The first resort they show the white one at 0:13 my family rents a room there for 2 weeks a year I went the year after Irma and it was like it had never happened. The response by the government and the citizens were amazing. It’s no wonder they call it the friendly island
We are a strong country!! We may be small but we are some tough sons of B’s lol. We haven’t forgotten the tragedy and seeing this video brought old and painful memories back.
Sorry but the fact the the airport still hasn’t been fixed properly to this day is way more concerning than a hotel most likely privately owned

I went there in Spring 2017 on Carnival Sunshine and the island was gorgeous. Watching this video is pretty sad when you think about the force of nature. An island can be pretty one day, and be destroyed the next.
Where i live the houses got blown away but ours was the last one standing tall

I went to st Martin ,cosumel mexico,castaway cay (Disney's private island is castaway cay),Grand Cayman islands,and Puerto Rico. I went to those places on 2 cruises one took 2 islands and castaway and the other took the other 2 islands and castaway Disney fantasy cruises and I'm going on my third cruise in e weeks October 1st I'm going to Jamaica wich is thankfully still standing cosumel again and labadee hati but it's destroyed UGH but it's sad to see st Martin and Puerto Rico like this I want to cry
My prayers are with those who this Hurricane is affecting.

Earthquake in Mexico!
It was off the coast of tampico Veracruz. A 8.9 earthquake and it was felt in Mexico city and as far as El Salvador. Crazy Mexico is facing a category 1 hurricane katria and now this also tsunami warning was put out.

Before Irma hit, a special platoon of our Dutch army was sent over there. and our government is sending planes full of emergency support every day. Our king William Alexander will go there this weekend, and believe me he is not sitting down for a cup of tea. St Martin is 95% destroyed :'(
Citizens there are really stupid people. They all voted to be independence of the Netherlands and now they are complaining the Netherlands don't help immediately and throw money at them. I think they learned a lesson this week.

first of all they were asking for independence they are not fully independence before u provocate them okay mostly people who live sxm in dutch side they have dutch passport from holland okay sxm are independ from holland not curacao they ask independence from curacao 2016 october alright soo before u blame them go back to study

@@LiaPlayss my comment has nothing to do with me, holidays, or anger. The first image in the video is of an airplane flying over a hotel. How is that a holiday? I have zero desire to "holiday" in that way. Does little to help the local population, bad for the atmosphere and local environment, yet another way for the haves to exploit the have nots. I can only assume your grief made you jump to conclusions. Personally, i have no desire to vacation anywhere where the major industry is tourism, you can get the sane experience going to any shopping mall anywhere in the world. Not for me. My idea if a vacation is no noise, no people, no schedule, usually a tent and a fishing pole, maybe a canoe. I truly hope caribbeans can rebuild their societies such that they dont have to rely on the descent of vultures from wealthier parts of the world, and such that multinational corporations dont own most of the money making industries. Resilience is not possible without local control
