personally i found that pretty annoying as well. i get that the purpose of the game is to show the the passage of time (old skaters, spots how they look today ect.) but if that was the case why did the carlsbad gap stay the same? it got torn down years ago. also if they add the THPS3 campaign are they gonna remove the skaters island level because years ago the park got torn down after the roof collapsed? its strange.

I used to score 100k easy when I played underground back in the day. idk if it’s cuz I’m rusty or I need to level up the character, but I barely could land anything lol it’s kind of frustrating actually
Only played thps 1 so far and I've only played 4 maps and I can already say that it's a perfect remake, in fact it's beyond perfect! It just brings back so many memories. Before the announcement came out I used to wish that they would do a remake but I never thought that it would ever happen but it did. Thankyou so much for doing this remake!
I completed both games in the remake pretty fast. Was a lot of fun, but thought, right...what to do now? Then I started to work through all the challenges Vicarious added to the game. And that's where I think the real heart lies. They make you do various gaps, doing combos that are only allowed certain trick types, skater-specific tasks, hit certain scores, do certain specials, combine specials in one combo etc. Having a blast working through them. And that's not including MP or park editor.
So far right now it needs some major work for multiplayer online I love that they brought back the split screen but in this day and age playing multiplayer with your buddies and friends is key as of right now it looks like we're just stuck with random matchmaking

Wish they would make a pro skater 4 remake. The simple story, the gameplay, the level design, the progression system. I think it was the perfect tony hawk and improved on every other tony hawk game created. Tony hawk American wasteland and project 8 are close seconds for me story wise and gameplay innovation wise. My only gripes so far is that they made Hubba Hideout way too short (again), and the LOVE fountain gap was designed incorrectly, it is not a stretch 3 with a 2x long 4th. Cant even gap into the fountain even when you drain it, super bummed about those flaws. They need to fix those and patch it asap.

Two cons that I noticed right away: skater seems to move so quickly without even pushing. And you can't get off of your board! If you're gonna update things at least change these two things!
Reverts just killed this game TBH... remember going apeshit on the original series trying to beat the Highscore, waaaaay more thrilling when you couldn't do 100 tricks combos. I remember taking a 35mm picture of the TV screen when I scored 2 million to show off to my friends @ school. Good freaking times!
I used to do realistic way back on thps1. Turning autokick off and dropping all stats. iirc Thps2 allowed remapping all tricks so you could replace grabs with other flip tricks.
I bought SkaterXL to bridge the time until release and kinda got into the mood where I wasn't sure whether I actually would enjoy this after SkaterXL's realistic approach, but FUCK, 25 minutes to go, BRING IT ON!
this is by far one of the best remake of any video game i have ever played in the last decade, love it. I really hope thry continue to remake all the classic titles for next gen, as well as use the same developer and engine to make a brand new thps game, that would be epic
Perfect? No. But exactly what I was hoping for? Yes plus more. I honestly would have been happy if it was identical to THPS 2x but with upgraded graphics, but this takes that and adds so much more. Sure it takes away the need to redo all the goals with all the skaters, but what it adds in it's place is a fantastic addition. With how good it turned out my only disappointment is that it wasn't THPS 1-3 having all three of the 2 minute level games in one package. Sure 1&2 where better received but that's probably only because 3 games in 3 years with only one major update per game became a little bit of a burn out. With how good this remake is I would have loved to see the series redone in the following packages... 1) THPS 1-3 2) THPS4 +THUG 1&2 3) THAW, TH Project 8, and THPG That would have fit together so well having all the 2 minute session games in one pack, the alpha to THUG and the THUG series in a second pack (let's be fair THPS 4 while not bad in comparison to THUG felt like a tech demo or alpha of THUG), and then the "we are just the arcade skate board version of Madden with annual releases with not enough innovation to warrant annual releases" pack (again don't get me wrong they where not bad games, but 9 games in 8 years will definitely cause the same burn out that any annual released game does, 2 added manuals, 3 added reverts, 4 added open world, UG added story lines, getting off the board, and wall plants, everything after that was just another "Madden game", yes I know there where things improved but I am just talking major changes)

you know, if they wanted to upgrade to more modern representations of spots, they could have had the grass on top and then had wooden planks on top of the grass like skaters were still trying to skate it, like they literally have on the roofs when NS is skating up the buildings
why would they make the skaters NOT stepping right on the tail while they are cruising tho'. they only touch the tail before doing tricks and thats so weird
Ok so, it has local multiplayer.....and no private or custom online multiplayer.....so basically you cant even invite a friend to skate a map with you, or head to head your friends.

well yea the originals were arcade and unrealistic that was the point these remakes going against that sucks i played all THPS games i don't like this remakes to i thought tony's licence deal was up but i dunno guess trying to make us "forget" that trash "THPS5" and THPSHD" bull i regret buying THPSHD to this day.
Yeah that's kind of the entire point of this game hey, it's not trying to be realistic, just good old fashioned arcade THPS fun with a modern twist on the graphics.
@@Zaschh yeah i know i used to love thps! But what in saying is thay after playing skater xl with such realistic controls and tricks its too hard for me to go back to a thps and enjoy it as before.
@@powerblazing3603 Ah fair enough, yeah I grew up on THPS too and am actually looking forward to this style of skateboarding game again, Skater XL is great as well but they're just so different that I feel like there's value in both. Skate 3 is definitely weird to play now after XL though
Huge fan of the old Tony hawk games they should raise score requirements though because alot of the qol changes make scoring way easier

you know, if they wanted to upgrade to more modern representations of spots, they could have had the grass on top and then had wooden planks on top of the grass like skaters were still trying to skate it, like they literally have on the roofs when NS is skating up the buildings

why would they make the skaters NOT stepping right on the tail while they are cruising tho'. they only touch the tail before doing tricks and thats so weird

Ok so, it has local multiplayer.....and no private or custom online multiplayer.....so basically you cant even invite a friend to skate a map with you, or head to head your friends.

@@Sidnfjdkdndfbd yeah i figured but just why? like those controls wouldnt suit thps in the slightest, plus the game plays too fast for a control scheme on that kind anyway you wouldnt be able to combo as fast or anything

Character creation is alright, you could never get off your board in PS1+2
