  • What's up guys in this video I go over 4 simple tips you can use to throw a more powerful jab!
    The jab is the arguably the most important weapon in boxing. I say arguably because the most important and effective punch is the one you can actually land. For some it may be a hook, cross, uppercut, or a jab. If you can't land a throw a jab then it probably isn't the most important punch for you (right now). Keep working and keep improving to make it part of your arsenal!
    The 4 tips are the following:
    Tip #1 Think speed not power
    Tip #2 Bend your knees more
    Tip #3 Turn your fist fully
    Tip #4 Change tempos with your jab

    Thank you very much El Yuyo. Well spoken, clear, concise! Precision. Just starting my boxing practice! Would you say that the jab is going to be the foundation of all bouts? How many fights can be won with just a jab through control and defense at the amateur level?

    Most effective punch is a straight shot up the middle through opponents gloves. Also the upper cut but also a fast overhand they never see coming.

    Hi Yuyu I really enjoy your content. I was wondering what you did to prepare for amateur fights especially in regards to food when you weigh in and fight on the same day. Also how long did it take you to start making money after you went pro?

      What’s up! Amateur fighting is different because it is same day weigh in for multiple days in a row. For amateur I’d recommend walking around a lot closer to fight weight
      I remember I use to focus on the fight and when it was done I’d go for a run at night and light shadowbox to sweat off any excess weight

    Soft jab to the chest soft to the head then hard right, then super stiff jab to start the next one. That's awesome Its kind of normal to to be taught to do your combo and finish strong but I like this one because your jab is like the power punch at the end of a combo but for me it's hard to throw a good combo after a power jab I'm not sure if it's my forward momentum or what but unless it stuns them a little bit seems easier to get countered going for a combo with a power jab.
    Sorry if that was confusing, do you reposition your feet and move away after a power jab or do you throw a combo typically, thank you 🙏🙏

      @ElYuyuBoxing  2 года назад +1

      Nope! I understand what you’re saying and I agree it’s definitely harder to land a combo after really committing to a power jab! That’s why a lot of jabs are throw away or distraction jabs to set up the big punches
