    They made something like half a million Purple Hearts for WWII Japan but we didn't have to invade because of the A Bomb, so we're still using the Purple Hearts from WWII. Also, I heard that brass medals are made from expended shell casings but haven't been able to confirm it.

    I can't believe how expensive it is to replace all those expensive medals earned trust me I know I just spent $150 just on service ribbons medals lapel pins for my recent membership with the DAV. furthermore the rarity of some namely the Navy Expeditionary Medal lapel pin and cross cannons for Gunner's Mate's, Two Deployments during Three Operational Conflicts, no lapel pins for Navy S.C.A.T. nor any patches being made.
