To Macie Jay, the world makes more sense with griptape, wood and wheels beneath his feet. But after he broke his ankle in a skateboarding accident, Macie faced a dilemma.
Macie’s primary creative pursuit was put on hold, and he was getting restless. So he looked for another outlet.
Siege asks players to find creative solutions to get around the map, while also demanding quick, precise decision making. As far as video games go, it’s not that different from skateboarding. Tactical but creative, precise but freewheeling - it was exactly what Macie was looking for.

Macie is the reason why I chose to play siege and got better because of him. His attitude, curiosity and dedication makes him one of the best content creators for this game.

Same I'm not even play r6 when I watch him for at least a year, and then I bought it because of him.
I was in school when i first started watching him, that summer i bought myself a ps4 and siege. Most likely would've started out as a copper/bronze but was always silver n gold when i started playing in Health mostly because i seen him do certain thing n i copied him. He essentially taught me how to use ying and fuze, along with nitros

The reason MC is so dear to me because I see all these other streamers do these crazy one taps, these crazy flicks and whatnot for content, I see MC do things that a normal person could do and succeed and not be extremely gifted and just be extremely curious as to "what happens if I do this"
all those crazy flicks and plays are not because thos3 content creators are gifted. its because they spend thousands of hours scriming and playing. Also training aim. Ethier way still not normal

I was a longtime Serenity17 viewer before I started watching Macie. The funny thing was I had no idea who he was and my recommended was blowing up with his videos. One day I was bored and watched a few of videos, and then the next day I was going through his channel watching ALL of his videos.
Came for the content, stayed for the personality
that's the best thing about him, he is a very cool and lovable streamer.
Same here, I started in operation chimera, searched up "how to play Mira". That took me to Serenity17, soon after that, video after video. Macie Finally showed up in the recommendations.
@@jlewis2752 I had been watching Serenity since the beta and when he started to do Pro League, around Y1 S1-2, and his uploads slowed (naturally). Macie just happened to blow up then and kinda filled in Serenity's spot over time

Macie made me love Siege even more, truly the best gaming streamer i've seen.
I still remember the first time I heard about him. I made a cool play running out of a thermite breach for a 3k flank on Kanal during year 1 of Siege, and someone typed "nice Macie Jay" in chat. Had to look it up and quickly became addicted to his channel. Had me playin differently ever since.
I remember getting in a game with macie and he immediately got tkd off spawn. Sucks that I couldn't face off against in a legit match

It's annoying that streamers get propped up like they're the gods of the game but all they really have is a little bit of skill and a streaming channel with a lot of viewers. To brag like this guy was the first when I've been pulling the same stunts since this game was released is stupid.

@jager boy Well in every fps game you need decent aim ! in cs aim also a big factor , map knowledge and aim ! in rainbow aim + map knowledge + and game sense and angels that's why rainbow is tactical game it takes a while for new rainbow players to fully understand the game ! i played csgo for 3.5 years max rank master gardian then switched to rainbow 1.5 years ago now i'm level 265 plat 2 plat star

i remember subbing to him on youtube when he was at 150k. i was like "this guy is really good at the game, i'll follow him" and now here he is, one of the, if not the best r6s streamers out there.

I like Macie more then others just because he doesn't rely on outgunning his opponent which he definitely can but he will use everything he has from just to actually outplay you.
I subbed to macie when he was at 500, same week I wanted to show how amazing this guy was and he was at 1300 already.
They also missed some of the most amazing things he found out. Like the early videos in which he picked fuze with shield, placed a cluster charge upstairs or at a wall and pushed the defenders into his cluster charges or shooting thermite charges from above on Oregon. Also the greatest personality I've seen online.
Happy for macie man, dude always grinded and worked hard and has been a big name for siege for years now. Fellow NYer too :P

i started doing his c4 plays and it took a lot of practice but it was so worth it. helped me a lot. such an awesome dude
Macie to me will always be the Father of Siege. When I picked up the game in November 2016 and looked up how to get better on YT, his vids were always the most straight forward no nonsense. Just seeing his plays and emulating thinking outside the box are a great way to learn.
Macie was making videos at a time when other content creators were loud and had obnoxious videos. He barely talked in his videos and the editing was smooth and didn't get in the way. The skill did the talking.
There are many better player with their fancy aim and flick, and yet Macie somehow stand out above them.
There is something really entertaining about his playstyle.
Macie is probably the primary reason why I chose to play and stick to siege for so long. I'm currently taking a break from it but I still watch him with the same interest. Definitely a genuine human being and one of the best content creators for this game.
The thing I love about Macie is using brains and game sense to win the game, instead of pure aiming like most streamers do all day. It gives you idea and feel how you can have more fun with this unique game, that allows this creative plays, which is the very reason I play and liked siege for longest time over any other shooters. Many shooters become stale and it is very hard to keep motivating yourself to keep playing unless youre in a clan or a competition etc. In siege, you can find more and more to do and im 2500 hours into the game and still learning new thing or two even now

Macie Jay is the Adam Lz of siege. Both started doing skating/bmxing and now both do things they enjoy that is completely different from where they started it all. Love both

I've been following macie jay since the first few seasons of the game. He only had ~5000 subs and his personality hasn't changed very much since then and that is why I love him. I improved immensely with his videos back then.

Bruh wtf its not even near as tactical as siege.
In csgo on every map there is a set amount of tactics per map and you cant get too creative.
Sure, same could be said for siege, but thanks to its unique design (mostly the part where environment can be freely reshaped) there is A LOT of possible ways to play a round.
And thats not even mentioning the fact that different operators can make even more creative tactics
Rookie It is, just not as much so as it used to be. With ops like Finka and Lion rolling through it lowered the skill gap. I hate fire and forget ops now.

I still remember that time when BattleEye banned Macie cause he was that good. People shat on his shooting mechanics, but they’re not saying anything about his game sense. He could easily be a Pro League player .

TBH at first I did not like Macie Jay because I did not see that “mechanical skill” on him, but as I got better at the game I realized not all was running and gunning, and he certainly excelled in team play and strategy. The more I watched the more I realized what a great person he was too. I honestly wish him the best, and hope he does good in his streaming career.

Siege definitely needs a streamer mode. Something to hide other player's names and your own, to counter cheaters that would exploit this, makes it so you only hide it for yourself and your name appears normal to everyone else

I didnt know who he was until I saw this video. When I started siege in the very beginning I used pulse, the shotgun, and c4 almost every time as a defender. Whenever I dont play seriously and just goof around, I'll usually get either the most kills or end up being mvp. If I'm playing serious or attempt to focus, I actually do worse and usually end up at the bottom. It's always been my playstyle.. choose the worst / underdog character in a game, use the worst load out / gear possible, use stupid techniques until they work and eventually master them. Can confirm that I've been reported and banned a few times for things that would have looked like cheating in the killcam... but if only people could see a few seconds more of what was going on then they'd have their minds blown lol

When was Pulse ever the worst operator? His gadget used to suck compared to what it is now, but he was still a 3 speed with a nitro cell. It's always been between Tachanka and Castle, but Tachanka is fun at least.
