Man how disease avoidant would Kaimeran cultures be? When you get such long lifespans you care much more about staying alive and see any outside threat to life as abhorrent for ending so much potential. I wonder if we’ll ever get an episode dealing with the many plagues that have rolled over the Known World
Their caution about their lives is a big reason why they’re not likely to have an industrial revolution. Shapes a lot about their cultures and how they approach warfare and innovation. Caution about disease, even though their magic allows them to shrug off most things, is a big part of their isolationism.

@@xuanluu4873 They do have vaccinations and inoculation (mostly the latter but alchemists have created vaccines to some diseases) but are still very cautious, especially of Earth. These advancements have helped the Empire and Republic with more widespread trade and trust in the Free-States merchants, although Pakardia and the Khalin remain fairly reserved, and Arvelith openly hostile to outsiders after the Barren Plague.

I think a good English name for the Gotwat is the Devil Monkey. In the Appalachian Mountains, there are legends of baboon-like monkeys that roam the woods, putting off a horrid stench, and are slightly aggressive towards humans.

Educationnals Facts : The Night Monkeys, also called "Owl Monkeys" or "Douroucouli", are a true groups of current living species of New World Monkeys who represents the few real nocturnal primates among the modern monkeys today.
They are 11 species of these animals, all of them being in the same Aotu genus, of the Aotidae family.
Their closest relatives are the current Cebidae monkeys, who include all the others New World Monkeys !
Nice! So I was kinda right that the Paradolicopithecus species might be percieved as a type of homunculi by the kaimerans. I just didn't expect it to apply to all monkeys in general but it makes quite a bit of sense for a lot of them.
Yup! In a world with half human monsters on the fringes of the known world it seemed reasonable that they would look at a monkey and see cat or dog demons

The art on the Common Monkeys make me think of some sailors using monkeys drinking beer as a competition and pastime

Very interesting, makes a lot of sense that they would think monkeys are demons. They becoming companions of sailors is cool, though. I know it was presented in a previous episode (I think the pangolin one?) but going over the details has been interesting, they are more of an extra crewmember rather than a mascot of the boat, neat.
Also, the kelani is a very cool idea. I find funny that people think they are converging with humans, as if there was a goal in evolution, but it's also a creature I can see evolving. I just hope their bipedalism doesn't bring them as much problems as ours do.
They’re smaller and on a slower path to bipedalism, still with some quadrupedal running adaptations, so don’t have the same back, knee, and hip problems we do
Also, I can imagine the folktale of a ship that was a travelling animal circus of sorts, with no actual human sailors sailing the ship. The monkeys were the acrobats, the cats and lynxes sang, the parrots recited poetry, and/or engaged in clownish slapstick, the dogs raced around the deck, and the pigs were the ones forced to sweep the deck and actually sail the ship.

Also to be fair, Adapiform primates are closer to true lemurs than they are to monkeys and apes, so calling them lemurs is more accurate than calling them monkeys.

It's quite cool and Awesome that Kaimere have his own version/equivalent of the famous Dinopithecus !
But it's quite clever to show that kind of animals, despite the terrific and aggressive appearances, are ainly calme and quiet if not distub, and mainly herbivorous than meat-eater !
Another great episode! Monkeys(especially old world) hold a special place in my heart along with apes. Catarrhini and crocodilians are my favorite modern animal groups.

The lemurs
They mostly resemble earth lemurs
BUT one is not like the others
It’s called
THE FALSE APE
This lemur is a living descendant of the gorilla like lemur that I can’t remember the name of
Now the monkeys
There is
The greater marmoset
These marmosets can grow up to the size of a medium sized dog
Babookari ( yes the name is inspired for the future is wild )
These baboon like monkeys are know for their affinity with water
Being also known as the swamp monkeys
But they are often hunted by young baryzonkryx ‘ hyozar ( jaguar hyenadont basically ) and species of new animal Nezzox ( a HUMONGOUS fresh water plesiosaur native of the abyss lakes on the largest land mass in the biodome )
they are as big as a 7 year old child ( the monkeys not the plesiosaur )
The next are called
The wozo
These forest baboons are about 7 ft tall on hind legs and with dark grey fur they are also called the wolf monkeys
And finally the apes
Gigantopithicus formidolosus
This new species are of gigantopithicus are now 12 ft tall ( at the shoulder ) and now eat bamboo ( but still omnivorous ok ) but these variations of this chonker of a ape are not a friendly
No living in a world where massive theropods and come out and attack
Made these apes become so aggressive they’ll KILL and theropod in their line of sight ( but are easily taken care off by kokokaka )
And now the strangers of the primates

After Australopithecus was introduced to the biodome two groups one went off into the mountains and adapted/evolved
And the other being a offshoot of the yeti living in the forests and Swamps ( they even got moss on them : > )

Paradolicophitecus is an an awesome kind of concurrent evolution that could be reasonably happen also on earth (obviously for hypothesis). Personally I consider if something similar were (ever for hypothesis) happened I bet more on baboons than the macaques

Their range and overall health situation in the presence and following the introduction of newer plant species ?
Or all truly plants orders that look very ancient and prehistoric we can find again today, like the ones we can find in New Zeland, known to be one of the oldest places on earth and same for most of his endemic flora known to be relatively unchanged since the Mesozoic (btw, most of the production of 1999 "Walking with Dinosaurs" episodes TV show filmed in this place).
And also, about the current situation of extinct plants orders on earth like Lepidodendrons, Cordaitales, Pteridospermales, Progymnospermes, prehistoric extinct
Sea Lily Crinoïdes, Cheirolepidiaceae and Bennettitales?
At least, every of these groups or species mus have at least one living surviving representatives on the planet !
Q: Did any of the other human species thrive/still exist on Kaimere? The world building potential could be interesting.

I may be biased as a simioform myself, but Primates are some of my all time favorite animals and these are beautiful monkeys (especially that big Gotwat Macaque, love the golden fur). Question, have New or Old World monkey's spread to the Eastern Continent or are the adapiforms solely dominant on that landmass? Also since Common Macaques hitch rides on ships have they spread to Kaishel?
Thanks! New world monkeys have in the dense rainforest period and during the brief land bridge connection around 8 mya, but no old world monkeys. Trade to Kaishel is exclusively the To Katon and Akanuk, peoples not part of the Free States trade network, so a monkey getting all the way down wouldn't be terribly likely. If anything a pet passed through a long chain of trade but only occasional individuals, not an established population.
Looks like we’re returning to monke. With that said, I’ll hold off on the memes since some of these critters don’t look like they can take a joke without taking me apart. Especially Gotwats and Highland Monkeys.
Quick questions since my curiosity is peaked.
1. Are there any primates on Kaimere that are basically your rendition of King Kong or is the Gigantopithecus the only one that comes close?
2. Will these miscreants get a spotlight in future Kaimere stories?
3. Are there any other animals that have achieved humanlike sapience? I did remember seeing your Tyrant Dynasty image featuring a troodontid holding a tool or something so it got me thinking there were nonhuman civilizations at one point.
Yeah gotwat are truly awful and humorless lol. Highland monkeys can probably take a joke to a certain point but I'm not keen on seeking their limits.
1. the Gigantopithecus and giant Sivapithecine are as close as we get in the natural world, although the First Children almost certainly pushed those limits.
2. Absolutely.
3. Many animals have reached human levels of intelligence, but I'm planning on exploring how that intelligence manifests in different ways. Want to avoid copying and pasting how we express our smarts. Notzokideu, social intelligent pterosaurs, are probably the closest. Indrakai are also close but being monogamous animals that live in small groups their intelligence isn't going to look like ours if that makes sense.

So if the Indrakai for instance do possess high intelligence, it’ll be more difficult for us to understand how they have it because first off, they’re animals that don’t speak English (to my knowledge), and second off, they have very different lifestyles from our own. It’s kind of like what you said what about the Uktan being the smartest megaraptorans according to some Kaimerans but only being labeled as such due to them have social and cooperative behaviors that we as humans can understand.

@@coreys.2456 Officially, the Indrakai is not sapient at all despite being very intelligent. The Notzokideu and the Troodontids Dinosauroïds (extinct in the Known World but petfectly alive in the Eastern Continent) are sapient and have the same degree/are as concient and inteligence than/as humain and Kaimeran.
Also, except errors of mine, all the Homunculies are sapient too.
I forgot, did you already do an ape episode? I remember an orangutan that tied their hair up for some reason.
I featured the an'garu, largest primate of Kaimere, in my episode on parental care strategies. Apes as a whole haven't gotten an episode yet.

Well, I am Not surprised that Pakardia does have one terrifying Killer-Monkey. They're just.. Too adaptable. As for their intelligence that did allow them to make transactions like us the human beings... Why am I not surprised one bit?

12:22 I find that statement funny, although probably true. In Portuguese, all monkeys (cercopithecoid or ceboid) and apes (hominoids), and traditionally not humans, are given the same common name of "macaco" (a word which is cognate with "macaque" despite having a much broader meaning).
As such, most Brazilians, and I suppose also Portuguese, Angolan etc. wouldn't consider chimps and baboons to be in different groups from each other or from a capuchin, for example; all are "macacos".
Also, given that gibbons, in English, are often called "lesser apes", it could be said that the crown group of Cercopithecidae constitutes a monophyletic "Old World monkeys".
Planet of the Apes becomes funny when a human calls an ape "macaco" and the ape gets mad and asks to be called "macaco".

Thanks! The most recent harvest was in the Holocene of North America to repopulate the Qajarith Peninsula but was stopped by the First Children building the containment device around the portal before the harvest could complete. A few creatures, most notably opossums, managed to get a foothold, but all the megafauna was in too small a population and were subsequently hunted to extinction by the First Children to clear their home.
As for what’s next: giraffoids and domesticated lions are on the horizon!

It's quit Awesome and Great to see that Kaimere have his own version/equivalent of the famous and beloved Dinopithecus with the Highland Monkey !
But it's also quit clever and good that you show this kind of animals being, despite the aggressive and terrific look, in reality rather calme and normal animals if not disturb, and also most mainly herbivorous and frugivorous rather than meat-eater (eating this ressource only as complement when the occassion happen).
But yes, it's completely comprehensive that Baboon and Geladas manage to survived on Kaimere instead of the others long-tailed Old World small Monkeys relatives, since they can efficiently defend and attack predators with their fangs and being bigger than ost of the apes.
If there is the Dinofelis on Kaimere, are there species of Australopithecus, Ardipithecus, Paranthropus (“robust Australopithecus”) and even maybe some Dryopithecini/Dryopithecus genus species since this Apes lived at the same time and places than this big cat felid (who is mainly known by the public to be their Number one worst ennemy/predators) ?Because they can technically survived in Kaimere environement.
In a world dominated by theropods dinosaurs and other predators, in many number that in Africa where they come, they can survive in this competitive world by (re)adopting again a way of life almost exclusively and mainly arboreal, only comes down to drink or find extra food. They can also live in forest and dense forest areas (mainly hot tropical humid jungle but also conifers and temperate areas for some of them). They are very social, organize and precautious creatures, always on the alert.
They are enough adaptable creature, being smart, intelligent, and inventive animals, that can resolve quickly like modern ape (chimpanzee, gorilla, orang-outan) problems, can walk as biped as quadruped if the needs are necessary, may travel long distances for food or other needs on foot or from tree to tree. They also can made and use basic and rudimentary tools. And are highly omnivorous generalists.
At size side, they are for most of them very similar to Kaimeran. Some time, they could even reproduce between them, making viable hybrids who can themselves reproduce to have a progeny !
Of course, every species must live and must to have migrate outside the Known World region for the most stable and less competitives parts of Kaimere planet since the African Harvest that brought the Dinofelis. They can also be a good another inclusion in the lore of Kaimere as "Ape men" creatures and have pretty interesting interactions and impact with Kaimeran's cultur ! Like to be linked to the First Children since their size is very small compared to a standard human.
One question. Has there ever been a major conflict between the peoples of kaimere
It's a shame that there any Long-Tailed Old World small monkey on Kaimere, since these species and the tribes inside this group (like the Cercopithecini for example) include most of the most colored (with warm colors like red, organge or yellowplease) and beautiful monkeys/primates of the world !
Like the Brazza Cercopethecus (Cercopithecus neglectus), the Diana monkey (Cercopithecus diana) or the Red-legged douc (Pygathrix nemaeus), to mention some example.
Also, many of these specie, like the Patas, live perfectly in the warm and almost arid bush, savannah open-spaces areas where the not many trees.
But still, the primates there already on Kaimere remains entertaining to watch !

What are the panther monkey and the painted monkey like, I'm not sure you covered them in your video.
I did not. Didn't have enough time to cover every monkey so I tried to touch on the ones that really stuck out or were important to Kaimeran cultures. Didn't even draw half of the macaques: there's other small generalists in the forests, a stub-tail in the Crescent mountains, and a semiaquatic crab-eater. Painted monkey is a species of large uakari and live functionally the same.

The maku and if I recall correctly all other human species in Kaimere, with the exception of the kaimerians, are descendant from Homo erectus. I think Keenan has said that the neanderthals never came through.

Tons. Cenozoic Madagascar for example was never harvested so all of the endemic clades there are not present.
Given how much monkeys get into stuff I would think they would be too much trouble on a boat to be worth it
*generally* they barely win out in usefulness, and they're smart and aware of human body language enough to know when is too far. Also endear themselves to the captain and officers helps.

More omnivorous but they are analogous when they hunt. Typically much smaller game than themselves though.

I wasn’t able to cover every monkey. There are small macaque species in the three forest continents and a mountain species in the northern continent that I didn’t get to cover either.

Random Question : Just to know, have you ever thought of doing some kind of Contest, ones that are started by people who are doing worldbuilding in one way or another on something and who organize contest events where fans and followers give and send ideas and fanarts of landscapes or as in your case here with Kaimere, speculative creatures/species;
And after having chosen and selected one or many (a small groups among the best or more pertinent and inventive) (fan)arts according to their characteristics etc... the authors, as a reward for the winners of the contest, decide that the creations these same winners participants either include in a 100% canon way and integrated into their own speculative universe ?
Have you already you ever implemented something similar in the past ? Or if not yet, do you have plans or the desire to carry out such contest?
Because, for example, C.M Kosemen have many time made many contest where fans send to him news species ideas for Snaiad speculative world project where Kosemen selected and canonizing the fans creations he liked the most into the Lore of Snaid universe !
That shoulb be cool that Kaimere World have time to time this sort of event !
When I was building my Instagram platform I did several contests to design Kaimere creatures. I’m cautious of doing that at this stage since Kaimere is now my livelihood and copyright on that sort of thing is fuzzy. Once I have an agent I plan on pursuing that to some degree, although I also have a lot of rules for how I develop creatures and can’t just add random ideas that don’t fit.

I asked that just because this kind of event is quite popular and happen time to time, mainly because this sort of contest where the creations of some people have the chance to see their species being a complete part of the worldbuilding universe they love and follow, BUT also because this kind of event show how close and good the relation between the authors and the followers community is !
But if for now, you haven't plans to make this sort of event, because you haven't yet enough developped you world to allw you to do that, it's not a big problem !
We can wait all the require time to see, maybe, a day a event like this when Kaimere will be enough developped.
When I mention Snaiad, it's true that I forgot to precise that the universe of Kosemen was already enought developped to alloy the authors to pass more time watching and choosing the arts that his fans made base on his work. Sorry for this forgeted detailed !
But netherless, you developped pretty well Kaimere in a quick/fast time. That made only 2-3 years that the project exist and when we see ALL the things accomplished from the beginning, none of us can not be in awe of your work and your admiration!

Did you know that the famous Megopteran in Primeval (TV Show you ADORE), is none others that a Contest Creature Creations created by a certain Carim Nahaboo, aged 16, in the Create Your Own Creature Competition held by ITV. Contest made to designing a new Primeval creature by choosing the winner submission ?
Because Me, personnaly, I find pretty awesome and interesting !
Also, there was, in the same contest event, others creatures concepts submission like :
- Chaos, the anomaly creature - a rather bizzare creature, it is made up of several anomalies and creatures, including the Future Predator, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Pteranodon and Utahraptor. by Indy Taylor
- Dunkleodon - a highly evolved version of the Dunkleosteus. It lives in a harsh environment which consists of dry rocky plains. by Richard James Partridge
- Draptersaurus - a unclassified reptile with a yellow saliva mixed with blood from its victim spilling out its mouth. It has mega strong teeth. The horrible looking talon on its tail does the same as the claws but is stronger. Its tail is super strong and its skin is impossible to penetrate. Despite that the Marmosset, Common Capuchin, Squirrel Monkey, Night Monkey and Howler Monkey we see here and no of these any of the current living species of the, respectively, Callithrix, Cebus, Saimiri, Aotus and Alouatta genus; It's still interesting that the representatives on Kaimere remains almost complete identical to their living cousins on earth since their arrivals and widespread success. They are so successfull that they haven't the needs to change or evolved for most of them !
It's also very funny and hilarious in some occassions :)

The chaos is unending. Some cultures consider it taboo because they are considered demons, some say monkeys are lucky and therefore bad luck to eat them, others say they are filthy and cannot be eaten. The Pakardiant forbid the consumption of any man-eater so gotwat are forbidden. Very few cultures eat monkeys but they're out there.

My favorite monkey is probably the capuchin. I worked with one briefly at the zoo I was a docent at and she had so much personality. Macaques I think are really neat especially after all this research I did into them for this episode.

The painted monkey is a Pitheciine. A species of uakari. Might have a couple sakis too. Definitely yes on spider monkeys. Just didn't have time to draw them all.

There are not. Macaques we’re already established where the mandrills were replicated and couldn’t outcompete them.

Random Question : If there is the Dinofelis big cat specie on Kaimere, are there species of Australopithecus, Ardipithecus, Paranthropus (“robust Australopithecus”) and even maybe some Dryopithecini/Dryopithecus genus species since this Apes lived at the same time and places than this big cat felid (who is mainly known by the public to be their Number one worst ennemy/predators) ?
Because they can technically survived in Kaimere environement.
In a world dominated by theropods dinosaurs and other predators, in many number that in Africa where they come, they can survive in this competitive world by (re)adopting again a way of life almost exclusively and mainly arboreal, only comes down to drink or find extra food. They can also live in forest and dense forest areas (mainly hot tropical humid jungle but also conifers and temperate areas for some of them).
They are very social, organize and precautious creatures, always on the alert. They are enough adaptable creature, being smart, intelligent, and inventive animals, that can resolve quickly like modern ape (chimpanzee, gorilla, orang-outan) problems, can walk as biped as quadruped if the needs are necessary, may travel long distances for food or other needs on foot or from tree to tree.
They also can made and use basic and rudimentary tools. And are highly omnivorous generalists. At size side, they are for most of them very similar to Kaimeran. Some time, they could even reproduce between them, making viable hybrids who can themselves reproduce to have a progeny !
Of course, every species must live and msut to have migrate outside the Known World region for the most stable and less competitives parts of Kaimere planet since the African Harvest that brought the Dinofelis.
They can also be a good another inclusion in the lore of Kaimere as "Ape men" creatures and have pretty interesting interactions and impact with Kaimeran's cultur ! Like to be linked to the First Children since their size is very small compared to a standard human.
Kaimeran dinofelis is from Southeast Asia 1.5 million years ago. There were no harvests that coincided with australopithecines. H. erectus was the earliest human brought to Kaimere, and the African harvest 250k years ago was long after the species you mention went extinct.

It's one of if not the only Uakari species in Kaimere. Might have some others in the other jungles. They are a sister species of the bald uakari, closer to them than the black-headed uakari but not the same species. They lead very similar lives to the bald uakari.
@@TalesofKaimere Well, for a Uakari, He don't resseble a lot to one of them, especially since the Painted onkey hae not his head bald with high red skin.
Technically, if this specie is a sister specie to the Bald Uakari, the Painted Monkey should look almost identical to this later.
Here, he look more a relative species from another genus who represent an evolutionnay stage of the Uakaris' lineage before the Uakari become the High Red Bald Headed with Woolly Coat species with know so far !

Considering how common homosexuality is in nature, definitely the first creatures ever harvested had some members inclined in that direction.

But animals made homosexuals stuff most of the time when the conditions about their life and survival are to the highgest and reunited. Mainly when their life and the one of their species is not threatened at all.
Because every animal will unilateral made Heterosexual stuff in order to perpetuate their own species, it's an obligation and primary instinct. But when everything is clean, like when they are in a zoo, where they rien anything, they are allowed to do whatever they want like Homosexual stuff if they want.

It's a shame that there aren't any Cercopithecini species in Kaimere, since these apes are especially known to include most of the colorful and most beautiful Primates and Monkeys species in the World !
Such as the Brazza's Monkey (Cercopithecus neglectus), the Diane's Monkey (Cercopithecus diana) or even the Douc's langur (Pygathrix nemaeus) in the Colobinae sub-family !
Because warm colors such red, orange and yellow is a rare traits among modern evolved Old World Primates !
Plus, many of the Long-Tailed monkeys of the Known World, especially the ones who live in Africa can live in warm, savannah open spaces areas, whithout any trees, like the Patas Monkey (Erythrocebus patas).
Patas monkeys are probably going to be included with a similar range to the baboon.
Watch out mate if you are doing a primate who can walk on all four and also bipedal you shouldn't do it in this erectal position but probably more like the Baboon but anyway great vid mate
Figured with 1.5 million years of evolution past a monkey already having a number of bipedal adaptations they could be a lot more efficient than just the standard shuffle of baboons.
