Josephine Laverty Yeah, I forget which episode, but this was one of them. I'm glad you're new, you get the experience of listening to some older ones for the first time! How exciting!
"Oh where are we going" Said the brown dog to the hen But just because they were animals Doesn't mean they couldn't have been men Oh lets go down to Bremen Take my paw in your hand And we'll sing for our supper In that freest of the freest People need to see us The freest of the freest land It was part of the plan Everybody would stand On their hind legs Hands holding high the other Like a tower of brothers And the one on the top Would crow warning And call in the morning And call out the storm that was coming The one on the bottom would steer Till the road was clear And the people would learn to rejoice And to fear our coming But how long did we think We could walk we could sing Before our voices gave out and our limbs gave in On the road, on the road, on the road, on the road On the way, on the way, on the way To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen, To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen, To Bremen Oh on the road to Bremen I came across some robbers three And first I took everything away from them Then they took everything away from me
We saw them in Pittsburgh and they are such an amazing group I wish they would come back and play in Pittsburgh again we would definitely go and see them again
All of these people are saying that they came here from Nightvale. I’m not sure how I found out about this song but it wasn’t from that. Anyways, I’m absolutely in love with this song and many others
I am just a little girl from bremen. All my friends and family are there but I live so far away in Canada. In 8 1/2 months I'm finally gonna see them again and be in the city that I can call my home. Thus isn't about the song I know but whenever I'm homesick and I miss my mama I listen to this song. It helps me so much, thank you for making this❤
“Mickey what have I always told you??? Five words to live by: the customer is always right!” -depressed shopkeeper Still my favorite theater production :)
I kept coming back to play this, so I've bought it on itunes. When I get paid I'm buying the whole album. There's something so magical about this; the fairytale mixed with an almost Spanish beat. It's so perfect. If I could have a full hour of this song I would still play it back to back.
Some rando from Texas hoping to the lucky starts above that PigPen reads this, but there’s been some buzz down here concerning UIL One Act Play. My school (Porter HS) has done TOMATOM for its OAP, and we’ve advanced all the way to region as of today (bear in mind, no school in our district has EVER made it out of even AREA in OAPs) and today, we’ve made history… My point to this comment? To say thank you to the AMAZING cast and crew of this production, and most of all, to you, PigPen, by writing this song that has carried us this far, so without further ado… We’ll see you on the road to Bremen🌒🌓🌔🌕🇮🇪 🎻 🪗 🎸 🥁🐟👻🎈 🎶🪨 Edit: we didn’t advance but HEY, we went out with a BANG!!!! THANK YOU PIGPEN FOR YOUR AMAZING SHOW AND IM SORRY WE DIDNT GET TO BREMEN…THOSE ROBBERS GOT THE BEST OF US, but trust me, yall made a state show… 🇮🇪 💚🤍🧡
It’s now 2023 and Welcome to Night Vale is still bringing people like me here. Heard this song for the first time last night and, even as a lifelong metal fan, I absolutely love this song. Well done, PigPen Theatre Co; well done. Going now to listen to the rest of your catalogue 😁
I saw this play almost 6 years ago and haven't forgotten about it. It was so original yet beautiful. I wish I could see it one more time! One time was not good enough.
You know, I think this is the only Night Vale weather I can say that I've heard before I actually listened to WTNV. Still doesn't mean it's any less great, I still fucking love this song
everything about this is amazing. i hope that along with this song being featured in an wtnv episode more people will notice just how talented you all are. best of luck and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift with us!
i didn't evenknow this was in welcome to nightvale, i only just found out after looking it up to listen to on repeat. beautiful song, gets stuck in my head every time
Yknow I preformed this show last year for my high schools fall show, and this musical and specifically this song stuck with me. It’s just such a quaint and touching story. And I really do love it so much
This whole show I was lucky enough to see about ten years ago in NYC and it still rests in my mind everyday as the most beautiful production I’ve ever seen.
I'm from the area around Bremen, and let me say, this song perfectly embodies what I feel about this beautiful city. I just imagine how it must have been to live in there when the tale was written. It truly must have felt like 'the freest of the freest lands'. Thank you for this amazing song.
Bremen is also the name of a town in the DnD module “Rime Of The Frostmaiden” that I’m running for my friends and I have been planning to do an animatic to this song for them ever since i found it :)
I love this. Don't care that the song is about a different "tale." Your voices are beautiful. I hear your show is fantastic. The movie is moving and elegant. Thank you for making it.
My school is actually putting on this play this year for our one act competition we’ve made it all the way to regionals which is one step before state if y’all are available and can get the cast of the show y’all should come down to Texas to see us I think it would be cool if y’all see this I can give details just reply
There was a youtuber who used this song in their video, sadly they removed their account along with all their videos; I have spent the last hour and half looking for this song. I REALLY love this song T-T
Just remembered this song again, still annoyed that the video doesn’t match the song but I do love the song. If I ever get even half decent at animations or editing maybe I’ll do a fan video for it.
2:19 this part would go good with my experience/ interaction today , i basically just lost a group of people while I was participating in a show and those group of people ? they were the host and the *objects* , though they could never be seen again , it was fun , now this may be a stupid story but like hey , it was worth it to write , also the part i mentioned was until : 3:09
"The Town Musicians of Bremen" is one of our favorite folk tales!
Me too I ♥ the town musicians of bremen
The weather is beautiful today,
isn't it?
+Cristina Genao Sorry, slightly new to WTNV. This was on it for the weather?
Josephine Laverty Yeah, I forget which episode, but this was one of them. I'm glad you're new, you get the experience of listening to some older ones for the first time! How exciting!
54, a carnival comes to town.
Cristina Genao it is
"Oh where are we going"
Said the brown dog to the hen
But just because they were animals
Doesn't mean they couldn't have been men
Oh lets go down to Bremen
Take my paw in your hand
And we'll sing for our supper
In that freest of the freest
People need to see us
The freest of the freest land
It was part of the plan
Everybody would stand
On their hind legs
Hands holding high the other
Like a tower of brothers
And the one on the top
Would crow warning
And call in the morning
And call out the storm that was coming
The one on the bottom would steer
Till the road was clear
And the people would learn to rejoice
And to fear our coming
But how long did we think
We could walk we could sing
Before our voices gave out and our limbs gave in
On the road, on the road, on the road, on the road
On the way, on the way, on the way
To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen,
To Bremen, to Bremen, to Bremen,
To Bremen
Oh on the road to Bremen
I came across some robbers three
And first I took everything away from them
Then they took everything away from me
Night Vale brought me here. The amazing harmonies and the way the instruments and voices blend together have me here to stay. I love this!
Agreed. I'm addicted.
We saw them in Pittsburgh and they are such an amazing group I wish they would come back and play in Pittsburgh again we would definitely go and see them again
Night Vale is great at introducing artists that I would have absolutely no way of even knowing they exist. This is a fantastic sound.
I fell asleep to night vale and the first time I heard this song I was in a dream, it felt like it lasted hours.
Heathco.MD I know the feeling, I used to sleep with music on, and I always got a deja vu feeling when a song came on. this one especially.

Brought here by Soproxi. Loved this song so much, still do. It's calming, full of emotion and yet soothing.
It appears we have the same childhood
@@HiLoHiLoHiLoHiLo We're few, but we're there
I'm glad that there are those who remember them lol
It’s been almost a year since the production I was in. I miss it dearly. Glad to see most of the cast next week for the next show!
My school is preforming this play and I loved learning and singing this song it’s very good
BREAK A LEG!!!!
everything about this is amazing. i hope that along with this song being featured in an wtnv episode more people will notice just how talented you all are. best of luck and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift with us!
Odd how there's three brothers, yet four animals in the Town Musicians of Bremen. Guess I'm stuck in the PigPen until I figure this mystery out.
O- oh, they sing Robbers. As in, the three robbers. Mystery solved I guess.
This song was 12 years ago... I was broke back then and so young... I still love this song.
This song (and performance) makes my soul happy.
One of the best shows I ever have and quite possibly ever will see.
If they visit your city, go see them
Wow, this is beautiful. Surprisingly moving, and it made me think about what "The Musicians of Bremen" actually means.
It's been a whole year and I'm still listening to this song.
i didn't evenknow this was in welcome to nightvale, i only just found out after looking it up to listen to on repeat. beautiful song, gets stuck in my head every time

I love Nightvale, but I actually found this song on Spotify! Both are great!
Oh my gosh i came here from nightvale and i love the way those instruments blend and fit so naturally together with his voice. So beautiful.
I was a tech for a performance of this song in highschool. This song holds a lotta nostalgia for me.
This song has never escaped my mind. Thank you.
She.. brought me here. and some how i still find my way back. It's a lovely song
Thank you Night Vale, and thank you Pigpen Theatre Co.
I heard this song randomly on Spotify and have been looking for it. So glad to have finally found it.
What a wonderful gift you all have.
They made a reference to the German fairly tale "The Musicians of Bremen". Also, this is a beautiful song and a wonderful video.
I was definitely expecting the video to be of the story... Not disappointed, though.
Also a Russian Cartoon!
I never get tired of watching this.
I love Night Vale, but I found this from an awesome MV back in highschool school and I'm still listening to this in college

This song has wormed its way to somewhere near my soul and I can't stop listening to it so I'll have to learn to play it.

Severely underrated.
There was a youtuber who used this song in their video, sadly they removed their account along with all their videos; I have spent the last hour and half looking for this song.

learned of this song from the play The Old Man and The Old Moom
Just remembered this song again, still annoyed that the video doesn’t match the song but I do love the song. If I ever get even half decent at animations or editing maybe I’ll do a fan video for it.
I decided to pick up Oblivion again and decided to walk the path to bruma and played this song all the way there and I can tell you it fit quite well
Good album

I want to find out which night vale this is on. I'm just starting and there's too many :P. Great wonderful song tho
It's on episode 54 - A Carnival Comes to Town
What genre would this be?
Yes.
I believe the writers were inspired by Celtic music.
Good night, night vale good night.
not here bc of nightvale but whatever that is sounds cool. a podcast or smth?
reminds me of plague dogs honestly
What instrument is this being played in the beginning ?? :0 (obviously strings but like...a guitar or what??)
an acoustic guitar, followed by a banjo :)
