I'm not a new player, but I haven't played in over a year, so I greatly appreciate the weapon and tool recommendations. Also the refresher on how ammo types interact with penetration was very welcome!
The searchbar keywords for perks and owned are a game changer, i always find myself wasting so much time between matches restocking if i dont want to run a premade loadout.
All good tips! The new thing I learned was that med-kits put out fires. I've used it for bleeding before, but I don't think I ever tried it with burning. I guess I usually find myself in the position of the fire eating away at my health at the same rate as my health bar, so a med-kit would be wasted by using it to stop the fire. (If you have taken additional damage beside the burning I can see how it is useful though.)

Also changing the dark sight to a different key is a good idea since when it is on the default key E, you can't strafe right while in dark sight. This is especially important when you try to revive teammates with necro or while using serpent
Great way to play Hunt, " just don't give a shit", and you will do way better. Now I don't mean go out and be reckless you stuff playing with your mind but go in there knowing you might take one to the dome as soon as you run 100 m in because that's the way this game is.
I’ve learned to prioritize pressing engagements over status effects to the degree where now I’ll get a bit careless and win a fight only to not have enough time to stop the bleed/burn
New hunter here. Had 8? Games so far. 2 extractions with a bounty. 1 without. And 5 games where I was destroyed. I tried speaking to teammates on voip but only some where helpful / talked. So I'm looking forward to this video and learning more.

i got the game about a month ago and i actually already knew all this and wish i had known all of it the first week i played, with that said ill take the flare gun, fuses if im being cheap, as well as throwing axes to light the inside of a hunters hide on fire or to one shot any armored or hive at a safe distance, and sometimes the light from the flare is a bonus because people tend to focus in on the lights location and not me....as long as they don't see the shot but it is risky. That last point also applies to the cages, iv caught so many teams off guard by destroying a cage with decoys, and them simply circling the compound to one side or the back. being aware of things making noise doesn't mean you cant use that to your advantage! lol
Also on low elo chaos bombs work wonders. I managed to to lure out players from boss buildings a couple of times only to sneak up from behind and kill them ^^
My #1 tip is to join a match to have fun. I'm 60 hours in. I still from time to time ignore the boss. My friends and I just blast everything in sight. You naturally find pvp because you're being loud. You learn the map and aim train. Not every game has to be a sweat match over the boss. Do what you want to do. Sometimes you'll get the server to fight over the boss, those who survive extract and it leaves you the entire map alone to shoot the zombies and what not.
Only thing I didn’t know was typing owned or fanning into the search bar to sort the weapons. Thanks my guy, always something new to learn about this game. I have a test question for you good sir. Did you know that in a few trains on Desalle and Lawsone you can chill in the front train cart and shoot out the window? I’ve gotten some cheeky kills like this. Especially the one between Lawson and Blanc lol.

@@PanzerPC I feel like you should mention that it oneshots them in the video no matter if new players find it hard, they can still choose to double tap them if the head is too hard for them but I feel like most players would easily learn hitting the head, dont sugarcoat things, it makes players soft, and hunt isnt a softie game. This is such a good video, have played this game for a while and still learned a lot. Just got my friend into he game and he is a sound que Wh*re pardon my french. But he doesn't understand that using a rifle and shotgun on zombies is a horrible idea, as we usually get pushed within the next minute.
A good tip for silent killer is not taking the trait at all. Learn how to use throwing knives then throwing axe. You can throw it even at 0 stamina and the best thing is you can "silent kill" without grunting. Tho the falling body of the zombie will still make a sound so beware of that.
Cool video, effort can be seen :) My tip would be to try to incorporate the messages such as at 3:25 more into the video. It is okay to make those, just the complete shift to blue background etc. seems unnecessarily disruptive.

Hi there pal, all weapons with standard bullets can pen soft surfaces. Just note that compact ammo is not all that effective same with shotguns at range. Also note that certain round cant pen such as dum dum or poison. If you have a gun with normal bullets always always pop a shot through you cant go wrong. I'm debating whether or not to get this game on my Steam Deck. I played a little on my Xbox and I never forgot it. I was quite terrible when I played before and I suppose I'm hesitant to spend the money for a game that will only frustrate me after a workday LOL.
Nice Video. Nothing new for me but nice one. For the actual newer players on this: I'm gonna use this comment to fill it up with information that is (imo) also worth mentioning. -Throwing Axes kill Concertina Armored oneshot headshot. -Using the Choke as a Smoke is literally the worst advice you can give to new players. Don't. Ever. Do. That. Other hunt players are stupid cheaters (legal cheaters when it comes to crytek) using reshade or playing on de-render. Chokes will help them massively. If u wanna create a smoke-cloud to revive someone, use a dynamite instead. -For Spawnfights, don't be scared anymore. Be a bit paranoid still but Crytek "removed" Spawnfights in the sense that no teams can spawn within 150 meters from each other. -As for Shotguns, the Terminus is great for beginners. Just make sure to pack "Levering" and "Bulletgrubber". (Grubber is not that important tho. Levering is a must.) -Also for Shotguns, as long as u don't run slug ammo, never and I mean never ADS. -The Specter and Romero are basically sniper rifles if u add slug ammo. Making them a 2shot headshot at 90 meters. Rival with Slugs has ~75. -Only three ammo types can collat headshot. Nitro Express normal, Nitro express dum-dum(now called shredder) and Mosin/Lebel/Berthier Spitzer. All of these can click two heads at once. Except normal Nitro which can do three. Normal Nitro also has the highest penetration value in the game, going through up to 3 thick stone walls + 3 wood walls. -Speaking of Spitzer, that's your hitscan. No bullet in Hunt will find it's target faster than that. Even at very high distances. If u wanna snipe and u go for those juicy long distance headshots you should give it a try. Learn the purposes of the different Special Ammos in general. Maybe check out another YT-Vid for this. -When talking about the Officer as a good beginner pistol I feel obligated to mention the Caldwell 92 New Army aswell. Officer and New Army are the only two double action revolvers in the game, up to this point. They shoot fast and mostly kill 2 hit. (Remember that you can't use the trait "Fanning" on double-action revolvers) -Arguably the "strongest" pistol is the Uppercut. Play the conversion for a bit, unlock the uppercut, give it a fair shot of tries. Don't be scared, it might look hard to use, but once you get used to it, it's very rewarding. -Try to always have options for all ranges. For example a sparks for range and an officer for CQC. Or a Shotgun and an Uppercut. -Chicken Cages are quieter when active than the fire would be from putting then out. Dogs are louder tho. Killing a freshly triggered dogcage is usually worth it. -You can die from anything in Hunt. Most notably doors and horses. But be very very very very careful around Grunts with Torches. Before killing them, ALWAYS check for barrels around them. Or Oil Spills for that matter. -If you combine Concertina Traps with Poison Traps, you get a nice Instakill. Just make sure the enemy always steps into the Concertina first, as this will automatically slow the enemy and trigger the poison with it. If he just steps in the poison he might just back out without the Concertina going off. -You might wanna try to learn which hunter has which dying-sound. Don't. There's only two in total. One for male. One for female. -In quickplay, you can choose ur hunter from 5 pre-selected random hunters. this is usually one T1, one T2 and three T3 hunters. -And the last and final tip, maybe the most important one: Play the damn Tutorial. It's good, it's new, it's way better than all we've had to learn. Use it. Really.
Learn to crouch and strafe and hip fire with shotguns. You’ll beat out the guys who go for headshots or body shots. Also know when to run and save yourself/team and gear
Hi, I’m a fairly new player IMO (I’m prestige 0, level 94). I was kind of interested in the avtomat full auto rifle. Is it any good or worth using? I also saw it was very expensive
Hi there, thank you for commenting. I would always advise you try whatever you want to, no ones stopping you! In general an Avto requires a long ammo pistol and also needs ammo boxes to support it's high ammo expenditure. It's a very powerful weapon which warrants the price, it certainly is not something to use all the time but always give it a go. I think you'll find that it's a good weapon but you'll feel more fulfilled with standard weapons. Make sure to have fun and stay living out there in the Bayou! 🤠
It's a fun weapon to use for sure, as long as you get in range. But depending on where your aim-game is I might advice against it. Very seldom do spray and pray work in hunt, and if you want to improve the single shot guns tend to be better teachers. You have to reposition and find another angle while you wait for the reload. Don't use it as a crutch - that's what I'm saying. But have fun with it if your budget allows for it.

Just finished my first match. Somehow everyone killed themselves after the boss died, so I was able to grab the bounty and leave with no PVP. I might just retire while I still have a 100% win rate.

Hi there, the 'greater effective range' was referring to the newly updated headshot range at the time of uploading. Martini is superior with range however the Winny had recently had its hs range increased hence the comment, hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Why would you ever burn a medkit/syringe to stop fire? You're not going to heal the damage you're just doing what F does a tiny bit faster. I guess mid fight it saves you a little time but idk
My first initial thought as well... but if you have lost more health than what the burning has chipped away at, you still kill two birds with one stone by stopping the fire with a med-kit.
Something you forgot is that you can one-concertina armors too if you hit them in the head.

-You might wanna try to learn which hunter has which dying-sound. Don't. There's only two in total. One for male. One for female.
-In quickplay, you can choose ur hunter from 5 pre-selected random hunters. this is usually one T1, one T2 and three T3 hunters.
-And the last and final tip, maybe the most important one: Play the damn Tutorial. It's good, it's new, it's way better than all we've had to learn. Use it. Really.

Learn to crouch and strafe and hip fire with shotguns. You’ll beat out the guys who go for headshots or body shots. Also know when to run and save yourself/team and gear

I was kind of interested in the avtomat full auto rifle. Is it any good or worth using? I also saw it was very expensive
Hi there, thank you for commenting. I would always advise you try whatever you want to, no ones stopping you! In general an Avto requires a long ammo pistol and also needs ammo boxes to support it's high ammo expenditure. It's a very powerful weapon which warrants the price, it certainly is not something to use all the time but always give it a go. I think you'll find that it's a good weapon but you'll feel more fulfilled with standard weapons. Make sure to have fun and stay living out there in the Bayou! 🤠
It's a fun weapon to use for sure, as long as you get in range. But depending on where your aim-game is I might advice against it. Very seldom do spray and pray work in hunt, and if you want to improve the single shot guns tend to be better teachers. You have to reposition and find another angle while you wait for the reload. Don't use it as a crutch - that's what I'm saying. But have fun with it if your budget allows for it.

You can indeed however I had mentioned this to many people actually in-game and they couldn't get the hang of it. Just finished my first match. Somehow everyone killed themselves after the boss died, so I was able to grab the bounty and leave with no PVP. I might just retire while I still have a 100% win rate.

wasting a med kit on burning is not a good idea, especially if it's early in the game. More than likely your gonna need it later

Why would you ever burn a medkit/syringe to stop fire? You're not going to heal the damage you're just doing what F does a tiny bit faster. I guess mid fight it saves you a little time but idk
you might be missing health before you start burning..
My first initial thought as well... but if you have lost more health than what the burning has chipped away at, you still kill two birds with one stone by stopping the fire with a med-kit.
You got it pal, it was my mistake for not providing the best example of this as burning always starts at the top-end!
