- Let's talk about Teostra's moveset and how it can potentially cost us a lot of potions and money... Teostra has a very aggressive and explosive moveset in monster hunter rise. If teostra in mhnow has the same moveset then we can expect to use up a lot of potions and spend a lot of money.

@RobertoGomez-ty5sj everything except dualblades and gunlance. It will all have blast status ailment, except LBG with Fire element but with sticky ammo (is like blast attack so)
I think Teostra will have moves more reminiscent to World than Rise since he got some moves changes to combat wirebug. And we don't have wirebug on MH NOW

Well to activate bubbly dance, you'll have to dodge. So by dodging you also remove blast blight haha

Blast weapons have a high raw at 615 and 440 for element damage
Plus, Bow at a lv. 3 charge can shoot lv. 4 shot and the order of charge shots is

I prefer Teostra over Kushala. I've hunted Teostra waaaayyyy more than thr tornado dragon. I'm sure I can predict hus moves rather easily
That is why I’m going to light bowgun Teostra, got to keep away from it!😉 And maybe we can activate a special skill right before the supernova goes off to avoid that damage?🤔
As a Gunlance I didn't have to worry about the Super Nova, the animation is very obvious and I was able to back dash out of harm's way.
But this by far the easiest of the two Elders. Especially since Kushala gave us a nice team bonus weapon that is effective against Teostra
Teostra has been way easier than kushala with the GS since you can charge as he does his flamethrower....also... resentment go brrrr against teostra
Only problem is the blast dust particles on the ground than can sometimes be hit or miss
looks like im going to only craft it's armor, too much effort to craft weapon to 10-5
This hunt is gonna be very challenging.
Both for gyro and lock on player.
Let's go over why...
Lock on players = limited movement (but big fov)
Gyro players = unlimited movement (positioning good... but at cost of field of view)
This is gonna be a mix bag of complaints I feel from the community.
Another thing to go over is his burn damage. Being within his range while in blast mode will torch melee users for hp. If that hp drain from the heat is a factor... that will be where ALL the potions will flow for.
I think niatic needs to make adjustments to field of view and how it's non adjustable.
If ya could bring awareness to this b4 niatic releases him that would be epic.
I'm already juiced for the hunt and I'm totally ready... but running gyro and having a smaller field of view to not see where his blast powder is will make It exceptionally hard even for a seasoned vet like myself.

Thanks for sharing your insights man! Teostra definitely needs to be balanced for mhnow. The fire armor and blast powder will be too strong esp when we have limited HP. Ive always wanted to zoom out FOV when using gyro pls niantic but looks like ill have to use lock on for this one.
I wish HAT cooldowns were apart from Elder Dragon Interceptions.
There have been so many times I dont do a HAT to avoid the cooldown from letting me participate in an EDI but then the EDI doesnt spawn and I end up missing out on the HAT
True that but niantic wouldnt want that. They would want you to spend on tickets

Water and Ice weapons
Teostra is weak to water and ice. For blast weapons, i suggest the sns, ls, or bow. But use whatever's your main weapon :)
Seems like there’s a mechanic that requires you to deal a certain amount of elemental damage to remove its auras. One for the flame aura, one for the blast aura. So using elemental instead of raw is going to be important for making the hunt smoother, although bblos bow will probably still be good too.
I have bblos at 10.4, mizu LS at 9.5 and kush bow at 8.5, and I still don’t know what I’m going to use. Reaaaally need a single water attack driftsmelt so I can drop the garbage jyura chest for LS…
i've prepared ice and water ranged weapons just in case if teo will have his fire aura lol

God forbid we dont get "Lunastra". I HATED fighting these Elders in the main games 😭
It would be a waste not to get lunastra as well haha!
Remember in the old games when Lunastra was the easier one?
Teostra has been safer for me since I have an Cpp lbg (ranged) or Legi Db (4 Divine blessing) compared to my Zin LS, Jho CB or Prath Gunlance

If we can only encounter him in the interception then anyone below HR 100 is out of the event due to the recent changes to interception requirements
6 star Teostra will be available for everyone in HATs. 100 HR is only for 8 star and above.

Teostra is indeed dangerous especially when he goes critical state. Man I died a lot of times because I was cornered in mhw a lot of times.
I also hope for the unlimited HaT would comeback soon, I’m in need of more Djoe mats 😂
