Thanks for sharing this! Great pickup! I still have my original from when I was a kid. Saved it from my shed a few years back and now have it displayed.
Cool that you still have your original one!
THANKS for the trip down memory lane 😀 I really miss having my Joe's. I nearly had the entire action figure collection. Unfortunately years back I had to sell them due to financial circumstances. There is absolutely no way to pick them up today 😔 prices are through the roof 😳. None the less watching you put this base together was a joy 😀🙏💚 thanks again enjoy the base YO JOE !💥🇺🇸🌎
It's a shame when you lose your collection, no matter how it happened. I lost a lot of items myself.
I love how you used the box as reference...if I'm lucky I'll be using this video to assemble mine....love it!!!!!!
The Headquarters, not quite the Pitt, is a work of art. Thank you for sharing
It's a fun set, thanks!
I had this as a kid, I loved it, I had the tank, jeep and helicopter to go along with it. I think back then, the parts snapped together tighter. After a while it ended up in pieces in a huge cardboard box with all my gi Joes and transformers toys. Thanks for doing this video. It takes me back to when I was 7 or 8
That nostalgia is what we're all about!
It is great that you are starting to get back out to the shows! Looking forward to it myself. 👍
Yeah, we do virtual tours when we go out for the channel.
That's exactly what i liked about G.I.Joe, the weird figures like Zartan and the Hawkman figure.
Nothing specifically wrong with Sci-Fi, it's just that some ARAH collectors view him as the beginning of the end of realistic military figures and vehicles in the line...
Like ive always said guys David is a Freaking Modern Day Macgyver. He can put any toyset playstaion together without the freaking Blueprints. Amazing !!!!!
I can figure it out in a pinch!
David, I enjoyed watching you build this much more than I thought I would. I have to say you are the Bob Villa, of the toy industry. And Crumb needs attention. 😎
Crumb gets too much as it is!
@@OpenByChance lol... David whatever happened to your handsome orange cat, Romeo? Or, is he the one that passed away?
When I hear "GI Joe Headquarters" I think of the Adventure Team Headquarters play set of the 1970's. It's the one I have. I see you also have the Helicopter. I bought one recently on Ebay, and it displays nicely with a GI Joe inside. I'm glad you went through the trouble of assembling your play set. I wish more collectors would do that.
If it was sealed I wouldn't have messed with it, but since it was already opened, I couldn't resist...
I like sci-fi me little bro had the headquarters and gave it to me when we were older and I love it now as I did when he had it
Nothing specifically wrong with the character, it's just that some ARAH collectors view him as the beginning of the end of realistic military figures and vehicles in the line...
i was so stoked watching this video.......thank you and Lady Pop......
Glad you enjoyed it!
love the 80s card art......
great pick up on gijoe headquarters command centre.its complete. like the box art displays well with the figures.
The art on these is great!
This is why I Love your vids 👍. I Forgot this until u put it together. My older brother had that command center and I Destroyed it in my backyard. I blew it up😂😂😂. He was so pissed I thought he was gonna kill me.
Oh no! I would have been pissed too!
Looks so Fresh Clean
Yes indeed!
That's a great playset! I never had that one, but I did get the mobile troop carrier. I still have it 👏🤣👍 Great video
GI Joe had some great playsets!
@@OpenByChance Definitely. I can honestly say that those G.I.Joe figures were my favorite to collect. They were the perfect scale to have vehicles that weren't so big that they weren't feasible, and the figures were really well detailed and articulated for the time. I can honestly say that I prefer those vintage Gijoe figures over the new 6" classified series. I really only collect Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in anything larger than 1/12 scale. Again, great video 👏😎
Great job
Thanks!
Very cool, looks great.
Thanks!
@@OpenByChance You're welcome.
Thanks for assembling this on camera and showing it off! Was this playset manufactured in the USA?
Yep
Rhode Island
Contrary to what a lot of people say; this playset was NOT "brittle" at all. I must have disassembled and rebuilt this thing a couple of dozen times when I was a kid and I'd take it to my cousin's house for the weekend.
It feels like it comes apart easy when you handle it. Especially the cell block.
the box has to be displayed i agree...
Where's the popcorn and soda pop, this is gonna be good.😆
I'm having fun with it!
@@OpenByChance you are just a big kid at heart and it's delightful how much fun the two of you have collecting. 💚💙💛💜
You might want to try super-gluing some of those flimsy pieces together. I know its vintage but it is an option. Neway looks good. Thanks for sharing the build. :)
I don't think I could glue it!
love it bro
I'm super stoked...thank you thank you thank you...I just bought one on ebay for 80 bucks..it only missing the little front guns..after reading the description the seller stated he had the og box...I just hope it gets here unbroken...he said he's not a pro shipper...ahhhh!!!...wish me luck..
It's pretty cool, and gives me a place to store a bunch of the loose figures. Hopefully yours arrives safely!
@@OpenByChance you just gave me a great idea...yes, I'm a bit worried cause the guy said he was gonna send it in the og box..but was gonna wrap it..what his definition of it we'll see....thanks and I'll keep you updated...
Good stuff
Thanks!
I played with GI Joe's in the 80s as a real young kid. They were smaller, but really articulated, looked a lot like the in one you showed on camera. They had one screw on their back and if you took that out there was one rubber band inside. My brother and I would take them apart and then make out own GI Joe's. Do you know what line of GI Joe's that was? That's one of my bigger childhood memories and I'd love to start buying a few for my collection. Love your vids!!!
Those are the very same ones I have. All original figures from the 80s!
I came on here to see how you assembled the prison cell door, but I see you had the same problem as me. Thumb's up to your wife for recording your toy unbox. My wife just bitches about them :-(
She's awesome!
if youihad a permanate place I would glue it
Did you collect Masters of the Universe figures as a child, David?
No, I didn't collect Masters.
I wish I still had my base
Maybe you can find another one for a good price
What is a good price on these??
Or what I should say is what is a good price on these COMPLETE without box.??
always wanted one.......still need to get one....do you collect beyond a certain year?
Mostly I just stick to vintage. Although I do have some of the new Classified series, (can't find the Target Cobra Island stuff)...
I was wondering if I can just ask a quick question I do collect a lot of vintage toys and stuff like that I went to a yard sale and I picked up a box of Masters of the Universe action figures still in the box never been open it's from 2001 now are He-Man worth any money or no
The 200X series? There is some value there, but not as popular at the moment.
@@OpenByChance yeah I kind of figured that because you know He-Man wasn't real popular back in the 80s cuz it failed to capture the audience it's not as big as you know Marvel Comics or DC look at the Ninja Turtles their their popular Thundercats are still popular but Masters of the Universe wasn't real popular but thank you for answering my question
Do you collect Super Joe from 1977?
I used to, part of the collection I lost some years ago. We did a video talking about that a few months back.
P the version of the GI Joe headquarters that you got was never made for s t r e e t furniture this was only we r e u s e d for action force The one for s t r e e t fighter was the one was the 1991 has gorgeous
Yeah this was never used for s t r e e t furniture and it was used for action force not action man
The Ottoman is my favorite character in Street Furniture II.
Yeah, Action Force, I said it wrong.
How much do these go for?? May I ask what you paid??.
Loose and complete with the box, maybe $400-500 depending on condition. I got it for a lot less than that fortunately...
