What a legendary voice, Peter was without doubt the most amazing storyteller, commentator and knowledgeable person in the world of golf. I was incredibly fortunate to meet him at the 2000 Millennium Open at St Andrews, outside the old clubhouse. It was very brief but it’s something that will stick with me for ever, and it was fantastic that we were able to have a short conversation. He will be sorely missed, absolutely loved listening to this man. RIP Peter.
End of an era today with the very sad demise of Peter Alliss. In terms of sport commentary he is matched only by Murray Walker, both superb in what they did and both legends of the microphone. Very sad loss, grew up listening to Peter's ramblings laughing at his comments.... RIP.
@@ngc-fo5te happens to us all in the end, the inference being Peter Allis was listened to the world over and was greatly respected amongst his peers and the golfing greats.
The Voice of Golf.
Unequalled, and sadly missed.
Thank you Mr Alliss.
Agree with comments he was Mr Golf. Lovely to hear him I have loved growing up listening to him over the years. He'll be a great miss.
Great video, lovely to hear him reminising. He will be sadly missed.

Sorry, but he became uninformed and a poor commentator. Almost unlistenable.

Mr. Alliss along with his dad were great players.
Lovely to see this and thank you for posting this.
I don't think I've ever mourned a celebrity before
