. In fact, the Wa'Ayok is the direct progeny/descendants of the Steller Sea Cow since there was no other giant sirenian specie like this later and who live with her at the 804-770 kya Ice Age Harvest in the Northern Eurasian Pleistocene, and who was introduce instead her. Here, on Kaimere, during this harvest, it's the Steller Sea Cow who was introduce, and, with time, evolved to a new complete separate specie here named the Wa'Ayok (but this specie still in the same Hydrodamalis genus). Well there are certainly life forms endemic to the planet in the sense that they are only found there (all nonavian dinosaurs are endemic in that they are not found on Earth), but I assume you mean that are evolved with no Earth ancestors. All plants and animals are descended from Earth ancestors, but the magic and many other unicellular organisms have evolved with no Earth ancestors.

As the Wa'Ayok were able to swim over the Polar Sea to Kaishel, as they can't submerge themselves and seem to be two-dimensional swimmers, how exactly do they defend themselves from predators bigger than they are?
Kelp forests are their best defense. Echolocators struggle to find them and there’s a huge entanglement and drowning risk if you aren’t careful. Orcas generally rely on drowning to take out prey and it was remarked while Stellar’s sea cows were alive that orcas generally couldn’t take them out since they were too buoyant to drown. They also have pretty significant tusks and a powerful tail that helps fend off some threats. They avoid open water since they are vulnerable but they’re not just passive masses of meat

So, the Kaimeran Tiger is base on what genus of specie of extinct big cat ?
It is a descendant of a prehistoric cousin of Panthera tigris. It has since evolved into its own species. Since it diverged a bit before Panthera fossilis diverged from the ancestor of Panthera leo, but people still call P. fossilis and spelaea lions, I call this animal the Kaimeran tiger. Modern tigers all have a common ancestor around 100k years ago and this animal was harvested 1.5 million years ago, so you can imagine it’s a very different animal. I still call it a tiger since that’s its closest relative and even though they have yellow fur and more striped rosettes than proper stripes, it’s still very similar to tigers in behavior and appearance aside from superficial color/pattern

Even if some will prefers the ancient origins with the Trinil Tiger and deceived a little by this, for me, I prefer this one than the first because it's make more sens and is a credible origin, since the Trinil Tiger appears at 1,3 millions years to 700 000 years and can't be the ancestor of the Kaimeran Tiger where you said his ancestors came from a period before 1,3 million years....

There’s a lot of art I need to do before the titans are ready and with all their osteoderms it takes a long time. Hoping to have their video ready within the next month or two but that depends on how much time I have
On earth, there 4 species of Sirenian, 3 species of Manatee and only one specie of Dugong. Here, On Kaimere, and just in the Known World area, there 6 species of Sirenian, 4 species of Dugongs and only 1 specie of Manatee (but maybe there others Manatee specie outside the region, ho known, case to follow for others videos).
Despite Manatee and Dugong being very similar by far, there many differences between these two kind of Sirenian (the two being in two different families : the Dugong and Steller Sea Cow/Wa'Ayok in the Dugongidae, and the Manatee in the Trichechidea).
First, the main caracteristic which makes it very easy to distinguish the two types from each other, is the shape/form of their caudal tails/
rear fin which they use to propel themselves. In the Dugong, the tail is triangular (similar to most of the fishes like shark), thus in the Manatee, the tail is competely round.
In term of behaviors, the two kind are very similar life, but the Dugongs will prefer to live in open water/ocean than the Manatee who prefer to live most in estuaries, littoral or completely in freshwater area like lake or great rivers in the interior of the mainland.

("gao" also feels like it might be from a different language than the term "amun", perhaps bc the gao dont live in the inland sea so only those on the northern and western continents would see them while the amun can be encountered by just about any culture that has any sort of coastal territory (apart from the ppl of Kaishel). Of course, that could just be me looking too much into the frequency or infrequency of sounds)
Because Kaimere is bigger and ,overall, way warmer than earth, and taking into account that like on earth the seas and oceans recovers the biggest surface of the planet than the continents all reunited, it's not surprising at all that every aquatic/marine mammals or reptiles on earth and introduce of Kaimere received all a diversity success equal or even better on Kaimere. Because there much more place and food thank to the size of the planet/oceans and the hot temperature, who let all this all this "small" marine community enough place and subsistence to live together without too much problem !
In all famillies and groups, even compared to the current stats on earth for the groups always alive on this later, there much more species diversity, testifying to this fact, despite the admittedly great but nevertheless fair competition here.
Here's some facts of Objecian Sirenians: They often live in kelp forests due to Objecia's colder climate, which causes a lack of seaweed meadows. Another reason: Very aggressive predators. Out at the seaweed meadows, Spiked Sharks guard the seaweed meadows. Any Sirenian that goes there will get eaten. Despite it being unlikely, Objecia has a few species of Sirenians. 3 look like Manatees, while the other 5 look more like Dugongs.
And also, Objecia's Sirenians are scared of boats. At least there aren't many boats on Objecia, as the objects prefer taking the train across the ocean using glass tunnels.

But keenan said clearly that because there was any real harvest during the Tyrant Dynasty who took place in parallel of much of the Cenozoic until 15 million years ago on both Earth and Kaimere, and it was only after this key date that the Portal began to take hold again species of the earth in kaimere, this means that all eras before 15 million years ago as well as the species that lived there can be forgotten!

It was harvested from the northern Atlantic 800k years ago, alongside the steppe mammoth and Panthera fossilis. This is in the same genus as the Steller’s sea cow, but a different species.

At 800K years ago, there was only one specie of this genus and it's was the same who became extinct by man (only one specie of Hydrodamalis is reconize) and at this era, her repartition range was bigger than the one when she was discovered by mariner. It's was a relical specie when men discovers this specie.
Like others sister specie, for example, there were the Bison priscus, who is the direct ancestor of the current European bison (bison bonasus). And because this extinct specie is the most closely related specie to this current specie rather than the American bison (bison bison), the term sister specie is valid.

So for the need of the video, and the universe of Kaimere, we will said that there were Steller Sea Cow in the Atlantic and were harvested in Kaimere to become the Wa'Ayok. Because it's the most famous specie and because it's impossible that a non describe specie of the genus can't live instead because 800k years ago was a very recent time in geological term and if there were fossils of a unidentify specie of the genus who live in permanence in this area, we should find at least some of these since a very long time. With a very small population of Steller Sea Cow or even accidental lost specimens outside their repartion range, it's normal to find any fossil, even more if the specimens in question were harvested. In addition, Hydrodamalis was thé closest specie in term of repartition range to the area of the 800k years ago harvest. The others being even more distant repartition range.

Also, couldn’t some kaimerans just use long boats like viking ships to hunt in the kelp forest? As they have a shallow draft they are well suited to going up river and through shallow water. This design would also help with keeping it from getting tangled up in any kelp.
Heck yeah! Anacondas and a few other pythons worked together to inspire that design.
The Akanuk have some ships with shallow hulls for such hunts, but most of their crafts have deep hulls and outriggers for lots of storage and stable ocean travel. They do have crafts more catered to hunting in kelp forests, but even that can be dangerous

The Sirenian are named from the mythological Sirens/mermaids of European culture (the fish like woman, ones, not the greek bird ones, despite the word siren refering this later kind thus mermaid refereing the fish like kind), because it's these animals who are the main major inspiration from this fantastical creature !
It's because mariner and explorators on boat, especially during the Christophe Colomb era and the first time of the colonisation of America, see these creature from far that, after misindentification and mistake from these people, they thought to be, and have seen, woman with the inferior of their body to be fish like !
When we compared a current sirenian with a generic mermaid of our cultur .... well ... it's true the sexyness and the beautiful aspect is not really apparent and the explorators must see the from verrrry far to made this result, but overall, it's true there some similarities wan make some confusion !

The Wa'Ayok is a sister specie of the Steller Sea Cow (Hydrodamalis gigas), the famous specie badly know to become extinct in only 27 years (a record), but haven't any real overall differences between her and the others. This specie is the biggest current Sirenian specie in the Known World. She a perfect cold adapted animal, and is mainly a surface marine creature because her body is made to float as naturally as possible. This ability was the big weakness for the Steller Sea Cow on earth since she was by this fact a easy target for the hunters. But the Wa'Ayok is not a specie who is hunted by anyone, and even if the case happen, his existence is not treaten.
In fact, the Wa'Ayok is the direct progeny/descendants of the Steller Sea Cow since there was no other giant sirenian specie like this later and who live with her at the 804-770 kya Ice Age Harvest in the Northern Eurasian Pleistocene, and who was introduce instead her.
Here, on Kaimere, during this harvest, it's the Steller Sea Cow who was introduce, and, with time, evolved to a new complete separate specie here named the Wa'Ayok (but this specie still in the same Hydrodamalis genus).

Well there are certainly life forms endemic to the planet in the sense that they are only found there (all nonavian dinosaurs are endemic in that they are not found on Earth), but I assume you mean that are evolved with no Earth ancestors. All plants and animals are descended from Earth ancestors, but the magic and many other unicellular organisms have evolved with no Earth ancestors.

The sea camel
It’s a species of dugong that has adapted to have small boar like tusks and with a hump of the back and camel like eyes ( for seeing through sand clouds )
They are the size of a small car

So picture a descendent of a thallosocanus that’s had to grow a dolphin like tail to swim better along with a “fin” on the back with claws to defend it self

Kelp forests are their best defense. Echolocators struggle to find them and there’s a huge entanglement and drowning risk if you aren’t careful. Orcas generally rely on drowning to take out prey and it was remarked while Stellar’s sea cows were alive that orcas generally couldn’t take them out since they were too buoyant to drown. They also have pretty significant tusks and a powerful tail that helps fend off some threats. They avoid open water since they are vulnerable but they’re not just passive masses of meat
