Active Lava Field Hike - Iceland Adventure

Leirhnjúkur feels out of this world. Climbing to the top of the Leirhnjúkur volcano across steaming lava is an unforgettable experience. The dramatic landscape was made even more somber by the rain as I navigated the deserted lava fields.

Iceland is indeed unique in many ways: the combination of volcanoes and glaciers, ice caves, no predators, snakes, or mosquitoes! Not to mention the views - those are simply indescribable. Love the place.
